Dude you are a lifesaver. Now I have a monster TG01. I just change the thermal paste and the fans, keeping the heat sink I have 78ºC playing. I can note it is more quiet and cool. Thank you man
Did you just remove and change the CPU's fan without fully changing the original heat sink itself? Also, did you add any new fans or did you just change the back case fan for a new one?
I bought this pc with i5 11400f and rtx 3060 ti. After gaming for a while my gpu temperature was 83c° and cpu 76c°. I removed those metal things inside and it became little bit better. Can i Mount one 120mm fan on the sidepanel with two sided tape and add better cpu cooler and exhaust fan. Will these Mods make big difference?
Hey! With your RTX 3060Ti, the only fan size you can fit to the side panel, is 80mm. For the from and back, 92mm should fit well. For mounting, I'd recommend a Anti-Vibra kit, so you don't need to use screws and can is more quieter. From one test (where GPU was a single fan version) done with a 80mm fan on the side, the overall temperatures dropped 4°C. (From 80°C to 76°C).
Mine is here now, i put a 80mm Arctic Fan on the side to get air in, its easy to put on this black cage. I used one Screw and three cableties. The Arctic Cooler have PST and PWM. After Christmas i will order the Noctua CPU Cooler and a 92mm Fan for the back.

These videos on the TG01 are fantastic! Does it matter if you use 3 pin fans and a splitter from the exhaust pins, or is there a reason to go 4 pin and share the intake fan with the CPU fan pins?
I like the downdraft cooler because there is no heatsink on the power MOSFETs. This way they get some airflow compared to a tower cooler. The tower cooler like Asassin 90 SE should fit fine, but then you'd want some heatsinks on the power stages near the CPU if you are running an 8-core really hard.
amazing video, that's exactly what I'm looking for thank you so much ! I have a small question though, the front plate of the case have no holes, is that going to affect the front fan ?
I should have took a Flash light and show it. Also I've been think about Dremeling it out to allow for more air flow, you would never see it as it would be done on the back side.
I thought I commented on this vid but I maybe it was on one of your other vids of this computer. I was going to give an update on my experience. I have a TE01-22265t. It came w/ a 400w PSU and an Nvidia 1660 Super. It has a Core i5-11400 cpu in an LGA 1200 socket. Other than that it should be the same as this one. In my first post I'd asked about placing the fan on top to help cool the motherboard. That can't be done. The case is too narrow. So I installed the fan as tnw did but I have it blowing down. The CPU and motherboard temps are way down. typically about 30c for CPU and 33-35 for mobo. Still a little warm for the mobo IMO. Some info that might be helpful from my installation: Don't even think about using the backing plate in the kit. The instructions say to place the new one over the old one. It can't be done. The offsets, the the things the heatsink screws go into, are part of the OEM back plate. Those nifty new screws supplied with the kit will not fit through the offsets. I removd my mobo just to see bc I didn't have any m3 16mm screws. I bought some, $2.95 for 10 at Lowes. My kit had no white spacers. It had grey, blue, and black ones. I used the black ones although I can't see how it makes any difference. Two more things. In my computer the big heatsink assy will only work in one orientation. Fortunately it cleared the memory easily and colls that was well as the CPU and the area around the CPU... the VRMs and capacitors I think? The last thing: I put in an intake fan. I tried it on the grated area on the side of the case and on the front of the case at the top. It may seem odd but my computer runs cooler w/ the fan in front. That's surpising to me bc I didn't cut or remove the plastic slats covering the front. I'm looking at Speccy (which runs a little higher than other progrms) as I post this and the temps at idle are CPU 30C, Motherboard (not sure how that is monitored) at 36C, GPU at 32C, and SSD at 28C. That's w/ the intake fan on the side. I need to go back in and put it back in front. The biggest change w/ fan in front is the mobo temp and that was my main concern. Is the big mamagama worth the price. Probably not. I think I'd have got the same results with the medium size unit. But bottom line I like the fan blowing down bc my mobo def needed some extra cooling. As for this computer... it's a speedy everyday computer now but I have $450 to $500 invested total. It will never be a great gaming computer but after trying a few games I've learned I'm not a gamer so it doesn't matter. I think I could have done better buying a used case with a good mobo. The BIOS is locked and the PSU is proprietary and the case is very small. Thank you, the vids have been very helpful.
Yes it will but need some modification. you can A remove the mobo and remove the back-plate or B order longer 6-32 screws and Drill out the brackets. goes in the same way in my new video but you will need to drill out them. Because the new screws are just a bit larger.
Hi, can you confirm the additional case fan pushes air in and the existing case fan exhausts? Also does the new case fan share power from the CPU fan with a splitter rather than the existing case fan? Advice appreciated! Thankscase
