      Mine is the Brass Boot in Badalassi leather, followed by the Ottawa Bourbon Suede.

    Leave a comment with an American made phone or computer 😂😂!! I love all my Grant Stone shoes & boots. I started with one pair and now I just purchased my 16th pair. Great review!

      I just ordered the gs brass boots in black chrome. What is a good replacement leather shoelace for them?

    I’ve had two pairs of GS Ottawa boots , one in Badalassi Minerva that I have to my brother and one in Horween Tan Pebble Grain aka Basketball leather which are cool AF that I still have, put the Ottawa up against the Alden Indy any day of the week.🤘

    Great video! Very inspiring as well. Don’t have a GS boot on my collection as it is mostly RW IRs and BS, and some Thursday Captains. Would you go for the same size as RW or Thursdays?

    • @StrayReviews
      @StrayReviews  2 місяці тому +2

      For the Grant Stones, I take the same size as my Red Wings (half size down from my Brannock size.)

    Great review, Lee. My favorite GS boot is the Diesel, but I have two pairs of the Ottawa, and I am very happy with them. In fact, I experimented with the size a bit; I went a full size down from my Brannock and one-width up, and the fit is excellent! You should try it with GS.

    • @StrayReviews
      @StrayReviews  2 місяці тому

      Thanks Ely! The Diesel is such a great boot. It's the perfect all-rounder.

      I am always worried about buying online because I am hard to fit. One foot is 11e and the other is a little over 11e. I also like room in the toes. So I usually call my brannock 11.5e. Maybe 10.5ee would be the way to go for me.

    • @StrayReviews
      @StrayReviews  2 місяці тому +1

      @@peterblum613 The struggle is real. My left foot is slightly longer than my right foot, so I go by the measurement of my left.

    Only use an American made phone of computer... hahahaha! I have some Grant Stone boots and the quality is top notch. My only issue with this boot is I don't like the look. I've never liked that split-toe like look but that is VERY much a personal preference.

    • @StrayReviews
      @StrayReviews  2 місяці тому

      I suppose that split toe isn’t for everyone. I think my favorite thing about them is that great last shape.

    • @LN92
      @LN92 2 місяці тому

      I agree - I would love the ottawa boot if that tiny split wasn't there. It throws it off for me personally, but still a great boot

    Imo, the Brass boot should have 3 sets of speed hooks too. I love my ottawas in natural Minerva leather sole too. Excellent craftsmanship, especially with my Dune cxl Longwings.

    Dude, I want to start this by saying you're a great reviewer, and this is a great video, and, further, that it's commendable to bring up that kind of controversy rather than just ignoring it. And I want to, because this is the internet, and it's mostly filled with people screaming at each other, that what I'm about to say is not meant as some kind of ultra harsh critique.
    The bit about phones and computers is just, well, silly, on two levels. First: far, far more clothing is available from American factories than phones or computers, with "American Made" typically still featuring components made in China (or other countries with similar worries about labor rights). Second: you're comparing what is today a necessity purchase with a luxury good. You can't really get by without a phone or computer of some kind; you can't apply to jobs, you can't answer emails, and so on. You *can* survive without luxury boots.
    Again, you're a good reviewer, this is a good and enlightening review, and ultimately I think you're *correct* that people are too quick to reject a product made in china without even researching as to whether it uses sweatshops. I just think that that specific argument--- that you can't critique something while posting from an iphone-- is unfair, and too often used to shut down useful discussion.

    • @StrayReviews
      @StrayReviews  2 місяці тому +3

      Thanks Robert. Your points are excellent. Please excuse my goofy remark. I personally buy American quite a bit. However, I know from my (small) experience that not everything manufactured in China is done so in forced labor camps. It's the sweeping generalizations that create the greatest tension for me. People are welcome to comment using any device they please. 🙂

    • @arindambasu9850
      @arindambasu9850 2 місяці тому +4

      Exactly. Trash is made in the USA as well and under non optimal conditions. Generalizations of this nature (made in china ia bad etc) are just stupid.

    The GS site (like most shoemakers) is not very helpful when it comes to actually describing the fits of their lasts. Anyone know which comes closest to a Munson, AKA wider in the forefoot with a snug heel? I know I can ask them but I’d like to get some opinions from here too. Thanks!

    • @kingofthenoobs
      @kingofthenoobs 2 місяці тому +1

      You can sorta get that fit with the Floyd last since the forefoot is very roomy. The Parkhurst 618 is like that but it only comes in one width.
