Solid, in depth and honest review! I was looking to upgrade and get a new release and The Tru Fire Hardcore just went on sale at Cabela's. Wanted to see if there was anything on UA-cam about it and came across your channel. I'm sold on the Hardcore release, thanks for the great info dude!! Off to Cabela's I go....

I have the trufire hardcore lockback and have been eyeing the new trufire exert flex version. I also like my hardcore but have been using my stan xtinction primarily due to the zero travel trigger. I'm more accurate with the stan for sure. That 1.5 sear and zero travel is awesome along with the reverse hook.

I used a TruFire Split Fire release & a metal D-loop for decades. Once I switched to using a string D-loop, I've been using the TruFire Hardcore Buckle Foldback Max. I like it for the same reasons shared here. The Max version has a more padded wrist strap, & the price reflects that when shopping for one. FYI - He was using the Max version for this video.

After owning both, my choice is the wise guy with the boa system. My accuracy has undeniably improved. It's really a preference like you said, shoot what works for you.

I keep coming back to the Truefire releases. For hunting in South Western Washington in thick brush I prefer the jaw style. If I'm anticipating taking a shot I clamp onto my d-loop and walk ready. Pushing through Douglas fir or chest height brush I would miss opportunities with anything else. Mid day hikes in prime spots can lead to jumping bedded down elk. Once they stand up you probably can draw back, but feeling around or worse looking for the loop is a no go!
They are hard to beat man. Nothing crazy fancy about them, they just flat out work! Good luck out there 🤙🤙

Appreciate the review. I am taking a serious look at the hardcore. I've heard a few people say the hook will not completely clear the string. This causes the POI to hit left of the aim point. I'm not sure I believe that. There are many more reviews that don't have the problem and if it was an issue the company would of had to correct it by now.
Don’t get it the strap stretches out bad and not built to last
What size Allen key did you use on the truefire to tighten the length adjustable screw?
Had the tru fire chicken wing, went to the spot Hogg because the barrel lock Allen doesn’t hold and the barrel always spins resulting in different pull length. Looks like they might have corrected that issue with this model.

The one thing I likes about the tru fire is ease of one hand putting it on
The Spot Hogg strap felt better and the trigger is better in my opinion. I thought I would be bugged with the fact that the wise guy doesn’t swivel but it just made me more aware to keep my wrist straight and I just shot better with it

Do you loosen the bottom hex nut so it will articulate back and forth?
It will do that when you receive it. Don’t need to loosen it.
When is the best time to buy a new release, in the market for a new one but don’t know if anything is going to come out at the ATA show
Lots of great options out there. I would go ahead and buy one now. I am sure new stuff will come out, but already tons of proven releases out now.

Good review. On a separate note, those glasses are too small for your face. Kinda looks like you're wearing the kid's version of the glasses.
That true fire hardcore buckle is a cheap made release compared to the spot hogg I had 2 true fire releases break on me
