    Scott, as I said months ago it looks like your cyclic has a huge amount of shake. Both the XE's I owned didn't have any cyclic shake. Your flights would be so much more fun without the vibration. Either Mike Messex or Dwight should be able to cure the problem. Something is not right. You need to have it checked.

    This is amazing! I fly RC drones and helicopters and shoot video with them. I'm too scared of heights to do what you're doing

  • @kdanagger6894
    @kdanagger6894 3 роки тому +2

    It seems the cyclic is still shaking as much as before. It also seems that there is some shaking in the airframe. I agree - this looks a lot like blade tracking.
    It's also possible that you have a mismatched set of rotor blades that deviate from each other with respect to CG in some way. Just guessing. Enjoying your videos.

    • @FlyNavy
      @FlyNavy  3 роки тому +1

      Thanks for the input. I don't think it's a blade match issue since it doesn't appear in a hover. I'm going to try adjusting the blade trim tabs and see if I can get them set for 80 mph.

    That vibration= accelerated wear on pivot points . You need to figure it out for sure quickly so we can keep seeing videos . I’ve got time in 300’s and in the OH6 and none of these machines had cyclic shake what I’m seeing in these.

    good flying, i heard you have to have a pilot certificate, to fly the mosquito XET, and i heard from others that you do not, what are your thoughts?

    • @FlyNavy

      No thoughts. The rules are that for ultralight, no license required. The only Mosquito in that category is the XEL. All the other versions, including the XET, require at least a PPL.

    I am curious what the maint. costs are for the turbo vs. the piston version of the Mosquito? It is my goal to own one of these, but I want it to be as affordable for me as possible! What are your thoughts on this? Thanks.

    • @FlyNavy
      @FlyNavy  3 роки тому

      I don't think the maintenance is any more than for the piston. I haven't documented cost yet, but so far it's not much more than I spend on my car. Getting all the tools for initial setup did cost some money. I spent maybe 600 on special tools or types of tools i didn't have already.

      @@FlyNavy Thanks for the reply buddy! I assume at some point the engine will have to face a tear-down and major overhaul, yes? What will that be like?

    • @FlyNavy
      @FlyNavy  3 роки тому

      Solar turbine is on condition. So no hour requirement for overhaul. I had it overhauled before putting it in the aircraft. Unless you have a hot start or other condition causing an inspection requirement, then no maintenance is required. Change the oil regularly.
