  • I've been eyeing up this steep, double roll feature since seeing it for the first time last year. The corner between the two is the hardest part, you really have to lean into it and have good brake control.
    In the past I've ridden just the bottom roll to get a feel for the speed. Today, I tried to string it all together after a few warm up laps!

    Talk about commitment or bust. All of that trail was steep and sounded LOOSE! Props for running it back, win or lose that was raw

    Gnarly feature! Definitely looks like its hard to scrub speed after the first roll

      Totally, the corner is so committing. Stood me up every time 🤣

    Great to see it still rideable, lived at the bottom for two winters and did my best to keep it raked and clear of deadfall but it's been a couple years. Crazy to think that neither of those were rolls when filmed for Mark's segment.

      Absolutely absurd those weren’t rolls. So damn gnarly, tough trail for sure!

      Fair, older footage. Been working on my camera angles a bit. I do way more on vertical platforms so tough to strike a balance.

    Weren't these drops initially when built for the video? Imagine making the corner then.

      Yup, I can’t manage to do it now. Certain death for me if it was a drip 🤣💀

      @@jordanchaplinmtb I think I saw a video where Dean did them and it looks so easy. I watch you ride so much stuff that I won't even ride and make it look effortless, just wild to see the range.

      @@TheGeoffreyDyck From my bad memory there was no woodwork in the video, just huge dirt to dirt step downs.

    Doesn't help that the corner was blown out and super loose/dusty. Was this footage from the summer?

    • @jordanchaplinmtb
      @jordanchaplinmtb  Рік тому

      Exactly, I’d probably have better luck with some moist dirt. Yup that’s older footage from the start of summer!

    Where the heck was that? It's one of the rare videos where it actually looks scarier POV than is does from below... Not that I would attempt it either way 🙂
