I felt really bad for Varys. But even in death, he didn't hold what Tyrion did against him. Tyrion and him were best friends. Even sadder is Varys was right all along.
childofthorn it’s our country’s midterms today and I never wanted to vote for any senator like I wanted to vote for Varys lol.
Varys’ career depended on being a great judge of character. Knowing the “pieces” intimately made him successful at playing the game
@@bbictorr Yet he failed to read Jon Snow of all characters. Early seasons Varys will never have revealed his game like that, but like anything else all characters have been butchered once no more book material...
Silviu Roman, one could argue tv Varys grew desperate after Tywin’s death. Too many options at the start, too few after Tywin died. Every character has a fatal flaw. His was trying to crown The best highborn, no matter the cost. At this point there aren’t any choices left & he saw Jon as his last hope. Varys knew he was being watched. Down on the beach was the best place to lowkey beg Jon. Idk. I’m rambling & trying to be deep lol

Even though Varys was a eunuch he had some giants balls to stand there fearless and not scream when Drogon stood up and blasted him.
Varys knew what the consequences of his actions were going to be. He had accepting his fate and stayed true to what he believed up until the end. And what he believed came true, every bit of it.

@@Longshanks1690 I'm not saying that she wanted to do it. In the end she did whatever she felt like since she was so frustrated.

@@Longshanks1690 she has always been like that from the beginning of the show, remember her saying “When my dragons are grown, we will take back what was stolen from me and destroy those who wronged me! We will lay waste to armies and burn cities to the ground!”"
The writing has been on the wall for Dany to be a mad queen from very early on, so I don't mind this as an end to her character arc. What I do have a problem with is her going from a subtle, gradual descent to full on genocide in an episode and a half. So much of this season feels rushed and undeserved.
Looks like she was worth jack shit as a leader once her advisors started dying off. All she cared most in the end was revenge.
There was not any graduall decent that bitch has been the same from day one. She had a goal from day one and then she did it. Dany i believe dont give two shits about aby body as long as they bow to her.
Hold up a sec. She's been losing her shit since the start. She watched her own brother be murdered, crucified those shitheads in the bath robes, burned the Tarly's alive. This has been a long time coming. My wife's been like: "Oh, she's just working some stuff out." and I've been like: "Nah, this bitch is insane. All she needs is that spark to ignite the fire." The only thing keeping her anchored was her crew; Ser Barristan, Ser Jorah, Varys, etc. You remove all the voices of reason and she was a ticking time bomb.
@Liz Lee I assume that's severe sarcasm, yes? Are you seriously still on her team? She burned alive millions of men, women and children. As Tyrion said; Put together every single person that Tywin and Cersei murdered and it still wouldn't be as many as Dany killed burning King's Landing to the ground. Keep trying to find an excuse, but, fact is, she was completely insane.
"To be honest, I never really cared much for them"
So that whole bathtub scene back in season 3, where he reveals why he killed the king (to save the citizens of Kings Landing), we're just throwing that out the window?
Let's not do silly things like expect D&D to exhibit consistent writing and characterisation.
YESSSSSSS! JFC. He was such an interesting and conflicted character. And this is how he goes out?
lollypop2414 what did u want him to do? Kill Cersei? When she is pregnant with his child? That would be completely out of character! He is a much better person now than what he was before. So much so that he believes he doesn’t deserve to live because of the things he has done. He has been obsessed with Cersei since he was born. He knows that if they can’t escape, then they need to die together. They came into this world together, and they went out together. Perfect ending for a great character.
@@joshhunt4146 The perfect ending (on the show) would've been him not going back to her at all, and yes I still believe in the books he will be the one to kill Cersei. Cersei shouldn't have died by falling bricks. She deserved to be executed for her own crimes. Just because Dany went mad queen in this episode doesn't mean Cersei wasn't just as bad. The idea that Jaime suddenly doesn't feel sympathy for the innocent people of King's Landing is a load of BS. He killed the Mad King to save those people. He knew Cersei needed to die, just as Dany does now. If they had to have Jaime go back to Cersei on the show it would've been far more poetic if he would've killed her and then committed suicide. The way they went about it meant that all of the character growth he had (mostly with Brienne at this side) was for nothing (not to mention that what he did to Brienne was unforgivable).
lollypop2414 if you think a one night stand with brienne is gonna make him forget Cersei then you haven’t been paying attention. He’s been obsessed with her. Everything he has ever done has been for her. He was always gonna go back to her after winterfell. That was probably the only reason he went, to protect her. The man is a lost cause. He’s like an addict and needs his fix.
I'm wondering if Varys was trying to poison Daenerys at the start. His little bird, Martha, worked in the kitchens, and reported that Daenerys wouldn't eat. Martha was afraid the guards were watching her, but Varys told her the bigger the risk, the bigger the reward. He could have just been referring to spying, but as a kitchen girl, Martha's in a position to tamper with food.
Old comment I know, but thank you for sharing this bc it didn’t make sense to me until now! It was clear that Varys was conspiring & Tyrion told Daeny he betrayed her, but I didn’t realize he went so far as to poison her. It didn’t seem like he had the chance or time, with the way it’s written.🫤

