Brilliant video. Im in the Borders, and recovering from a bad off on a black MTB route, so think these rides will be my staple when recovered ... thank you for the introduction and the excellent filming. Much appreciated.

I hit that concrete water bar too, bikepacking during the summer.
When it’s windy I avoid the Lammermuirs, just too barren with zero shelter.

Was going to head into the Lamermuirs today but I know what you mean about the wind, which is high today. Body is a bit tired so watched your vid and had a bath...next best thing 😃

Looks a great route and all that free resistance training lol. I do like the descriptions in Ed’s book, I tend to photograph them for when I’m on route. I did adapt his Glen Feshie route though as even though I was a roadie I hate tar on the gravel bike and there was good options.
I’ll miss the vids if you go to less in the winter but as a suggestion how about doing stuff like your cycling journey into gravel riding. Looking at your filming kit, bike packing gear etc

Carrying the book with me was an accident as I left it in my bag from the intro scene, oops. I still think roads can be enjoyable and haven't completely lost hope with road cycling yet, so still incorporate some to give the old bones a rest sometimes.
Your suggestions are interesting, I have considered stuff like that before but decided actually I am pretty boring to talk about so never really branched into subjects other than me on the bike miss pronouncing everything I ride through. But maybe I could do some other stuff...who knows!

I find it quite interesting to hear other folks journeys into cycling and gravel, their motivation and reasons for doing so. As Simon Parker said it’s all about asking the right questions. We all think we are quite boring but for some reason others can find us interesting and inspirational.

Wind is the cyclists greatest enemy.
