I just realized this could eventually mean Ferrari wont have a Junior team.
"This part of the video is not sponsored "
UA-cam: ad break now!! 😂
Lol
That happened for me as well... Law being self aware with his ad breaks, I see XD
You can’t stop You Tube no matter what you try…
if Toyota comes back, we need Panasonic as sponsor on that rear wing
Iconic
it could happen since Toyota and Panasonic have a joint venture for manufacturing batteries for ev's
If I see red white Panasonic Toyota I'll feel like kid again 😢
All these teams shaking it up and still they won't allow Andretti join
If I may request a video during the summer break
The entire story of F1 vs Andretti up till now please
Conspiracy theory: This will be a marketing deal for Haas and could turn into a new sponsor model for them. Haas sells CNC equipment. Toyota is 1 of if not the largest car maker in the world. Why not say "Hey Toyota buy a half billion in equipment and I'll put you on my F1 cars for a few seasons". This would be a brilliant marketing angle to get business that no other company can really offer in terms of exposure. Haas is his own primary sponsor at this point so why not?
It would be true if Toyota wouldn't be as interested in an F1 entry. But since now there is no financial situation to put them in a pickle and because they have more experience working outside Japan and their culture, they're most likely to be involved in the team itself, and if the luck strikes [ ;) ], even take over the team in case Haas exists
And doesn't Japan already make some of the best cnc machines? Dmg mori, okuma, makino, mazak, Komatsu, just to name a few. Last I checked, 2 of the top3 machinist brands in the world are japanese.
Only reason why not is all the better cnc machine companies from japan id imagine they already use rather than haas. Its a downgrade.
If Toyota is planning on return to F1 with Hass that might mean Genes Nascar team may move from ford to Toyota as well. (Hass racing in nascar was remarkably unhappy with their allinance with ford for the last 4-5 years)
Potentially!
Stewart Haas is closing shop at the end of this season.... so doubtful.
@@chadwickmorehead5115While you are correct, Gene (who owned the team before Tony Stewart got involved) has said he wants to keep a charter. So….Haas lives on.
@@leghumper83 charters are set to expire at the end of the season. I know the team owners are fighting to make them permanent.... we'll see.
@@chadwickmorehead5115 Gene Haas is keeping one cup car and a Xfinety car.
I remember back in the day when I was a big Indy/CART fan, if a cars rears locked up and spun out you knew right away it was a Toyota engine
Really miss that Target livery... And Alex Zenardi...
I would love to see BMW return.
It will never happen, but having all the major German makers together would be nice.
True. I can easily imagine more interest coming along in 2030 if Stefano's interest in e-fuels with combustion engines plays out.
If they did come back, I’ve a feeling their engines would be better than Mercedes’, although, eventually. Remember Montoya driving that Williams at Monza? 😍
BMW Already said many times they don't want to come back to f1 & have no interest in doing so.
I would love to see BMW fall apart as a company and never return again
No more stupendously ugly cars and subscription model options, bye bye shitty overpriced cars
@@ExodiaNecross2until the market demands it.
It’ll be really interesting to see Toyota come back to F1 under the GR imprint. There’s a cool story to the gazoo racing brand in general - a young erAkio Toyoda wasn’t allowed to go racing so he made the team behind his family’s back with his teacher/toyota’s lead test driver. They paid for everything with their own money and raced under pseudonyms to avoid getting busted. Gazoo was akio toyoda’s blog, hence the team name.
I mean, with a Japanese Team Principal its certainly a possibility.
Maybe they might even recruit Yuki Tsunoda once Ocon naturally fights with the teammate and gets fired again.😂
Ocon hasn't even signed with Haas yet
@@hagamapama Let's hope it stays that way.
I don't think it's an acceptable thing in Japanese culture to move from Honda (who's nurtured him since he was young) to Toyota their biggest rival. Plus Toyota has Miyata in F2 for the very reason that they are potentially looking to re-enter F1.