Can we talk about some of the shots in this episode? Incredible cinematic shots. Im talking they belong in museums.
My fav were the moments after the swords were thrown to the ground, then the camera zooms out and we look down to see the image of the massive armies facing each other off. And the final moments of the Clegane bros!

Absolutely gorgeous cinematography. Too bad the writing was so awfully dumb.
@@j.f.l.bousquet1998 How was the writing "so awfully dumb" again? I really don't see it. Please explain to me why was this episode awful?
Daenerys is now listed as a war criminal on Wikipedia. 🤣
Even the fire bombing of Tokyo and Dresden were more merciful than this...
“When my dragons are grown, we will take back what was stolen from me and destroy those who wronged me! We will lay waste to armies and burn cities to the ground!”

while this foreshadows her taking the throne from cersei, the thousands of innnocents she killed never wronged her.its not like they were unfortunate collateral damage while killing the enemy. the enemy literally surrendered. goes against everything shes been.
Zach Sonnenblick Which I get totally, but if you look back at the path her father took it is eerily similar. Started out generous and fair, gradually became more erratic and violent, became paranoid and distrustful by his hand (Tywin Lannister), he then threatened to burn KL. And was stopped beforehand, George has told this story before. I get it, it’s shocking and not the Dany we know. But it’s the story we were told. And the signs were there all along.
I was really curious about how you guys would react to this lol. That moment with Tyrion & Jaime and Arya & Sandor made me choked up. I'm glad Arya chose life over revenge and darkness.
That's DUMB tho, it makes no sense to the arc of Arya the avenger Stark. A wasted arc as Jaime one
MadHouse Jamie’s arc was perfect. He’s a much better person than how he started but there was one thing that he could never give up and that was Cersei. They came in together and went out together. It would have been out of character for him if he killed Cersei.
Yeah, Arya not choosing the revenge route even though she killed Polliver, Rorge, Meryn Trant, Littlefinger and the whole of House Frey for revenge. A liitle bit too late for that, don't you think?
Golden Company?...pffft, weren't even worth their weight in gold.