@@davidvsduhworld I haven't. I was looking into Noctua's NH-L9x65, but might actually just change the old thermal paste and change the old heatsink's fan for a new one, while still keeping the original heatsink.
@@TNW1337 thanks just wondering how the air gets in because the front panel is solid? Also to confirm you got better thermals with the fan on the front vs the mesh part of the side panel?
Witch Side? The One on the board or the one to the fan. the Fan side one can be hard to plug in you may need to put it on a angle. just a bit to get it to pop on. It also could be a bad splitter. With covid the QA on stuff has not been the Best.
The motherboard part, I bout the 2 way splitter and it doesn’t fit into the cpu pins. They look really separated and the splitter pin things look really close
@@TNW1337 I noticed while installing my NH-D9L, that the mounting screw holes for the bracket have changed slightly, now the position 2 is for the LGA1700 and its the 1st position for the 115x, not sure if this was different when you made your video, but also my white stand-offs are for AM2 and backwards, and I got dark Grey ones for AM4, did you use the AM4 standoffs or these AM2 ones? (Still searching the comments and older noctua manuals, will reply if I find an answer)
I think he said you can only use a 120mm AIO. Are you from Hong Kong with the 11700F/3060ti model? I have one too, and I underclocked it to something like 3.5-3.8ghz
Would you happen to know the intel bracket item number? Because I bought a heat sink but with only the amd bracket parts smh and I've hear you say I need both amd and Intel part to make this heat fit properly true?
I've been having connection and speed issues with my Ethernet lately and noticed the network adapter is part of the mother board, but there's a slot right behind it. Is this space for a network adapter upgrade?
There are 2 wifi cards that can do in. No only one nic on the motherboard. you could use the 1x for a Nic. I would talk to HP see if you can get it Rma. If it is the PC have you tried a different Nic cable.
Hello, just a random guy who wants to look for potential cooler upgrades for pavilion gaming/victus desktops. Any guesses to what the height clearance for the cpu coolers is? I looked up and it doesn't seem to be noted anywhere.
well there is not a lot of room also you have the none standers back plate. all the cooler I put on the TG01 will 100% work on the victus AMD or Intel.
Not used to working in OEM cases myself as before covid everything was a custom build. That being said are the mounting holes and bracket the same size as the AMD Wraith Spire? Reason why I ask it because there is a copper lug version that would be a cheap upgrade over the stock one if it would fit without modification.
Sorry I'm completely new. If I just want to upgrade the cpu cooler/heatsink, I just buy the small cooler linked in your description, right? Everything else irrelevant?
@@bax9 What would be your highest price you'd be willing to pay? What's your budget? With confidence, I would recommend most of the fans +$35 from brands like Noctua, Arctic, Scythe and Cooler Master. All of those are known and reputable brands in fan manufacturing. My recomendation for the price range would be $35 - $55, because fans priced under $35 are usually smaller, not that quiet and not that effective in cooling your processor. Before choosing a cooler, always research and try to find as many customer reviews of the product as possible. There can be, and are hidden gems with only few reviews, but more known/common coolers with alot of positive reviews, usually have those for a reason.
@@bax9 Because I'm not 100% sure if a "tower" CPU cooler will fit the case (Otherwise 'ARCTIC Freezer 34 eSports Duo' would be my #1 pick), I'll recommend 2 low profile ones. • Noctua NH-L9x65 (~$50, 95mm fan) or • Scythe Big Shuriken 3 (~$45, 120mm fan) Both are tested to fit the case and got good reviews from multiple users.
I was nothing away from installing the CPU fan, but they sent me screws a little bigger and they can't screw well on the motherboard. I will have to buy some of the exact size separately.
*TechNitWit* please help me i need your expertise, what do you think of the “DeepCool AG400” & OR “DeepCool AG400 Black with ARGB” ?? Would it work on my tg01 with r5 5600g cpu ? It’s a better price and i think i prefer a tower style, few more bucks has the rgb fan and soon I’m doing a clear side window mod, and doing the other noctua fans ..
I've been trying to put in an intake fan in the tg01-1020 by using a sata to 4 pin pmw adapter. I've seen people put in more fans by using a splitter in the cpu fan header but I've been advised against using a splitter. There is only one 3 pin sysfan header on the motherboard for an exhuast fan. I have two drives connected to the sata power cables that came with the PC already. There is another sata power header (white 4 pin header that's next to the white and blue sata ports) that I was able to find a cable for on ebay. I haven't gotten these cables yet so I figured I'd reach out and see if you has a better suggestion or a good reason to why this won't work.
So I haven’t found a comment for this yet so I’ll just ask I have been looking for your splitter cable that you use for your cpu/intake/exhaust fans I didn’t see a link for it

