Im pretty sure after this is concert Diz went and told Miles about this bad ass kid named Kenny Garrett who Miles then brought to his band. Miles called Kenny and said sumn about I heard you sound like Sonny Stitt dirty drawers.. rest is history.
AAND Kenny was was about to or just joined Miles Davis electric band around this time until Miles past is September of 1991 so he would have played with FOUR OF THE MOST IMPORTANT AND IFLUENTIAL TRUMPETERS IN JAZZ HISTORY! ...let that sink it
I´ll bring the complete concert out _ today_ sorry but in Germany we have the GEMA problem. youknow? But now I say FY_ please download the complete concerts than before they´ll cut me this video. Best for You, Eddy
Till this day, I am thoroughly convinced that Kenny Garett is the best jazz saxophonist to ever live.
In my top 10 of all time for sure. On alto, top 5.
@@DarkeningSkies1 💯💯
One of the most boring sax players. His style is quite ugly.
i know what you mean. for me, he's the REAL kenny g!
I totally agree 💯
Dizzy and Freddie are always my fave trumpeters, but this is Woody’s *show. He’s clearly got a message and knows how to deliver it. Just amazing!
INCREDIBLE !!!! the video of paradise
OH my goodness, what a incredible display of jazziness. Three of the greatest jazz trumpet players under one roof.
One of my favorite parts is at 11:21, the smile on Dizzys face while Woody is playing that diminished lick
I gotta learn me that lick
Wow , Woody on fire! wow!
Woody was in the stratosphere, one of a kind
Sure miss you Freddie Hubbard!
Woody and Hubbard are *so happy* to see Diz.

At this time the respective ages of Dizzy, Freddie, Woody and Kenny were 68, 47, 40, 25.
