I LOOVE LITTLE WOMEN! IT IS LITERALLY ONE OF MY FAVORITE CHRISTIAN BOOKS EVER! AAHH I'M SO EXCITED TO HEAR WHAT YOU THINK OF IT! I have so many thoughts, but I'll same them for when you actually read the book, haha. What lovely editions! Also, no way, my birthday's in December too. Great month for a birthday :D Have a lovely day!
Very excited to hear your thoughts on some of these. I love little women (I read it in primary school and found it so readable!) and obvs North and South is my all time fave (no pressure 🤣). A tale of two cities is good but I would say it's quite a slog compared to other Dickens. It's also Dickens writing historical fiction so it's a bit different in that way. Villete is the book that I was slogging through last summer. Hopefully you'll find it quicker paced than I did. The Great Gatsby is certainly thought provoking but I read it as a teenage so can't really remember it now 😂. 1984 is excellent but uncomfortable! Tim loves it. I'm hoping to read some more of the various Bronte books at some point soon so look forward to hearing your recommendations!xxx
I know you mentioned in one of your videos you were thinking of getting a kindle I think most classics are free on kindle. When I’ve looked it up before if a book was published after maybe 1920ish the books come out of copyright and are considered public domain!!
Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on these! The classics seem to be very layered and often address a lot of profound thoughts that, certainly from the western ones, are very heavily influenced by Christianity.
I am really excited to hear your thoughts on these because a lot of them I have wanted to read for a long time! I have already read Little Women and North and South. Little Women is gold! One of my favorite books of all time with so much richness and goodness woven throughout it. North and South is a good story. I just didn’t care for the writing. The BBC miniseries of it is an enjoyable adaptation of it if you have a weekend to relax and watch it! Also Masterpiece Theater’s Little Women miniseries is phenomenal as well! Of course, the books have the most to offer, though! ☺️ I have not read Dickens beyond A Christmas Carol- and it was wonderful- but A Tale of Two Cities was highly recommended by my homeschool writing instructor. Macbeth is on my list for my British literature clad in the fall. It will be fun to read it somewhat alongside you!
Great Gatsby was... interesting. Didn't love it, but I read it in college for a class in which I read a bunch of absolute garbage, so it was a bit better. Have you read Christmas Carol? Even if you didn't like Dickens's long work, try that one! I enjoyed Shakespeare quite a bit! Just as a note, though, Macbeth does include witches. I enjoyed Tenant of Wildfell Hall, Jane Eyre, and Villette! And Wuthering Heights is...weird. Ooh, that adaptation of Persuasion. 😳😳😳😳 Little Women and North and South! I think you'll love those. 😊

The way you're making me make a list of all these books, so that I can read them too🙈
Girllllll I hope they all turn out to be good reads then 😩😅🫶🏼