I want to see Kamui Kobayashi back on the grid. The man feared nobody!
@@cg_2k72 Yeah here in Japan moving from Honda to Toyota is like moving from Ferrari to Mercedes...it's definitely an unlikely move
Toyota is one of the best at keeping secrets. They had their NASCAR engine in development years before the entered. We were drag racing with TRD in 2000 and we saw the engine on the dyno in Irvin Ca.
hell yeah thats wicked
Oh yeah, I forgot that TRD have a facility in Irvine, CA. I mean, it's not technically in Irvine as it's on the western side of John Wayne Airport (which is owned by the city of Costa Mesa). I have seen it heard engine work going on there.
Well, some observations:
1. Dallara makes good cars for series where they are the only chassis manufacturer. Their track record in F1 where they have to compete with a lot of different chassis builders, is, to put it kindly, abysmal.
2. Ferrari has supplied customer engines to teams for over 30 years now. The sumtotal of success of these teams is 1 (one!) race win (Vettels first win in the Monza monsoon)
Fundamentally, if you are using Ferrari engines, you’ve effectively made a statement that winning races isn’t important. If you toss Dallara on top of that, it becomes something along the lines of ‘scoring points isn’t all that important to us either’.
So with that in mind…Haas transitioning to an increasing level of involvement from Toyota isn’t a good idea - it’s a GREAT idea. Even if it is a long term process and likely won’t fully materialize until the end of the decade, it actually would demonstrate a more serious commitment to be something other than Gene Haas’ promotional junket for prospective customers. This literally the first time I’ve been enthusiastic about anything related to Haas lately, so it also makes me think that this might be too good to be true. But by all means - make it so!
A Haas/Toyota works team? If this is true, then we're entering into the second manufacturer era
Imagine Ford VCARB, Honda Aston Martin, Cadillac Williams, Toyota Haas.
Cadillac was confirmed for 28 but has a partnership with andretti. I'd be surprised if they abandoned mercedes n Cadillac was who they convinced. Would be cool
@@HoldenMaGroin-ne6vv . F1 teams won't let Andretti in. Cadillac wants to sponsor a team. Williams needs a sponsor. Fairly straightforward I'd think.
@@hagamapamaWilliams extended their engine deal with mercedes until 2030 so I don't see why Cadillac would want to sponsor them. I think and hope they're all in with Andretti and can help pressure f1 into accepting them
@@hagamapamaCadillac has signed for an engine for the 2028 season so there’s gonna have to be a team with their engine in it
Komatsu has not been given enough credit!
Hyundai wants in, Toyota maybe, Andretti definitely, Audi taking over Sauber and Ford coming back with Red Bull? This is crazy to think when you go back some years. I love it
Hyundai wants in? What am I missing?
@@AnomalousFerretYeah there's a rumor going around that Hyundai are potentially interested into entering Formula One.
@@NewtypeCommander 🤣🤣🤣🤣Hyundai and engines??? They are better off in Formula e
@@emikomina My guess is that their entry would be under the Genesis sub-brand, much like the Andretti-Cadillac bid.
Haas and Toyota would make sense for NASCAR aswell now that SHR is being folded.
Steiner leaving was honestly a blessing... You can see how the team has blossomed in such a short period of time. After that first year, the team fizzled out.... He is strong presence, and I personally like him, but we know 10000% Toyota would have NEVER worked with him.
Yeah! Bring in Toyota and give Kalle Rovanperä a chance to test an F1 car! That young man is so talented I'm sure there's possibility he might be a very decent F1-driver with a bit of practice.
I've been thinking about this aswell lately. I feel like the man would have more talent than half the F1 grid,
Please god no don't put Kalle in F1. He deserves better than that
I just want Kamui back
Fun fact: Ferrari wanted to take Jarno Trulli on for 2006 over Felipe Massa but he declined as he was committed to Toyota's rather expensive failed plan
What an idiot Jarno was with that.
