Hi! I use soft body acrylic (like SFX paint meant for cosplay) or leather paint. There is leather paint top coat, too. Good luck!!

Hey Kathleen, Do you think this technique is possible with a textile bag and not leather/pleather? I have an old coach bag and I was thinking of doing something like this but I don't know if it would work on cloth/canvas/textile.
Hey hey! It’s definitely possible - but will require more coats of paint and you may not get super clean lines. I would recommend doing the whole pattern in white first until you have a solid base, and then go over with whatever colors you need!
