When Amazon Book Categories in KDP don't exist for your book

When I was picking the categories in Amazon KDP for Interview with a #Vanlifer I could pick vampires, horror or vampires, ya romance.
For all the niche categories we hear about on Amazon for books, there wasn't one for my hippy vampires. I could pick satire and short story. So when I had to define my vampires I picked horror. The vampires are friendly, the encroaching climate crisis is horrifying.

That’s so strange, especially since I thought the whole vampire genre exploded several years ago. You would have thought the categories would have expanded with it.

Apparently it only exploded into ya romance lol

Yeah, my genre is very rare-Christian fantasy. I also prefer YA books because they’re toned down regarding stuff like sex, violence, profanity and the occult. Just how clean is your novel?