@@ariansmoviestbf to him Toyota were in a better place than Ferrari for 2005
Ferrari only finished ahead of Toyota in the WCC because of the farce that was Indy that year and them scoring the maximum 18 points. In 05 Toyota really did look like on the up
Still a foolish mistake by the train conductor though lol
@@RANDOMZBOSSMAN1 yeah Toyota F1 2006 really did regressed.
If Toyota join if one it’ll be an actual American/Japanese TEAM! As an American we love our Toyotas
The great gazoo was the best flintstones character
GAZOO, needed a smile,,APPLAUSE!
I am a HAAS fan, just because of being the only US team, but I recoil at the thought of Ocon being a part of the team. I feel like they really need a team player who is going to at least think of the team first. I don't see where Ocon would be a net benefit to the team, as he is a liability at the moment. Maybe he could play nice, but to me, it would just put Bearman right where Mick was with Mazepin and a bit with KMag. Rookies need time to develop, build understanding and, more importantly, a teammate who isn't going to send it from 3 zip codes back on them and risk a double DNF for no points-paying positions. To me, it really boils down to I don't trust Ocon in a high-pressure situation to focus on the big picture as opposed to only valuing his stat lines. It would feel like a step back if they got Ocon from my perspective. Love the videos, LawVS!
I like a good redemption story. Bring them in.
Toyota is now using a black livery in WEC and rally.
Ritomo Miyata has the same livery in f2 and it looks great
I am glad that at least one F1tuber acknowledges that the bridgestone tires were absolutely abysmal compared to the Michelins. I can't tell you how many people believe in conspiracy theories that the Bridgestones were light years ahead of Michelins secretly giving an inconquerable edge to Ferrari in an exclusive backrooms deal. Something that easily disproven through the fact that both of those tires are still available for trackrunners with cars from those old years, and slapping on both of them consistently shows that the Michelins were much better almost all around. Yes, even on the ferrari car, which was shown on an F2001 during a random track event.
Ross Brawn even admits in his book that Bridgestone pretty much made the tyres for Ferrari in the latter years of their tenure as they were the only major team left using them, fostering a strong bond...at the cost of the other runners using them
@@LawVS This is true, but my point is that while many people seem to be under the impression that that gave Ferrari an insurmountable advantage over the Michelins, it really wasn't the case. In reality, Bridgestone almost exclusive providing for Ferrari I would argue was to their own detriment because of the lack of diverse data feedback compared to Michelin. Michelin had a wealth of data to work with across many top teams, and that resulted in them producing excellent tires that could dance through corners, maintain better surface contact, maintain better temperatures, etc. Michelin was always eager to prove itself the superior provider and in many cases I think it did.
I like the small Mobil 1 dance. It's wholesome
Gazoo was in the Flinstons
Great video keep it up you're doing amazing things 😁👍
Worth noting: Toyota owns Denso. It’s their in house vehicle component brand (think spark plugs, belts, stuff like that)
Which is why it'll probably be on the car.
There's a huge Denso plant in the town over from me. It's gargantuan. In Maryville Tn
It would be great if toyota joins Hass for next season.
Very, very unlikely. Not with Ferrari still using them as a B team, with Bearman confirmed for 2025 AND 2026 regs are hard enough for the teams already on the grid and for Audi that announced atleast 2 year prior. 2030, yes, it’s likely.
@@DrAmithBhat very likely
@@DrAmithBhat Aston Martin were able to switch from a RBR sponsor to a standalone team in a much shorter amount of time.
10:18 You right, Law I always saw Haas as a glorified Ferrari "B-Team" like how I see Williams as a Mercedes "B-Team" so Toyota teaming up with Haas is weird. With Toyota having a relationship with McLaren, it would make sense to team up with Zak Brown instead of Gene Haas. Nevertheless, I would love to see Toyota back in F1, if partnering with Haas is their way in, then so be it.
