Thanks for the review, I'll keep your thoughts in mind. Song used in the G.U.N. base area is this remix of JehJeh Rocket from Silent Dreams: ua-cam.com/video/A1uXj9pq4Zs/v-deo.html As for the Blue springs, they often serve an extra purpose of guidance where they bounce players back to the main path whenever I put goodies in a sidebranch area. But true, I went overboard and seems mostly a bandage of bad level design I haven't put much thought into.
As for the Angel Island tour being a misnomer, yeah it is. This pack is a bit of a mess, made out of 2 seperate OLDC level ideas I had, recreation of Sonic 3 and Knuckles and City Escape, and me then crushing them together into one pack because I felt guilty of cluttering up the uploads and stealing attention from other Level designers. The 3 Sonic 3 and Knuckles levels were uploaded first, as they were too ambitious to work for a single OLDC stage, and they got the level pack named after them. Then everything else was awkwardly added with a silly comedy story as an attempt to glue them together.
@@The_JackalMan Indeed it did, just one of these things I didn't put much thought into. Thought input now increased by 15% so let's see how I'll fare next time, eh.
Roger's strongsuit definitely isn't level design. It isn't art either, at least in a game sense and imo. But I do like these story levels instead of just getting to the end, just needs more professional voice acting. Roger's levels are always just...fine enough.
Tbh i think roger's art is nice and i like how cartoony it is, but it looks out of place in srb2, maybe in an earlier demo it could've looked a little better tho.
@@Notdog610his art is an acquired taste, for sure. It especially doesn't work in a game. Some of the textures don't even look seemless. Works way better in animation, which is what he usually do anyways.
Amigo separating the GUN Pepsi story from the regular Angel Island would kill the comedic timing of this level pack, it's all about continuous escalation of silliness. Also those first 2 things you thought were "bosses" are just regular enemies on elevators, you don't have to fight them at all. The levels aren't as linear as you think they are, I'd recommend doing another run-through where you look for the emeralds and emblems. There's tons of secret paths to find. Also, check out the Games Done Quick speedrun. Your low ranking surprised me, this is the level pack I come back to more than any other
it's an EXCELENT level pack imo! although some of the enemy's attacks feel a little too fast to react to, like the GUN drones, those guys can kiss my shoe lol
It’s essentially a level where there are several small connected sections - think of something like a train, or as is the case here, a convoy of vehicles that each have a small platforming challenge.

Thanks for the information! And yeah, I think Blue Springs can be very useful, but there are some areas that I feel it went a little overboard.

blue springs really only exist because our jump is too weak.
Sonic just needs to learn how to jump higher

This is probably the first video of yours where I’ve heard you full on swear
Not used to this (good video tho)
The music your looking for on Huge Crisis is Jeh Jeh Rocket Blazy Remix.
oh yea this is happening
What is a convey level?
I'm guessing it's a level on conveyers, which probably means it goes by itself and you have to dodge stuff on the way
