Shoujo Tsubaki or Midori is a short anime movie about a girl called Midori being picked up by a travelling freak show after her mother dies. It only has 3-4 fucked up scenes in there: there is an implied rape scene, a scene of a person killing others by turning them into grotesque creatures and exploding them, scenes with physical abuse and the most infamous scene in the movie: some really bad animal abuse against some small puppies. In general though, the movie is less fucked up and just depressing as time after time Midori gets some small hope or an act of kindness before plunging into even worse depressing things. The most interesting thing about the movie is that the writer of the story wanted to make this movie for a long time but no studio wanted to make it. So he hunkered down and wrote, storyboarded, directed and animated all of the movie, taking multiple years to do so.
I don't care what anybody says, the Tokyo Ghoul anime is the biggest stain on the anime industry. Literally butchered this amazing series when it could've reached the heights of mainstream anime like AOT and JJK back in its heyday. Literally no one talks about Tokyo Ghoul anymore, no one. We could've had a thriving anime community over tokyo ghoul, but no, the production team thought having a seinen anime on tv was too much. Seinen anime always get the short end of the stick. Thank god Vinland Saga is the only one that hasn't been struck by the seinen anime curse.
Wit Piece's "THE ONE PIECE!!!" moment is going to hit unbelievably hard if they manage to go completely uncensored. That would be absolutely the HARDEST thing in any anime. A man with half his head blown off, holes straight through his body, beaten, battered, stabbed, still standing and managing to shout at the top of his lungs. Wit Piece will be a masterpiece.