Episode 4: iron fleet unstoppable with super precision dragon sniping. Episode5. iron fleet cant do sh** misses evry shot
Danny ending up as the madqueen: the issue i have not so much the fact she became the madqueen but more so the execution of the story. forshadowed or not- character arcs are believable if theyre done correctly. just because a character snapped and shat on 7years of storytelling doesnt mean its justifiable to say it was hinted all along. i mean it was just rushed and forced. it didnt even make sense. shes actively done evrything she could to not be like the madking. the same character that freed a city of slaves and never wanted to harm innocents- killing people who wronged her or fought against her in some way- hell...she even locked her dragons away when she was shown one child being burnt- now all of a sudden we should just accept it makes sense she burns a whole city of innocents after already winning. why not just go fly to kill cersei. she spent the whole episode mowing down rows of innocents rather than goin for cersei. wtf
The same danerys that chained her dragons when drogon burned that innocent child in mereen just did that on kingslanding. I was disappointed with what they did with her character. If they wanted a mad queen they should have given it more time!
I mean the foreshadowing that she was a Hitler allegory was always there (no I didn't see it personally). So it's kind of powerful to think so many people were okay with her, or apathetic at best.
But as far as genuine character motivation, nothing really lead to this last decision. She already won.
In a world full of fellow murderers, who was to say she'd become the worst? Now maybe that's the point, how many people could have predicted Hitler at the time? Maybe the signs were there. But if nowhere else, in the show, it was way too fast. She was a nondescript egomaniac who became Hitler in less than a season, if not in a split second. Again... maybe the point.

Oh MY this was CRAZY!!!!
I’m having trouble figuring out who had the worse character assassination this episode - Dany or Jaime?
Help me out peeps.
Dany, Jaime was always a bit up and down and more nuanced for at least 7 seasons.
Dany had a savage and ruthless side, but mostly she was gentle and reasonable up until the very end of season 6.
Here it's like: her heart got broken, 2 of her children and her 'best friend' killed, her most loyal companion dead and her advisors more or less betraying her in just a couple of episodes... so what does she do? Go mad obviously.
I know this show isn't supposed to be realistic, but it's now so far-fetched I can't enjoy it anymore, I'm just confused...
Sorry, can't help you there. All of a sudden neither cares about the innocent... weird.
Jaime. I saw this coming with Dany for a long time, although the shorter seasons made it happen quicker than it should have. Jaime did a 180 in like two seconds flat.
"When enough people make false promises, words stop meaning anything. Then there are no more answers, only better and better lies."👌
Well Winter was coming. Dany just wanted to make sure the citizens were warm.
Remember she asked him not to go behind her back if he felt he could no longer support her then she promised if he actually betrayed her, she would burn him. She kept her part of the bargain, he did not.
I don’t understand why she burned the city first, instead of going straight for the castle to Cersei. There were innocent men, women and children there. It’s so unlike her character that they’ve built up over the past 7 years. She’s always gone out of her way to protect people and with the least amount of casualties. She’s freed hundreds of thousands of slaves, people who weren’t even part of her army. She even locked up two of her babies because the other burned a single child. If GRRM’s end game was Dany going mad I wouldn’t really mind even though she’s my favourite character. But the way D&D are executing it is frustrating cause it seems they’re pushing it too hard when it should have been over a couple seasons. I’m so emotionally exhausted from these past few episodes. ..but I still can’t wait to see the last episode.
I can't wait for the "But she crucified slave masters and didn't cry when her abusive brother was killed! Dany was always a mad Queen!!!" comments
She has been saying she wants to burn cities down since season 4, that's when tyrion had to be like do you wanna be the queen of ashes? and she was like I guess you are right, then she did that anyway lol, It was not a surprise to me
Am I the only one thinking back to when Daenerys warned Varys, "If you ever betray me, I'll burn you alive." I mean..... She fulfilled her promised, and he fulfilled his to her, he warned her that she was making a mistake....

