Former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, in an interview with TRT World, expressed his belief that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is a disaster for Israel and that Ben Gvir and Smotrich are “terrible events.”
He referred to Ben Gvir and “his friends” as enemies and butchers, stating: “What I think about Ben Gvir and his friends. I call them enemies. I say that they are butchers. They are that they are killers. They are murderers. They are terrorists.”
Olmert called for Netanyahu to be fired, saying: “I think that he's (Netanyahu) a danger to Israel, that he should be immediately fired.”

There was a possibility to move towards peace. There have been big movements, the handing back of territory to Egypt in return for peace, the Oslo Accords with Yasser Arafat. There's ups and downs but having a government that still believes in peace overall, makes a difference. Netanyahu is a total liar, he wants total Israeli domination over the entire territory, he has no commitment to peace, he has destroyed the Palestinian Authority, and he is actually making it harder for any future government to change course.
The whole world is seeing the TRUTH, Israel. There is no turning back. The world is now knowing what Palestinians have been going through for 75+ years. 🙏🏾

Rabin was the best and alongside Begin the only one who actually made progress towards peace with Arabs. Olmert is maybe much less bad than Bibi, he at least made efforts towards a two state solution and wanted to disoccupy the West Bank and Gaza, but he was also corrupt and a populist talking out of both sides of his mouth
I know a bit about his peace proposal. I liked the parts, going back to pre 1967 borders, and his offer of East Jerusalem. But Abbas didn't take it because he knew Ehud would be facing criminal charges and trial, and the new government would probably rescind the offer. Who knows had things played out differently.

Abou Mazen asked Olmert to start to put on paper the different points of agreements and then Olmert stepped down !! If you don’t believe it , ask Olmert , he always said that if they had had a few more months , they would have reached a final agreement !!

But it was Olmert who allowed Hamas to takeover Gaza when he surrendered it to the PA withdrawing all IDF forces & expelling the 7000 Jews who called Gaza home.
