Giving bayat is not bidha, in surah falaq Allah talks about the sahabi taking bayat from the prophet Muhammad(saw) . Taking bayat is following quran take the quran and see

I really do not understand this false division between Salafi and Hanafi. Any true Salafi would also follow imam Abu Haneefah because he was a tabi'ee, one of the Salaf. All 4 imams were tabi'een. People need to get rid of this misconception.

Even if that were true, do we address a fault of another in this way without first highlighting their positive efforts? Saying "I am right and they are wrong" must be said in a loving way like "May Allah guide him, brother Mufti has many good qualities, he inspires people he is cheerful, he has compassion etc etc but unfortunately the X,YZ is not in accordance with Islam and this can cause problems for us, May Allah guide him". They followed the words of muhammad saw. If you follow muhammad saw then you would know this ummah will be divided into 73 sects and 1 sect will be correct. It is obligatory upon you to accept this and not come up with this false idea that this ummah will never be divided as this thought and belief goes against the saying of muhammad saw, untill the mahdi comes. No brother people shouldn’t listen to him because he is not upon the way of the companions. The companions and their students (the Salaf as-Salih) would call to tawheed in details, warn against shirk in details, call to sunnah in details, and warn against bidah in details. He does not do any of those things.
The concept of an oath of allegiance is a bidah if the people consider it to be a part of the sunnah and put more emphasis on it than they do for faraiz/wajibat. Deobandis do not. And Hanafis are Maturidi in Aqeedah. Your sheikh is misinformed.

Menk was taught at a deobandi madrasah , in which he is a deobandi. Deobandi's have major aqeedah and tawheed issues which makes them upon baatil and jaahilliyah.

It is obligatory upon the Muslim to follow the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), according to the way of the righteous salaf who followed the guidance of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), the Sahaabah and those who followed them - may Allaah be pleased with them all. These people are called Ahl al-Sunnah wa’l-Jamaa’ah (the People of the Sunnah and the Community). Everyone who follows the way brought by the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) is one of them. The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) brought the message of Tawheed (absolute Oneness of Allaah) and rejection of shirk (polytheism, or association of others with Allaah); he called people to worship Allaah alone and none other. With regard to the word “Wahhaabis”, some people use this word to refer to the message of Shaykh Muhammad ibn ‘Abd al-Wahhaab ibn Sulaymaan al-Tameemi al-Hanbali (may Allaah have mercy on him), and they call him and his followers Wahhaabis. Everyone who has any knowledge of the movement of Shaykh Muhammad ibn ‘Abd al-Wahhaab (may Allaah have mercy on him) and his message knows that he sought to spread the message of pure Tawheed and to warn against shirk in all its forms, such as attachment to the dead, or to trees and rocks, etc. In his ‘aqeedah (belief), he was following the way of the righteous Salaf and the Taabi’een [i.e., the earliest generations of Islam], as is indicated by his books and fatwas, and the books of his followers among his sons and grandsons and others. All of these books are in print and are in circulation among the people. His message was in accordance with the Book of Allaah and the Sunnah of His Messenger (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). Wahhaabism is not a new way or a new school of thought; rather it is a call to Tawheed and the revival of aspects of the religion that had been forgotten. What you have to do is to beware of those who warn you against the Wahhaabis, because they are warning you against following the truth and the early generation of this ummah. Applying the word “Wahhaabis” to those who adhere to correct belief and warning people against them is the way of the ignorant and biased. We ask Allaah to keep you safe and sound. As he clarified no matter how coddling Menk’s words are, his attunement to his Creed which is now blatantly open forces him to portray Islam in his Creed’s methodology. This is why it’s a fitnah.
All is simple, stay away from such deviants, and acquire knowledge according to the manhaj of ashabul hadith. I really do not understand this false division between Salafi and Hanafi. Any true Salafi would also follow imam Abu Haneefah because he was a tabi'ee, one of the Salaf. All 4 imams were tabi'een. People need to get rid of this misconception.

Even if that were true, do we address a fault of another in this way without first highlighting their positive efforts? Saying "I am right and they are wrong" must be said in a loving way like "May Allah guide him, brother Mufti has many good qualities, he inspires people he is cheerful, he has compassion etc etc but unfortunately the X,YZ is not in accordance with Islam and this can cause problems for us, May Allah guide him".

The companions and their students (the Salaf as-Salih) would call to tawheed in details, warn against shirk in details, call to sunnah in details, and warn against bidah in details. The concept of an oath of allegiance is a bidah if the people consider it to be a part of the sunnah and put more emphasis on it than they do for faraiz/wajibat. Deobandis do not. And Hanafis are Maturidi in Aqeedah. Your sheikh is misinformed.

I have a problem and need help with it. Every family member of mine listens to mufti menk. And even though he has benefited them in some ways with his lectures and reminders. They are now idolizing him to the point that when I point out that mufti menk is a human that makes mistakes like all of us, that they then start to attack me.
And saying “who do you think you are to criticize a great scholar of Islam. You are not on his level and he is much more knowledgeable than you.”
Even when I show them clear cut ahadith and ayat from the Quran that shows that he is contradicting the deen of Allah.

“Following (ittibaa’) means that a man follows what comes from the Prophet (sallallaahu `alaihi wa sallam) and his Companions; after the Successors, he has a choice.”

“The opinion of Awzaa’i, the opinion of Maalik, the opinion of Abu Haneefah: all of it is opinion, and it is all equal in my eyes. However, the proof is in the narrations (from the Prophet (sallallaahu `alaihi wa sallam) and his Companions).”
{Ibn `Abdul Barr in Jaami’ Bayaan al-‘Ilm (2/149)}.
Note that laymen Muslims should NOT make their own ijtihad, they should refer to the ijtihad made by the 4 imams, and if any of their fiqh rulings is found to be incorrect when compared with the sunnah, or one is more correct than another, then abandon the incorrect or less correct ruling.

It is obligatory upon the Muslim to follow the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), according to the way of the righteous salaf who followed the guidance of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), the Sahaabah and those who followed them - may Allaah be pleased with them all. These people are called Ahl al-Sunnah wa’l-Jamaa’ah (the People of the Sunnah and the Community). Everyone who follows the way brought by the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) is one of them. The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) brought the message of Tawheed (absolute Oneness of Allaah) and rejection of shirk (polytheism, or association of others with Allaah); he called people to worship Allaah alone and none other. With regard to the word “Wahhaabis”, some people use this word to refer to the message of Shaykh Muhammad ibn ‘Abd al-Wahhaab ibn Sulaymaan al-Tameemi al-Hanbali (may Allaah have mercy on him), and they call him and his followers Wahhaabis. Everyone who has any knowledge of the movement of Shaykh Muhammad ibn ‘Abd al-Wahhaab (may Allaah have mercy on him) and his message knows that he sought to spread the message of pure Tawheed and to warn against shirk in all its forms, such as attachment to the dead, or to trees and rocks, etc. In his ‘aqeedah (belief), he was following the way of the righteous Salaf and the Taabi’een [i.e., the earliest generations of Islam], as is indicated by his books and fatwas, and the books of his followers among his sons and grandsons and others. All of these books are in print and are in circulation among the people. His message was in accordance with the Book of Allaah and the Sunnah of His Messenger (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). Wahhaabism is not a new way or a new school of thought; rather it is a call to Tawheed and the revival of aspects of the religion that had been forgotten. What you have to do is to beware of those who warn you against the Wahhaabis, because they are warning you against following the truth and the early generation of this ummah. Applying the word “Wahhaabis” to those who adhere to correct belief and warning people against them is the way of the ignorant and biased. We ask Allaah to keep you safe and sound.