I installed two of the brown noctua fans with splitter and kept the stock cpu cooler and my fans are loud and sound like they are running full blast as soon as I turn pc on I’m guessing I did something wrong just not sure what?
If you used the 3 way splitter off the CPU. They are still controlled. The noise dose suck, Bet it is better then Overheating and losing boost clocks or thermal throttling.

Hi TechNitWit i was wondering if the ryzen 7 3700x stock cooler fit inside the Hp Pavilion TG01. Also one more thing do i have to add the other heatsink fans or is it a have to?
Sadly I did this upgrade but did not realize you did not use the Drive Caddy ? So I have to remove the Front Fan that I just installed because I have a mechanical HD unless there is another way to attach a Mechanical drive to another Location. And also relocate my extra SSD. Oh well looked good when I first watched until I went to get everything I had in there back in. Big plus is, I have a Ryzen 7 3700X and a new Cooler by Noctua. Decided to get 2 smaller ones at the Front so the HD Caddy will drop back in without interferance.
@@oreonmilk1864 small noctua! But not to long after that, I just moved everything to a larger Case! I did not have to do that but decided for myself that more ventilation would be best. (For me)
Hey @TechNitWit what’s the point of install the redux exhaust fan? I see in my bios the exhaust fan that comes installed blows at about 353rpm and that never changes while watching HWMonitor either regardless of how hot system gets. Wouldn’t installing a new fan like you did here still be limited to that hard lock of 353rpm regardless that the fan can do more like 1600rpm? Or does this new redux fan install get the full 1600rpm? I’m new to pc mods and just want to be sure this wouldn’t be all for nothing bc I do see temp issues when putting the system on full load and would like to change that.
Well the noctus fan is a better design imo. Never did look at the speed it was running but if you tie it in to the header with the cpu it runs it at max.
@@TNW1337 Sorry but maybe I'm misunderstanding this. I thought the PWM 4pin was where the splitter went, then the cpu fan took the 4 pin while the front fan used a 3 pin and the exhaust fan used a 3pin as well. I just looked into my case and the exhaust fan is a 3 pin. Am I understanding it wrong? CPU fan 4pin pwm , and then intake and exhausts 3pin?
Re watching some of the videos and pulling the TG01 back out. May just upgrade it now that prices are dropping again. Did you ever get that other psu you talked about trying in them after the 500w hp? I have an extra psu setting around but of course it's an atx psu so there's no way without cutting the case in places it will go in. Too bad too because it's a 600w.
No I never did. The problem is that they switch to the new ATX 12v, HP, Dell, Acer & some others. To the 12V ATX standard and getting some thing that can take 14 Amps 5v 600watts DC and make 6Amp 12v at 300watts DC is harder then I though it would be. Once I can get my hands on a new 12v ATX psu. I think it will be very simple to do. I Tried to use a Buck Converter, Choked Buck converter and some other devices. I Guess I should have stayed in school longer lol. I mean college, Computer Engineering.
Ok so I’m confused, I bought the 360 pc whiskey screw kit, now if I buy the noctua cooler that u installed in the beginning, seeing how I have an intel cpu, I need what and what to make this work via a kit? That part threw me off. Please let me know lol thanks
You can check the other video from this channel, with the huge cooler he installed, to get the specs for the maximum height of a CPU cooler you can install. (If I remember correctly, it was ~15cm tall)
Hey! I checked the specs/size for the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Black Edition, and the height is 159mm. TechNitWit was able to fit the Noctua NH-C14S (which's height is 163mm) inside the case. By this, the Hyper 212 should fit nicely inside the case. Just remember to mount it in a way that the fan pushes air out towards the back of the case.
can you please tell me if this large or mid size cooler will fit good for the tg01? i have the stock ryzen 5... i would like to upgrade all the fans.. can you please share the correct one and the biggest size that will fit please? thank you i love the vids man!!