RIP Stewart-Haas Racing in NASCAR
Welcome Toyota-Haas F1
Another great video
Love starting my morning watching LawVS while making my coffee
Idk, I think it's unlikely with all the facilities Haas has in Italy, but it's F1, anything is possible. I'd think Williams would be more likely place to see Toyota.
I dont get why partnerships in motorsport only seam to stick with one category at the time:
Haas race fords in Nascar so they will partner with Toyota
Andretti races porsches in Fe, And Hondas in IMSA and indy car, so they will partner with GM in F1
Wouldnt it be much better for every manufacter to partner with the same team across all competicions?
Penske races with Chevy in IndyCar and Ford in NASCAR.
It never felt like Toyota was fully committed the last time. Hope they come back and give it a proper go.
You mean with the billion dollars they spent? *narrows eyes*
@SturdivantRacing126 Money was never a problem. Takes more than money to succeed and it always felt like that's all they did. Look at RB. There was a lot of thought, effort and perseverance in what they did and it finally paid off. Mercedes took their time - nearly 20 years from when they came back first as an engine supplier and to finally becoming a fully fledged team that won the WCC (although McLaren won with their engines earlier). Even Papa Stroll is realising it is more than just money that's required.
Not fully committed? They spent like a billion dollars 😂
@mrp9241 Toyota was committed. Just not effective.
Under your approach, every team that quit F1 wasn't committed.
@SturdivantRacing126 McLaren -15ish years without WDC and about 10 more without WCC - Keeps going
Williams - coming up to 30 years before their next WCC - Keeps going
Ferrari - 15 years with similar gaps through their history - Keeps going
Even Renault/Alpine has been around for 20ish years since the last WCC
Sauber kept going for so long without a sniff of a race victory.
Toyota - after 7 or so years - Ah, forget it.
That sort of timeframe is to be expected from a Private Equity fund, not a serious F1 team, or the world's largest auto manufacturer
Toyota is pretty anti 100% EV cars and motors and are pretty outspoken about it, which i like l. They would much prefer to spend their resources in innovating the hydrogen fuel cell engine which produces water as a by-product
I've been a HAAS fan since they entered, but I have to say that if F1 Management approves Toyota approves them coming back, Andretti would be wholly justified in seeking F1 to be BANNED in the USA, TV and all, and I think he would be right.
It's not really the same though, haas is already in f1. I still think that f1 keeping Andretti out is ridiculous
Andretti should not be approved for F1, they bring nothing to the sport. Rodin should get a seat first. They have what F2, F3, F4 F1 Academy and others. Andretti just wants a top table but no commitment to the talent development funnel.
Nothing is stopping Andretti from buying a team already on the grid. That's formula 1s preferred way of doing things.
@@desshinnick9365 Andretti wants to set up an F2 team from what he has said to local press in Indiana.
@@JasonAtlas He has been trying to buy one, when that failed he connected with Caddy and tried to go it alone. Is he going about it the right way, maybe not. But he did try. 🤷♂
love the Toyota Livieries Denso etc... the 1990s LE Mans cars- stunners!
Reliant needs to become a sponsor
Id love them the buy RB
I can see toyota spending a few years with haas and then start developing their own engines again
It definitely would be nice for Toyota to come back to f1
As an American, we don’t claim Haas 😂 give us Andretti.
Come on!! It'd be awesome to see Toyota back.
This rumor (if true) makes an Andretti addition to F1 even more mouth-watering. Because, as a nascar fan as well, the prospect of the NASCAR trio also taking the fight to another sport sounds so cool to me.
Windshear Tunnel is not in the UK. It's in Charlotte, NC. It's probably the best full size rolling road tunnel in the world. Gene Haas owns it. Unfortunately, it's pretty much useless to Haas F1 because FIA bans the use of full size tunnels. F1 has to use I believe half scale tunnels.
That would be awesome. Hope it happens.
i hope it comes true, i would love to see Toyota in F1!
