This is the content I subscribed for all those years ago.
Preach. Not a Nas X fan and I'd take listening to death metal over anything else 90% of the time, but nothing steams my broccoli more than fucking metal elitists. There's nothing wrong with expanding your tastes and broadening your musical interests, and in fact there's everything right with it. There's a huge world of amazing music out there whether it's hip hop, rap, folk, reggae, trap, afropop, jazz, tech death, electronic, ambient, fusion, prog, or whatever else in between. Just be a shame to miss out on it all by pigeon holing your tastes and being an asshole about it in the process.
is better too be a snob give everything a try but if you don't like it you don't. and eletism is needed, just look at country it use to have an identity a sound now is just pop with a little guitar. imagine dragons is just rock. put it in a sub gunere.

I agree, I'm not a fan of Lil Nas X either but there is a lot of good music out there besides metal (and I love metal). If I was going to choose a modern pop artist I'd choose Carly Rae Jepsen haha. No need for elitism.

It's the being an asshole part that I dislike about elitists/snobs of any kind. If people want to limit what music they listen to that's fine, but like you said don't be an asshole about it. Wu-Tang Clan was the last concert I went to before the pandemic. Enter The Wu-Tang (36 Chambers) is my favorite hip hop album of all time.
