Looks very interesting I really want to learn this style of combat. I know a lot of people trash on point sparring/kumite but those keyboard warriors dont realize there's a lot of successful mma fighters that have transitioned from karate point sparring to mma very tremendously. Sage northcutt, michael venom page, wonder boy thompson, Michelle waterson to name a few
They fail to realize that all us kumite fighters are holding back on everything. Point kumite is about absolute precision, not force.

Your absolutely right I'm a point karate fighter myself and have won a few gold medals. Nothing major just small local competitions but we also have a light continues category as well which basically a round of kickboxing just less full on. But elite point style fighters are some of the hardest people to read because of the blitzing speed and explosiveness they have

I’ve done karate for 6 years and I have won 4 national titles and 1 international title so I’ve been around I hear a lot of people say it’s not full contact it is full contact but controlled full contact so you can kick and punch to the face as long as it’s controlled an not wild ive had my nose broke fingers broke ribs broke a lot of people make fun of karate but it’s a serous combat sport
For Olimpic this is perfect way of fighting! Speed, beauty and clean technic. But for MMA(If you want to be a MMA fighter) they must to use full contact fights, so I think karate is realy good base for MMA

Remember that karate fighters like the ones in the video have no problem in hitting without control… there’s only one thing they should work on: bjj. It’s not a case if sportive karate fighters are the best in karate combat.

@@dimitristripakis7364 Well, regardless of him being ignorant .. bad-asses deeming traditional martial arts ineffective isn't that great either. while turning martial arts into sports and games rather than an actual effective means of winning a fight might be good for children and casual people it certainly isn't the best outcome.
Besides "MMA" isn't evil or something. it's Mixed Martial Arts whose practitioners are trying to figure out he best combination of Martial Arts to become perfect fighters.
Yes it tends to attract crazy people because no one in their right might would get cut open by elbows or risk get beaten half to death on the ground. but as a real martial artist you can't help but think that there's glory in UFC that can't be found in semi-contact competitions

If you allow all kind of kicks, and allow the continuous fight, you get Kickboxing^^ This is the reason why American Sport Karate is the origin of Kickboxing (former called "Contact Karate") :D

Throughout my school life I was bullied. They mocked me because of my dark skin. And they use to beat me up. No one helped me. I made friends with some of my classmates thinking that they will help me. But when the bullies came they left me and joined the bullies to beat me up with them.
Then I started learning kudo and karate. And I worked day and night to train myself. And then all my bullies avoided any conflict with me.
Now I'm a black belt in karate and I know how it feels to be weak. But the truth is we are not weak its just a state to mind. So I thought of teaching everyone martial arts and rise above bullies. And started a UA-cam channel. Always remember YOU ARE NOT WEAK. YOU ARE MORE THAN WHAT YOU THINK YOURSELF TO BE. NEVER EVER GIVE UP.

no one use maegeri kick...it's a sharp weapon...many karateka knew but many of them use it with unperfect...so the never use it...
Maegeri is sharp weapon, but in Kumite it easy to dodge, even I can dodge it when in Kumite.
U can t rellay use it in kumite, you can easy dodge it...

i always thought that single reverse punch when opponent was down was so ineffective as you might not win. many had no power and can you remember a fight that didnt go to ground.......sometime you will be hit...hard and sometimes you are gonna lose. Its a skillset where you just happen to have we hope better odds. Yamashita's shorin ryu was good for shorter me. some long legged guys with muscles had a good tae kwon emphasis. all relative