You can check the other video from this channel (with the huge CPU cooler he installed) to get the specs for the maximum height of a CPU cooler you can install. (If I remember correctly, it was ~15cm tall) For back and front fans, I recommend checking the description. The size for them should be 92mm. Note that the sidepanel only takes a 80mm fan when using a dual fan GPU. REMEMBER that you need to buy Y-Splitter for them, because the Motherboard doesn't have enough 4-pin connectors for each fan. A single 3-pin/4-pin output can support 1-3 fans, so no need to worry about the Y-Splitter possibly not being safe. (I've seen some people being concerned about it)
Also remember that the Cooler has to be LGA 1151 mount compatible. The stock CPU has a intel mounts even though its a AMD processor in a AMD AM4 socket.
Yeah I would stick to the Noctuas cools also you will need to get the screw kit or 4x 16mm Screws. Best if you watch the video it has all the info in there.
I have been following your videos they have been very informative for me I am new in upgrading my pc I want to build my pavilion PC for max performance I have the OLOy DDR4 RAM 32GB (2x16GB) 3200 MHz what would be the best graphics card you found for in the pavilion so on and so forth?
If you can Find the dual fan MSI 3070 if you can get your hands on the 500 watts PSU. If not the 3060Ti is next best or a 2060 Super. The zotac is a little fat. and make it so the front panel doe not close 100%. I think the Asus & msi cards fit best.
Hey TechNitWit! I was planning to upgrade the cpu cooler on my TG01-1109? I was wondering if a 120mm cooler would fit the case and the motherboard? Thanks alot! Kudos to your effort!
Probably not, depending on the brand. this is why I use the noctua. it takes the least amount of work. other coolers you need to remove the motherboard.
@TechNitWit Hi again 😊, I was watching your video on the Tg02 and followed your advice to watch this video... I think it's the right one. Just bought the 92mm noctua case fan and plan to install soon. A bit confused why the fan is up top, because there is no vent up there on this or the victus. I can see how it might blow more direct air over the CPU area, does that work better than down on the side? My gpu is usually pretty cool, but the cpu seems to spike into the 90s sometimes. Just running in "balanced" mode and the fans haven't come on full blast I already installed a 2nd ssd in the cage, looks like I may need to remove the cage and do a custom mount of the drive to get it out of the way of the fan if I mount it up top. Appreciate any words of wisdom if you have time. Thanks
Get a flash light and go to the button of the case and top has some cut outs. you can see it by shining the light. Thanks! Yeah but tbh double side tape works just fine on ssds, not the best thing in the world but works!
@@TNW1337 Thanks, got my fan mounted up front like you shown in your video and it seems to be working well! I removed the cage and just laid the ssd on the case floor for now, but I'll fasten it as soon as I get some tape.
Do you think if we kept the gpu stock with 1 fan. Would there still be negative temperatures putting a intake fan on the side? I’m also skeptical about putting the intake fan up top. There isn’t holes on the face plate of the case.
Hey! If you have a single fan GPU, the side intake fan could drop you overall temperature 4°C (according to a test done by another UA-camr) + There are vent holes on the top of the front panel.
@@TNW1337 Sorry one more question. Does the cpu cooler have to be the same brand as the fans you install? I plan on installing two Arctic F9 fans as intake fans but keeping the stock cpu cooler and exhaust fan.
Did you have to change the back plate, or just the rubber standoffs will work? Am looking into something like an ID-Cooling IS50X/5M/6K, whatever is still selling for an Intel platform in this case..
You can use any fans, from any manufacturer if they are the correct size. I recommend fans made by Arctic. They are near to Noctuas quality but some times even 2-3x cheaper.
I have not gotten back to it so sorry. From my understanding is the HP psu gives out 12V all the time.(Even when the psu is powerd off) The Atx psus only give out 5v. And does not like a heavy draw on it. the PSU I had was 500watt Psu. They do make them in 750 that would fit if you made a plate. The big problem is to start the HP mobo it needs around 120 watts to kick on the Mobo. So I would need a buck converter that take 5v to 12v At around 120watts. I did order a O"Scope to see and Just have not gotten back to it. I was think about do a 2 or 3 in Sires or with a Relay that was timed. I am not sure I hold all the knowledge to solve the problem.

