This guy breaks it all down perfectly. It starts at the feet. Simplifies it the way it’s supposed to be. This guy is a Teacher not just a coach. You would be surprised how many coaches out there that cant break it down like this. I would have students ask certain coaches to move around the ring for just one round doing footwork let alone shadow boxing and the coach would get mad or have someone else do it because he can’t because he’s a joke!
I was always taught to push hard off that back ball of the foot to create that drive into the lead foot step , so it’s explosive even over a small distance . Then push off the lead leg to put you back to your stance
Jab: measure tool/range finder, help peel guards, help frame an opponent, help setup counters, help blind/disorient, help push an opponent onto their back foot, help stifle an aggressive opponent, help create angles/pathways for punches, help protect you from being overwhelmed and more much more
I practice the jab like I’m fighting someone I aim for the chin or forehead I move left exposing the whole face for a second I fully extend my arm, and aim with with the closed pointer finger knuckle
Thank you, glad you are liking the videos! You push off the back foot when you jab when you have to cover distance. You always want to bring your back foot with you though so you keep your balance. A power jab is a harder jab where you really focus on your front shoulder and your back leg. You are basically throwing only 1 hard jab.

"A right hand can take you around the block, but the jab can take you around the world." Great insight John Pullman 🥊
You are the only boxer I've seen who stresses proper hand alignment. Bravo.

Such great videos. Where does the advice on pushing rather stepping come from? When do you push off the back? What is a power jab?
Thank you, glad you are liking the videos!
