I've been wearing two in the pinky for years, both infield and outfield, and putting on a glove traditionally just makes me wonder how someone could possibly prefer that
when you first start doing the finger shift it feels so strange... then next thing you know, you find yourself wondering how you ever played wearing a glove traditional style.
Love these videos about shaping your glove. Have you ever considered doing a “what went wrong” video? The idea being you can have people show you their gloves and you can explain what went wrong in their break-in and how to fix it (or do it better next time).
2 in the pinky is pretty solid for outfield, but ever since I started watching WPW I noticed a lot of outfielders saying they switched to three in the pinky. Personally, after trying it I think it’s a super solid way to go. Plays super deep.
Ima join baseball next year for my senior year and it’s gonna be my first time playing and I wanna play outfield but I don’t know what are the best gloves to get and how to shape or break through it 💀 are $60 gloves from big 5 good?
@@brooooooooooooooooo______ if you get your glove, ball glove king has an amazing video on breaking in your glove. i get it haha it’s confusing but you’ll get it man just watch his tutorial and this video on how to shape it.
@@brooooooooooooooooo______ i wouldn’t recommend $60 gloves because they won’t last long and usually aren’t good quality but what is your budget so i could get a better idea?
To all the youngsters, there is no one size fits all approach. I’ve played for close to 30 years, infield and outfield and have experimented with old and new techniques. My advice is to try something until it works and feels best for your play style. The biggest game changer to me is size and web style.
Been doing 3 in the pink since college ball. Heard Buxton say he had done it years back and I gave it a shot. Never looked back, highly recommend giving it a shot. Also co-sign the mild-flare.
I am an outfielder and actually go 3 in the pinky. I have a fairly small hand and a 13” outfield glove. The pinky is huge so I have room. The pocket is super deep and I really like it.
I use 3 in pinky because I feel like it closes better and closes around the ball in the pocket I also like how it sits higher up on my hand to give a little bit more of length
A2Ks are pretty much the same as last year. Whatever model it is, you can form the glove as any other similar to it: Infield model like the 1786, break it in like an infield model. An outfield model, break it in like an outfield model.
@@brownleeallday You usually want a shallower pocket than an outfield glove, though most of that depends on the gloves actual shape. Basically use any tutorial on youtube and you should be good.
Hey Ball glove king I’m in a HUGE pickle. I got this sweet new 44 that I modeled exactly like the all blonde with navy web one u have. So I’m debating if I go traditional with one finger out or 2 in the pink. I play 3rd
I’d honestly lean toward two in the pocket. If it’s really important to you to have a more shallow pocket then obviously go traditional but otherwise go two in the pinky
Do you think the closed back with a finger hole makes a better and more stable pocket than an open back? I've used both. As a kid it was all finger hole but I haven't used it in many years so I don't know what's better
Would you recommend 44 pro's superskin? What are the pros and cons of 44's regular leather and superskin? Also I was wondering if you knew if 44 pro's superskin is the exact same as what Wilson offers?
What do you prefer in a glove when it comes to 44, I really want one and think a glove expert can help me with that, my preferred wear is 12 to 12.5 and I’m 13.5 years old any ideas?

It’s crazy cause I never thought about two in the pinky until I started watching you and it feels so much better. More control.

That’s a super solid idea I’ll try to in the future

Lotta people are saying three in the pinky, maybe I’ll make a video on it
Yea I got three in the pinky because it just feels better when catching
same
3 in the pink for outfield, 2 in the pink for infield and 2 in the pink for catching
I’ve been wearing 3 in the pinky and I recommend it for outfield, because of the extra reach, feel and easiness to close. Also never stings
Good to know!

i find that curling the pinky slightly is better for snowcone catches because it holds onto the ball better