Happy Mother's Day, Nikki.
Happy mothers day beauty! Dany has always been the mad queen. She's literally been burning people alive who wouldn't bend the knee for seasons. The difference is that she previously had advisers that she trusted enough that could actually reigned her in. Also varys has always been the truest protector of the realm, he didn't deserve that shit.
Finally somebody has sence enuff I thank you. Yea Danny has been the same from day one. Shes a narcissistic sociopath with the mind of a teen celebrity armed with a nuclear weapon. Pretty much every person that was on her side every season was dudes kissn her ass and squabling over who she wants.
On Mother’s Day too... Drogon stood with his mamas decision. Mixed emotions, but Dany has lost everyone close to her, part of me understands why she just let loose.
And seriously... Jamie, I was rooting for you. I cant believe how all this is all ending 😬😩
Geez, I hope you don't commit mass murder when someone important in your life die. Dany an evil bitch. She been evil for awhile. People just haven't realize it because they always see her as an under dog. But now she have power, she is a complete tyrant and has no qualm in murdering people. Jon need to kill the bitch.
Dead Pool I did not say I agree with her doing what she did. I said Theres a part of me that understands why someone who went through the things she had gone through, would react the way she did. That does not mean I agree with it. Everyone close to her was either murdered, or betrayed her.
And you say that “now that she has power she is a complete tyrant”. Uh, what do you even mean, she has had an insane amount of power basically since season 3 when she got the unsullied. It’s more then just her having power that is contributing to her killing her enemies. It’s her losing two of her dragons (children) and her closest friends being murdered. (Missandei , Jorah). Along with feeling betrayed by everyone around her.
Based on all I've seen of Varys, I don't believe he would be nearly stupid enough to not only pull a doomed stunt like this but also go and blab it to people especially if its someone like Tyrion can use it to overshadow their own betrayals.
Steven: "never face the Dothraki in a narrow corridor"
Nikki: "...or in an open field"
Beeswax: Let's just agree on "Never face the Dothraki".
Still sad about the horrible writing.
“I will act in their interest, no matter the personal costs.” -Varys
God. I can't believe they just undid Jamie's arc.
They just Thanos'd it away.
Yeah. Killed the fucking Mad King to save the people. j/k never cared, lol!
His scene with Brienne, where he revealed this, was just raw and honest. It showed that he's not that smug asshole he was initially presented as. It's one of the best scenes of the entire show. Yes, he cared about the people.
@@kuhpunkt I'm pretty sure he killed the Mad King mainly because he ordered Jaime to bring him Tywin's head. He cared about his family first, peasants second.
It wasn't like he just allowed the death of all those people, he is still a good person. He just can't help who he loves. Its like he told Bronn, he wanted to die in the arms of the women he loved
"I didn't care about anybody" - still a good person? A good person wouldn't say this. That he still loved Cersei is completely disconnected from that.
Literally hundreds of thousands of humans die:barely a reaction
One horse falls down: omg I can’t look
So emotionally drained but I stayed awake for this one. Happy mother's day Nikki! ❤️
I have been belittled and berated by people for years because of my opinion that Daenerys would do exactly what she did. Right now I am enjoying the fact that I am vindicated, and no amount of screeching from Team Daenerys can undo the sense of satisfaction that I feel now.
Lmao exactly. It was literally leading up to her being the Mad Queen. Been hinted so many times that she carried those traits and people were expecting for her not to go and do that.? Casual fans
@@ExpectTheRevolution I don't believe in the wholesale butchering of innocent men, women and children. When that line is crossed, it's time to put a mad dog down.
@Mariah Sinclair
I despise Daenerys and have been one of her most consistent critics for years but this was stupid.
Dany would not simply murder innocents for no reason. She has always been ruled by a misguided sense of justice. Where is the justice in this?!
Steven :"What will Jon do ?"
Jon : "She's my Queen..."
for those who think it's not right to portrait dany as a mad queen, remember her saying "When my dragons are grown, we will take back what was stolen from me and destroy those who wronged me! We will lay waste to armies and burn cities to the ground!”
