I am a Lahori from the last 16+ generations. Before I left Lahore in 1975 for Germany. I use to be a part of these wonderful gatherings at different Sufi shrines scattered in and around Lahore. In those days we only consumed charas... one deep puff from a chillam was enough to stone even an elephant!!! Thank you dear for reminding me of my wonderful roots!!!
I’m glad you enjoyed it, but I really don’t like going this kind of events. Too much intense. These dancing people call themselves sufi I think but I don’t believe. Waiting for your other Lahore videos.
Unfortunately these shrines have become dens of all type of drugs and bhang ( marijuana) and the twirling dervish of Roomi's are really the essence of spirituality not these BHANG smoking/drinking men Ugh Nevertheless your vlog is marvellous 👏
Do you know how many people in the world use psychedelics to achieve some form of spirituality? This may not be in line with rigid islamic ideas but its certainly not unfortunate. Our problem is we want everyone to be in line with what we deem acceptable.

We are really glad you're experiencing different aspects of our country. Travel more and you will find more interesting things here in Pakistan. Welcome!
I live close to the shrine of Shah Jamal where this cult started. Hahaha. I love this! I don't think anyone is doing opium here, it's either hashish or bhang which is liquified cannabis still, but much stronger than smoking it. Also, I see a lot of people overreacting here saying that it is not safe. Its usually pretty safe and harmless, and people just go there to chill out.
Bro, They are there representing one of the most influential branch of Islam and in the mind of tourists or visitors probably creating a false image of Islamic Mysticism. How can they just go high on drugs and chill out in shrines? It might be safe but certainly is malign and need to be discouraged as far as I know. Moreover, These people today have really deteriorated the essence of holiness in these places. It turns out more of like a business for them. I've experienced it myself and I think they should be condemned to mix the false and superstitious beliefs in our pure crystal clear faith. Peace
@@raz0229 Islamic mysticism is farce anyway even since the old days because it promotes the doctrine of wahdat ul-wujood with is incompatible with strict Abrahimic monotheism like Islam or even Judaism. Early Sufi writing by Al-Farabi and Avicenna were based on translated works from platonic works from Greece. I don't really take it all that seriously.

Sufism itself is not acceptable in islam 🤨. According to basic belief of Sufism hafeem and marijuana is not haram . huh .shame on the face of this dirty disease called Sufism. Its not islam at all.
This is quite unfortunate that the drugs are related to Sufism. Sufism is about making connection to your creator, it is definitely not about getting high.
Thank you very much for your visit to our country, this is the dark side of sufiism, the most sufies were bound to the Islamic sharia, this is drug addiction, not sufiism, the drug name is Charas Welcome to Pakistan, enjoy your visit and hospitality of our most people

in public place you cannot take drugs or something but in festival like these some of them get covered and police dont catch them. and this is not real sufism. Sufi is a person who has direct blessings of Allah. The real sufi are still in Pakistan but they are hidden because they just solve your any problem by praying to Allah, without money. Even they will give you food or langar to eat. this is real sufism, rest is drama
Even actual sufis are not attention seekers ,they hide themselves as a normal man, they don't wear specifically dresses. The big example was hazrat Abu zar ghafari. Who leaves his own city because he was exposed as people recognized him as a auliya. They don't want limelight but here the whole situation is something wrong.
Well the aspect of Sufism which preach about caring to the poor & needy or those facing some sort of religious persecution even has actually led to this,it's not the fault of Sufism in between but it's the fault of our rude society which has led people to use drugs.Sufism just took the blame somehow, sufism just provide care to the poor & broken souls, not preach to use any drugs as a way to cure some things up you know, its the people themselves who use those drugs lol
