- Farmers markets are a big part of our farm. Going to Farmers markets has changes our operation for the better. We do farmers markets Tuesday through Saturday. Its really exhausting but it's worth the time.

You noticed the baked goods flew out of there-hmmm-cookies or kale?😀Set the hook by having the best available of something the competition does not offer,whether it be a pie, a pulled chicken bbq sandwich, whatever you can sell that will make people return to buy or tell their friends. When I started my farm in 92, I already had about 5 acres of asparagus growing. For the first 2 years I only sold wholesale to fruit stands, supermarkets and restaurants. People suggested that I go to farmers markets, but, I couldn't see how I could sell enough there, and, I'd also have to hire another picker to replace my labour. Finally I took the plunge and never sold wholesale again. I'd have a solid lineup all morning selling at twice the price and actually selling out early every day. On the theory that a crowd draws a crowd I deliberately created my lineup by not pre-weighting or bunching my asparagus (besides I couldn't afford a commercial scale, lol). Soon several other farmers started setting up next to me to take advantage of the customers lined up there. This really helped later when another vendor complained to the market manager about my breaking the rules by leaving early and my neighbours stood up for me.

Why is the flag backwards on your shirt?
Since the Stars and Stripes are mounted with the canton closest to the pole, that section of the flag stayed to the right, while the stripes flew to the left. Therefore, the flag is worn on the right shoulder, and wearing it backward gives the effect of the flag flying in the breeze as the wearer moves forward.

What is required to be at a farmers market? Do yall need permits especially for the baked goods?
You need a cottage food license to sell baked goods . It’s free and easy to do online !
