i would like to see them offer different focusers. maybe a 2.5" for the visual people & this 3.5" for the imagers. of course there should be a price difference. i also wished there was a 150mm version

What scope did you get ?seen a couple of reviews, they seem like a pretty good Apo for astrophotography, obviously not the best but the apo 140 is only 2700 bucks ,compared to Skywstcher 120 at 4500 bucks on sale ? I'm from Canada that why I posted the price even 120 is 2300 and the 103 is 1300 or 1400 Canadian, seems like decent price ,even the reviews from Nico seem pretty honest ,would like to get apo have achro 150 used 600 if I remember lol and 12 Cassgrain ,just would like to no which scope you got ?

I would feel better about your scopes if you say what glass you are using and provide more detailed information on the tested optical quality. I have seen posts that some scopes have been returned due to optical issues too. I am concerned about quality control.
Hello😊, 140APO and 185APO are both triplet air-spaced APO lens design, including one piece of ED glass. We do not differentiate between specific models and refer to them collectively as ED glass.
Does anyone know the difference between the PHQ vs APO series for Askar telescopes. My understanding is that PHQ uses FPL-53 glass intended for astrophotography, and APO uses FPL-51 glass intended for visual. Is this correct?
FPL-51 is not 'intended for visual'. The different glass types just offer different corrective abilities. FPL-53 glass is better at correcting chromatic aberration than 51 is. However, just because a telescope uses a specific glass type doesn't immediately tell you about how it will function. The quality of the construction of the lenses as well as the construction of the telescope itself will determine how well it will actually correct. It is possible for a FPL-53 glass to correct quite poorly due to a lack of quality, whereas a FPL-51 telescope can correct quite well due to good quality. But FPL-51 is in no way "visual grade glass". When you pay a premium for telescopes, you pay for build quality. The glass is basically universal.
I guess their apo uses one ED and PHQ uses two EDs and both are FPL51 or equivalent otherwise they would sat it out loud.
FK61 it is semi apo
PHQ series have better correction. More ED elements, and more elements period. APO series are triplets. PHQ are quadruplets with 2 ED elements. PHQ have a built in flattener, the APO series does not. They aren't FPL53 or FPL51. They use their own glass that's roughly FPL51 equivalent, however you have to look at it as a system. And as a system the correction is very good.
@@atarkus8 if they had either FPL53 or FPL51 glass they would say so - therefor they have their own glass which may or may not be as good as FPL51. But if it exceeded FPL53 performance they would be talking about that.
I am awaiting an independent review of the 140 APO.
Also I am curious if they plan on making a 0.6 Reducer for these scopes - they have one for the Askar V and I think the 103 APO.

Your video title doesn't really make any sense. Maybe you meant something like "Can you have both a large aperture and high-cost performance at a low price?" or something. Not sure :)
i guess, but these refractors won't be cheap anyway
@@florianoprescu2171 $4799 USD (the price of the 185) isn't cheap, but it's around 1/3 to 1/4 the price of competing telescopes with that aperture. It's my hope the 185 is good for astrophotography, so I'm waiting to see what kind of experiences people have.
@@florianoprescu2171 The current listing price for the 185 one is only $4399, and $1999 for 140 one, which are insanely cheap.