Imagine if we get 'Toyota Gazoo Racing'
I love the sound of that
ewww
U forgot to mention tototas wec car runs a v6 hybrid so these rumours could hold true
Ocon would be a great partner for Bearman. I think he may have woken up and will behave well. Gasly also does not behave well. I am not confident he's changed.
I really hope to see Toyota back in f1, but I also hope they won't retire from WRC or WEC...
Cool! That’s like celebrating a new Milli Vanilli- Vanilla Ice colab album. Could work.
So F1 wants auto makers to come back but don’t want GM?
I would have definitely seen/believed a new HAAS era, accept they signed Ocon. Poor Bearman he doesn't need that in his first season.
Don’t think there’s anything haas can do to be americas team if Andretti enters 💀
As a clean energy professional, I think you hit upon the driving motivation for Toyota towards the end of your video.
Toyota is currently the only major car company that is not jumping wholesale into the EV trend. Toyota has said many times that they are still betting on the Int Combustion Engine having a return with the advancement with green hydrogen and green fuel advancements.
If F1 shifts back to combustion engines using clean fuel, Toyota will want to be in the mix so they are ready for the day when green hydrogen overtakes the EV trend.
Being a Haas fan was fun but now without KMag & even Hulk who earned all the love in his two seasons at Haas, it’ll be difficult to back Ocon & Bearman.
Applying for F1 teams fandom groups 🤣🤣🤣
As I know this is 100% unrelated but nobody in Britain should ever talk about a heat wave if within 2 weeks somebody can be in their attic wearing two shirts at the same time and not a thin undershirt a legitimate shirt with a thick collared shirt on top of it😂😂😂
I record in the morning before it becomes a furnace. It's much cooler before 11am
If these rumors are true, I wonder if the NASCAR Haas team will switch to Toyota for their rebrand starting in 2025
If this happens I hope that'll be that, and you can finally allow Andretti Cadillac as the 11th team, and stop this Euro nonsense... maybe Alpine can hook up with Hyundai, and Williams hooks up with Dodge, or Lotus makes a return.
If Hyundai’s actually joining F1, we’d probably get Squirrel Irritable back.
@DrAmithBhat to be fair, if F1 is actually the pinnacle of sport as it proclaims, I don't want to see 5 Mercedes engines out there... even in that F1 movie Brat Pitt's team has a Merc engine.
As the resident WEC fan I’m all for this
Would be nice to see how Toyota would do in F1 again. Same with BMW and Peugeot...
Toyota said a few years ago that hydrogen fuel cells were the future and what they were focusing on for green energy over electric, it seem they have little interest in battery powered cars unless its a hybrid.
Now we just need BMW to put a foot back in, and we'll have the band back together.
So true, behing Williams and Sauber.
Does that mean haas nascar team be à toyota team ?
Do make Video on RedBull Ford partnership.
It's possible. Toyota has been smashing it in the WRC since they made their return the sport after a long hiatus.
I'm calling it Sergio Perez to Hass Toyota 2026. Strangers things have happened.
I'm going with not in F1. If he gets dropped from the Red Bull group of cars then I expect all doors are closed to him in F1.
Haas + Toyota + Newey
Kmag willing to get possible race ban to get his teammate points.
Ocon willing to get a possible race ban to make sure he finishes in front of his teammate.
One will be much better for a rookie driver.
Getting closer to 40 myself. I like watching cars drive in circles, really fast.
They told me it was just a phase when I was a kid, look who's laughing now!
You reminded me of the Kazoo kid hahaha
GR Haas has a good ring to it
I can’t see how this is going to happen. Ferrari wouldn’t have allowed Haas to sign Oliver Bearman for next season.
I hope F1 pushes the 2026 regs back to 2028, this current regulations cycle is bringing in some of the most exciting racing in years, yes, 2022 & 2023 weren’t amazing in terms of the title fight but the racing has been much better than the late 2010’s.