I have read that that connector should just be used for the CPU. But it looks like you know what you are doing.

Can I mount a noctua cpu cooler without removing the original backplate?
Yes.
Great video! I just removed the LED light and the fan in front can get more fresh air flow now!!!
Awesome
Did you connect the fan with the LED light's 4-pin connector, or did you use a Y-Splitter for it?
@@XTRakki I am using the Y-Splitter, the fan speed is same as CPU fan.
Will this cooler work with the same PC but with a 13400F CPU?
Yes it will but need some modification. you can A remove the mobo and remove the back-plate or B order longer 6-32 screws and Drill out the brackets. goes in the same way in my new video but you will need to drill out them. Because the new screws are just a bit larger.
Hi, can you confirm the additional case fan pushes air in and the existing case fan exhausts? Also does the new case fan share power from the CPU fan with a splitter rather than the existing case fan? Advice appreciated! Thankscase
Yes It does flow from front to back. I should have made that clearer in the video about the Power for the FAN. I use a PWM splitter cable.
So i have added a noctua heat sink and cooler to my tg01-0023. I did not use the fan adapter. Is the fan adapter necessary?
If you did not install the front fan. sure

You can drop in on the bottom. SSD drive doesn't have any moving parts, so it doesnt vibrate when used/get damaged from the case's vibration.

They look really separated and the splitter pin things look really close

hello i have a question i have a ryzen 7 5700g and a rtx 3060ti to what cpu can i upgrade ?
M3 16mm screws?
Not used to working in OEM cases myself as before covid everything was a custom build. That being said are the mounting holes and bracket the same size as the AMD Wraith Spire? Reason why I ask it because there is a copper lug version that would be a cheap upgrade over the stock one if it would fit without modification.
It looks to be very close, I know what one your talking about. I do not have one but it looks to be the right pattern. I can not be 100%
Does the cooler include thermal paste
Yes it does it not that bad but there is better.
Sorry I'm completely new. If I just want to upgrade the cpu cooler/heatsink, I just buy the small cooler linked in your description, right? Everything else irrelevant?
Be sure that the cooler is compatible with LGA 1151 mounting.
@@XTRakki do you have a cooler that you use or recommend? Ive been looking for a cheap one to get on sale but finding small ones that fit is hard
@@XTRakki Yeah I can do $50 budget. The issue is knowing which heatsink/fan fits properly onto the mobo that's small enough.
@@bax9 Because I'm not 100% sure if a "tower" CPU cooler will fit the case (Otherwise 'ARCTIC Freezer 34 eSports Duo' would be my #1 pick), I'll recommend 2 low profile ones.
• Noctua NH-L9x65 (~$50, 95mm fan)
or
• Scythe Big Shuriken 3 (~$45, 120mm fan)
Both are tested to fit the case and got good reviews from multiple users.
I was nothing away from installing the CPU fan, but they sent me screws a little bigger and they can't screw well on the motherboard.
I will have to buy some of the exact size separately.
Hey, what cable to I need to do exactly this? Also, the fan in the front, what is the purpose of it since the Case is closed in the front?
The case is not fully close in the front. take a flash light you will see light shine though.

Yes it is the same thing, hp did it to same money.
What if its a AMD cpu? Do you just use the AMD mounts then?
the Intel and AMD mounts on the hp are the same.
Same thread type and same space need to contact the cold plate.

Thx for the tips in this video going to do this to my hptg01 pc cant wait.
Thank for watching!
Is this the same process for the ryzen 5 5600g and same mounts
I thought your exhaust fan was 3 pin? I got a tg01 and the exhaust fan is 3 pin I believe but the fan in the desc is 4 pin?
I use the cpu header for the added fan.
@@TNW1337 Sorry but maybe I'm misunderstanding this. I thought the PWM 4pin was where the splitter went, then the cpu fan took the 4 pin while the front fan used a 3 pin and the exhaust fan used a 3pin as well. Re watching some of the videos and pulling the TG01 back out. May just upgrade it now that prices are dropping again.
You can check the other video from this channel (with the huge CPU cooler he installed) to get the specs for the maximum height of a CPU cooler you can install. (If I remember correctly, it was ~15cm tall)
For back and front fans, I recommend checking the description.

Just running in "balanced" mode and the fans haven't come on full blast
I already installed a 2nd ssd in the cage, looks like I may need to remove the cage and do a custom mount of the drive to get it out of the way of the fan if I mount it up top.
