The fact that Jamie does all this one handed is worthy of some sort of knighthood I would think.
😂😂 thanks Jack
Yesss! Brilliant
Deffo deserves a one handed salute!!!! 🖖
Someone wittier than I needs to figure that out.
I said that before a while ago when Jamie had been saying how long it had taken him to take the old shed down, I said think how much quicker it would have been using 2 hands 🖐🖐😂😂
Are you putting a door on the mower portion of the shed? If not, you might want to check on two things. First, many riding mowers have universal keys, which means anyone could buy one online and start the mower. Also check if there is a way to put the mower in neutral. This usually exists so you can push it around without having to start the motor (or if you have to move it when out of fuel.) This also makes them easy to quietly steal when someone is out. You may want to secure a metal post deep down with concrete so you can chain the mower up to the post and/or buy a gps tracking device that you hide attached to the mower.
Considering your recent uninvited visitor, security is probably worth considering now.
That's exactly what I was thinking, can't be to careful, there is always someone ready to help themselves to your hard earned stuff .
My concern is keeping it covered in the winter and the mud churning that will happen on that side given the constant soggy weather. No ramp needed, but at least some plywood and a canvas cover. I am all about taking care of the equipment.
It appears to me that the mower would be visible from the road. That mower may be worth more money than the car roof that displaced it in the shed. I am having a hard time understanding the mower being in the shelter, in view. I agree that the post in the ground and a chain is a good idea, but a bare minimum of what is needed for security. Jamie, if people see the mower in the open shed, they are going to be thinking that something VERY valuable must be hidden in the big shed. How about a curtain or folding or accordion screen halfway deep into the length of the mower area to hide the mower from view? A black partition will look like there is just nothing in there, from a distance.
My other concern for your new summerhouse is that Sherpa can’t get inside with you. Can you use the long ramp that you are not using to get him up into the Jeep as a ramp into the shed, instead?

In case nobody has said it to you recently, I'm super proud of you and how you achieved success here! Building things like this is really difficult and youve done it yourself! Give yourself a pat on the back. Sit in the shelter with Sherpa and enjoy it before the next excitement in your life! xx
Sherpa now has the perfect summer home thanks to his amazing dad. He is such a lucky and deserving boy.
Look at what you have accomplished, Jamie! You ventured into unknown territory and mastered DIY building!💪 So proud of you!!!! You built a shelter for Sherps that he actually uses and enjoys! That is wonderful! You must be so elated😁! I am so happy and proud of you!❤ Throughout the entire process you had a very tough supervisor scrutinizing the entire build. It is a good thing that you master things quickly so that he could approve of every step that you took in the process. The enclosure came out perfectly and within the supervisors timeframe. And doing it with one hand while filming with the other. That is a very unique talent you have there.❤ Well done!
Aw thankyou Kate 😊😊

Not having to drive the lawnmower up and down those ramps is SO much better. Nice job on the shelter!
Jamie, you should never find fault with your work. The shelter is amazing! Sherpa now has the best of both worlds. He can stay outside even when it is raining, so long as it is not too cold, or he can stay inside when it is too cold.
Doors on the shed to deter thieves and protect your mower! 🐕🦺♥️

Good job Jamie
Jamie, I'm not sure about the cost, but you might consider putting down concrete pavers, a load of gravel in the mower bay, or maybe even the old metal corrugated roof, if you still have it. It would help prevent that from turning to mud.
I can't believe that you cut all that wood with a handsaw! Your arm must have been some kind of tired by day's end! Looks great, though, I'm sure Sherpa will love it!

Lost my lovely Golden Retriever on January 19th, very suddenly, he was only ten. He had arthritis we'd been treating...had no idea he had bone cancer too. So suddenly...he was a therapy dog. All my dogs have loved me, but he loved everybody. I have other dogs, including his father, but he was such a huge loss...so many people loved him, especially kids and people in wheelchairs. I'll never have another like him. RIP, Rowdy...everyone who ever met you loved you.

You did a brilliant job of the shelter and it’s perfect for our Sherpy, so he doesn’t have to get all soggy any more! You’re a great DIYer Jamie! ❤❤
You probably do want to build a door for the mower and make sure water can't in on the side. My father didn't have room in his tool shed for the snowblower so left it outside and put a tarp over it. Couldn't get it going when winter came and eventually found water in the gas tank. Point it you probably want to make sure the mower isn't exposed to the elements, especially when it's going to be sitting for a while during the snowy winter months.
Otherwise looks like a fine little shed.
Thanks for that tip. Our mower was outside this winter and now it's belching smoke.
Jamie I think Sherpa's outdoor room looks bloody brilliant & everything fits perfectly. Don't be worried about minor things that aren't perfectly done... even the stuff professional builders do is not perfect! I think you did a terrific job.