This way they can get the new engine regs and aero regs for the same year and 2028 becomes a massive shift.
Can you do a team rating for the first half of the season
Toyota management was to blame for their F1 woes. You can’t run an F1 team by committee.
If Toyota gets together with Haas, Haas can stop crushing cans to pay bills.
Consider nhow dominated they on wec , pretty sure they are now ready on hybrids era
Haas can't be making the greatest decisions of they're eyeing a contract with Ocon.😂
But as a Gazoo Racing fan, I'd be happy to see Toyota in F1.
How is everyone sayin HAAS is not an American team..?? the owner, Gene haas is American.. HAAS automotive..is American business..seems pretty American to me ...
I don't see it happening. Toyota might just pull a r&d hand for Haas with a few badges on their cars in return, but haas just signed a new partnership with Pratt and Miller. the garage responsible for the chevy corvette racing gt3 race cars. That would cause some possible problems for his Nascar and f1 team rebuild between 2 engine suppliers possibly not trusting you not sharing secrets
I love Pocari Sweat 😂
Not true - KMAG did not choose to not run the upgrades at Silverstone - Bearman ran the update in FP1 and damaged beyond repair at the track so KMAG HAD to run the old spec. in both qualifying and race mode. Supposedly that 2-2,5 thenths faster per lap
The idea of Toyota slapping their good name on cars best known for fighting for last position is not a "more measured approach", it's plain ludicrous. And these cars being powered by one of their main rivals in the Hypercar World Endurance Championship, a series which Toyota has been dominating for the last six years, makes it even less likely. The rumours about McLaren and Toyota joning forces i had taken much more serious, as McLaren will need a works partnership where they will have exclusivity, or at least "first dibs", on the engines if they want to have a sniff at titles again (customer teams don't win championships).
Thats interesting as I suspect this Toyota/Haas rumor may just be leverage to get a better deal from Zac Brown who's a wheeler dealer worthy of being a piranha club member. Maybe this rumor will help Toyota get a better deal with McLaren.
@@forgetf1 Well, whatever Zak was cooking, Mumtalakat, i.e. his Bahraini overlords, have since committed to buying Mercedes engines for their F1 team until the 2030 season, so nothing's gonna happen on that front anytime soon.
And if Toyota really wanted in, they're way too late now for the development of powertrains conforming with the next spec cycle beginning in 2026. Me thinks, Toyota is quite happy where they are right now... I'd rather watch out for Cyril and Hyundai (joining forces with Renault, maybe?).
Part of me wonders if Haas would switch to Cadillac engines (if they ever get in), just to seem more ‘American’ to the public and not like a Italian 2nd team
HAAS please, DO NOT sign Ocon for the next year
Yuki on Haas?? Yuki and Bearman lets go. We already have Komatsu as TP that would be fitting.
Yuki for Red Bull please.
Plot twist. toyota was already working on a power unit and has it ready to go lol
I really hope Ocon is not joining Bearman at Haas.
Bearman is a nice guy, he doesn't deserve getting Ocon as a teammate...I guess no one does.
12:41 lol, synthetic fuels will not ever scale to be cheap enough--fine for racing cars, not at all practical for consumers.
Toyota has stopped development on EV's, they are not planning on selling EV's in the future saying hybrids or better for the environment on a whole. They have created an ammonia powered engine, which only emission is nitrogen (no carbon) and is currently being sold and tested in China
Haas is American as you are, friend. We want Andretti. Portmanteau is more fun to say than gazoo, tbh
"This part of the video is not sponsored by anybody"
Why would we get our hopes up for an ad?
Please I beg Ayao don’t sign Ocon😭 he will ruin Ollie‘s potential and make him run for the hills. I truly believe that even though KMag isn’t the greatest driver, he would be a much better influence on Bearman and show him the ways of F1 without crashing into him for his own gain or being incredibly selfish.