Yeah, she also freed slaves and was horrified when one of her dragons killed a child in Mereen. I think they should have eased into her madness, not just made her crazy in 2 episodes
No one noticed how crazy Dany was until this episode.. she's been nuts all along.
I’ve been waiting for your guys reaction ever since the credits started rolling.
Leftism Is Dying And?? That’s Nikki. If you don’t like it, no one is keeping you here by force.
Varys was trying to poison Daenerys with the food, he said "the greater the risk, the greater the reward".
The child saying "she isnt accepting any food".
Varys: "we will have to try again" (if i remember correctly)
Varys to the child: "go on, they will be missing you in the kitchen"
Her saying Happy Mother's day to single fathers earned you a new sub, than you
For the “why did Jon even say anything if he didn’t want to be king?” part, I think Jon said it bc he knows that the truth is always going to get out in a matter of time and it’s better to talk w/ the truth than hide secrets.
Also I think it was totally uncalled for when Dany told Jon never to say anything, bc once the secret gets around and the fact that Dany wanted to cover it up, it going to seem to the people that she tried to keep the right ruler off of the throne. It was going to look like she was the bad person, the usurper. If she came out with it, and showed that Jon was allying herself to Dany, then MAYBE she could have a chance.
Jaime season 3: *tells Brienne, sobbing, about how he actually saves the people because they were innocent by killing his king and being ok with the name "Kingslayer" because at least they were alive* *proceeds to regain honor through arduous journey of self discovery*
Jaime season 8: "I never really cared about them"; Sorry, Brienne. I just really wanted to have sex with another woman for once even though I know you're in love with me
...wow. That is unforgivable character assassination.
Never face the unsullied in an open corridor, unless you’re a rich guy with a golden mask. Then you’re good
If you watched the previously on, there's that one scene where just after Missandei dies, they replay all those little bits of hints of what's to come.
im surprised that none of these reactors to GOT have anything bad to say about how season 8 went down
Because most people exaggerate reactions for views and these reactors are genuine
Nikki said "Single fathers" and that was so wholesome. 🥺 I stan such souls.
True life: Paid a phone 1000€ got it broken in 2sec because fall on the ground
GoT : Paid the Golden Company, died in 2 sec
Mother of Dragons found a hell of a way to celebrate Mother's Day this year.
Sigh, Danaerys. Please drink some green tea. Your nerves are fried, literally 😔
Girl, stop being literally Hitler, think about your choices. Take a spa day.
I liked how the weakness of the new scorpions was exposed. The first Scorpion was ineffective against Drogon because it was too small so it was not powerful enough to penetrate deep...but it was more maneuverable. Bronn could easily move it on his own. These new ones were more powerful and they were able to bring down Rhaegal but he was flying at a cruising speed and they just lined up the shots along his path, the first hit which crippled him and then made him easier to pick with the other volleys from the other ships. However their size made them hard to maneuver. Two men on each side to turn them and elevate them and Drogon is not going at no cruising speed he's in full on afterburner mode the new Scorpions couldn't turn fast enough.
The end of Cersei seems to be kinda inspired from Adol Hitler last moments. When he wanted to give orders to section of his army that didn't even exist anymore.
Nikki is the single cutest person in the world when she says Damnit or shit.
when i saw that horse die i immediately thought about nikki lol
I knew I was going to hear the shriek of dismay ("Not the horses!!") when Strickland and his horse got blown away.. but tell Nikki not to worry... I compared the pattern on his nose and it IS the same horse Arya rides at the end of the episode… so he's OK; just a little dazed.
The Mad Queen is here!
Remember when Jaime told us why he killed the Mad King? How he was going to burn thousands of innocents and have Jaime kill his father, so Jaime broke his oath to save them all? Yeah the writers sort of forgot.
GIRL LETS BE FRIENDS! I forgot to take off my eye makeup and looked like a demented panda bear after that Tyrion and Jamie scene!!!
Missandei last words to Danerys....."Drakarys"....she knew what that meant. How can anyone be mad at that.
Working on part 2, will be posted as soon as possible!! Thanks everyone!!!!
We're waiting! Best chanel ever. Loveya guys.
Nikki & Steven React I find myself always staying up for your reactions. Thanks for posting them so quickly! Happy Mother’s Day btw!