Excellent job, Jamie!! My dad was a corporate attorney, very smart guy, but he also loved building things. It wasn’t always perfect, and he definitely made mistakes he needed to fix, but I think he got more satisfaction from his diy building projects than from his high powered job. I remember just how pleased he would be when he finished them. Thanks for the reminder of my dad, who’s been gone 12 years now. I’m so glad Sherpa loves it too. 🎉🎉🎉 And the summerhouse floor will now stay much cleaner as well. Win all around!!
Are you going to put something on the ground for the sit on lawnmower, as the ground might get bogged down with the wheels.
Maybe..... 🤔🤔
I think your new *SHEP-PORT* looks *FABULOUS!* And, a FYI; definitely leave those openings at the top. Don't close them in. Will keep air flow & circulation going in there. Will keep fresh air ventilation & a breeze going in there for *Sherpa* & all other things stored in there! It's PERFECT! 😉👍❤
I have a suggestion. That lovely wooden bench up against the house can be saved from weather. Here's how to protect a stained wooden bench left outside, you can apply a sealer, varnish, or other outdoor finish. These finishes can protect the wood from water damage, UV rays, and mildew. You should clean the wood before applying the finish, and then reapply it every 1-2 years. How's that sound? It's such a beautiful bench, but looks damaged by all the winter weather.
Sounds great to me!
Jamie, a video from 3 years ago that I somehow missed, popped up yesterday. I had such a good laugh! 😄 It was a day when you and Sherpie were out walking and you kept calling him by names Other Than Sherpa and he kept telling you off. 😆 So glad you got the Jeep roof back home!

Finally the roof has come to your shed
Haha yey 😊
*Jamie, Well done on the build. I have a suggestion for you in the long term. Due to the ground being damp or get really wet... buy a full sheet of Marine Ply to cover that whole ground area or even buy enough concrete slabs (which ever is the cheapest) and put it on the ground under the mower so that the damp doesn't go and rust your mower & blades. Plus you won't ever have to mow in that part of the outdoor build. Then I would also consider putting on a door and lock, so that the thieves can't steal your mower. 🙂.*
I know iv done things wrong with it!!!!
Jamie it's perfect, well done 👍🏼
Jamie, your design and building acumen are astounding! Although he can't tell you, Sherpa .Just be the happiest dog 🐕 😊❤
It's all fantastic Jamie. Sherpa will enjoy his shelter. You deserve to treat yourself now. Have a great evening. 🐕 💖
Brilliant one-handed build, Jamie! And while Sherpa looks cute at all times, he just seemed a little cuter still in hydro today. Maybe his joy over the shed to support his relationship with his grass. What to do next, you ask, Jamie? How about another animation for the next round of BAFTAs and Webbys? Maybe Halloween themed with Sherpa, Nook, Key and Dexter as Cornish Ghostbusters? Or even add Granny, Jodi, Nan and Sarah as the all-female cast? Now that you've got one animation under your belt, it should be easier, so expanding your cast and adding supernatural special effects would keep it challenging. Or you could try your hand at game design and include family and friends in the cast, like Crusoe the Celebrity Dachshund's dad. Then you'll be in command of the ghosts. Happy days, boys 💖
Jamie you have done a great job with the shed for the lawnmower and Sherpa. It looks great. Thank you for sharing his adventures with us around the world. He is so precious and like a good friend ever.

Fab job Jamie. I hate to point this out but Coroline sheets should be fixed with special long nails with an integral sealing washer. They are nailed through the high point of the curve to lessen the chance of water ingress, just tight enough to hold and on every corrugation or the sheets will blow away in a gale. Vids on UA-cam will show how to do it.
Aren't dogs cute when they are asleep. Love you Shepherd.❤❤❤❤❤

Have you decided what to use the other part of the summer house for woodworking, perhaps? My grandfather was a carpenter, and it was heaven to walk into his shop and smell the sawdust. Build yourself a couple of saw horses and maybe build some cabinets to store some of your smaller tools and keep them hidden from prying eyes. I can't wait to watch your next project.
Every dog deserves a hooman like jami9❤
Aw thankyou Tim, I'll happily adopt them all 😊
@@SherpasDayJaime! Do you adopt humans too?! 🤞😜 🐾🐾❤️
Jamie you definitely want to fill the gaps between the walls and the roof. Additionally you should coat the ends of all the boards especially the ones you cut to length. Additionally if you did not get gasketed nails/screws you used to fasten the roof down with otherwise rain water will travel down the shank of the nail/screw causing it to rust and wood to rot prematurely.
That all said Sherpa’s cabana looks good and is something for you to be proud of building.
PS if I were you I would seriously consider getting some heavy Duck cloth and ask Jodie to sew envelopes to store the roof panels in. You want a heavy cloth that can breathe so the Jeep roof panels don’t get moldy or mildew on them. Additionally you might want to consider making a “shelf” that hangs from the roof to place the roof panels on instead of leaning them against a wall where they could be damaged by accident or become warped (ask me how I know)😁
The roof and shelter looks stunning Jamie you have worked hard and it is worth it for Sherpa

Your project looks very good, (I was impressed by your "sraight" neat sawing with a hand saw. Whenever I used to ask my dad to cut a wooden board for me; it always looked like it was chewed off by a shark).
New shed looks great! I love the license plate that refers to his lordship Sherpa properly. 😍
The Sherpa Shack is looking great.. Maybe in the future you could put some flags down or rubber matting to get the lawnmower off the damp ground to prevent the blades from rusting over the winter time.
Lovely new shelter for Sherpa. But, of course, we nosey people have some suggestions. On the side with your tractor - place a weed barrier fabric and then cover it with gravel. Otherwise, the tractor will form ruts and you will need to repair the ground. Can you place the drain pipe you are planning such that it drains into the little stream you have going around your property? For the whole shelter, we are concerned you may need another post besides just the one in the center to hold up the roof. And, how does that roof drain the water - front to back? Wishing you well and giving you a few more things to add to your list 😊
Well done Jamie so proud of you and all for Sherpa…best dog daddy
