@@SteveRoofer A good point Steve. In my experience of UK tradesman it's very hard trying to find a contractor with good or very good skills irrespective of the price.
Any idea if this glue and promenade tile combination would be suitable to lay on a single ply membrane. Also my roof terrace has 4 mushroom vents, any tips on how to dress these up without restricting airflow?
Here’s a question. If you are to have a replacement double glazed door off the balcony (from a wooden one), should the door be installed first, or should the new door be installed afterwards please?
remove the door and fix waterproofing up and under the fill and to the sides so that everything is watertight as high as possible then the doors go in. Unfortunately, this rarely happens.
once in how many years do we need to remove the tiles to replace the membranes.. so obviously you may not suggest natural limestone tiles as they are much heavier..?
They were never grouted always batted up and just glued down with the tar the roof was laid with recently we use one of the new PE glue that is supplied with them
Need professional advice if possible. A roofing contractor has told me he intends just ‘laying’ promenade tiles on top of the balcony without glueing down. Is this a good idea or is he being lazy?
@@SteveRoofer thankyou...if only you were based in the midlands. I need an expert. I like the way you took up the tiles first to determine what needs doing. Everyone i have had so far has just guessed at what the problem may be, and then i have been given varying levels of ‘remedy’, varying from regrouting parapets only, to replacing the upstands , to replacing the whole roof. !
Wow! Great to see that proper professional contractors do exist!
I think getting the correct price for a job is all part of the problem. We got a good price and didn't need to cut corners.

Superb job Steve
Thanks nice bit of scaffolding and a lot of room the sun was out all helps
Great work 🙌🏻
Hi Steve, do you recall, how the terrace was vented? I assume all flat roofs need some sort of ventilation, like you mentioned in many of your videos.
beautiful work Sir..
Thanks
Steve, is the primer you have used an epoxy primer to improve the bonding with the coating or is it also acting like a chemical vapor barrier?
Hi Steve. Interesting video, an end results looked great 👍. You didn't grout the tiles, is that to allow movement and flexibility?
It's not only for flexibility but to allow the water to run between the tiles and get off they are not designed to be grouted
What glue are you using for tiles and what material are the tiles? Thanks
Superb job. Question are you gluing all tiles or only last/edge tiles as shown on video.

Thanks, might be best if we keep the old door in then as timing it for a new door withh a roofer might be challenging!

its a weight and cost issue
Where can I get this liquid Dpm? And glue from please ?
What kind of glue is this? So this doesn’t need grout anymore?
They were never grouted always batted up and just glued down with the tar the roof was laid with recently we use one of the new PE glue that is supplied with them
ey sir, whats the name of the liquid and how much is it?

These are promenade tiles they stick on top and allow the water to drain underneath you don't grout them
