Abandoned Myrtle Ave. Station
Вставка

- The Myrtle Ave. Station opened in 1915 and closed in 1956. The southbound platform has been destroyed and replaced with tracks while the northbound platform remains and in 1980, the MTA built an art installation called the Masstransiscope. The animation art can be seen from a Manhattan bound B or Q train just after DeKalb Ave.
I usually pass this station using the Q train while the walls printings start to move it's quite awesome
Rᴀɪɴʙᴏᴡ Dᴀsʜ dame exept I use n train
I have token N trains and passed by
Likewise I use the B train often. Had no idea a station was part of the infrastructure
You can see the art movement on the (B) or (Q) from DeKalb to Manhattan Bridge
Or a local N or D during late night
You can still see it on the B, D, N and Q trian regardless of what time it is
@@BrianGomez8888 The B, Q, and late night D are the trains that pass along the track right next to the abandoned station that now houses the artwork. That is, trains that depart from the wall track at DeKalb Ave (northbound). If it is visible at all from the daytime D and N (which use the bypass tracks through DeKalb Ave. station), it would be from a greater distance.

I discovered this station when I was 10 years old. There was no "artwork" there then, just the dimly lit tiles with "M" and the name of the station spelled out.
I knew it The first time I saw that for some reason after knowing some abandoned stations and how MTA hide them and you find them,I knew there had to be something there. Thanks for telling me what it actually was.I honestly never knew there was a abandoned mrytle ave station .~.
Didn't know either wtf
I used to live around there and always wondered why was that abandoned station on the upper level.
You think you can get the Chambers tunnel on the J line... I believe it leads up to the Brooklyn Bridge.. That would be awesome...
Urban Your back! I’m glad to see these videos. Ik a Abandoned Station. Go to the Abandoned Jerome Ave Anderson in the Bronx it’s part of 9th ave El Line
When I was in the N train I saw these lines and thought it was a sort of station but now I learned that it is the abandoned Myrtle av station
those installation was remastered in 2010-2011 old one removed and new one replaced
It's 1980
Damn I always wanted 2 go in there...that’s the Myrtle Ave abandoned that was shut down in 1957
It closed on July 15, 1956 - four months and four days before I was born.
@@8avexp yeah...at that time my parents lived near by in fort green projects where there were these 2 gangs called the maumaus & chaplins & the singer little Anthony & the imperial. Not to mention the paramount theatre a station away
@@jesussavesnycwhy it's closed

Seek help. Cuz obviously something wrong with your mental state of mind
You can also see it on the D and N line while going to Manhattan
you cant
@@blaazer9473 yes you can. I seen it multiple times while taking those 2 trains
@@blackpit1769 that is weird because the Q/B is closer and the mural ends before the switch connecting N and Q, and D and B.
@@blaazer9473 try and take the D or the N and you will see it
Guys in NYC. Is this where parts of the original Taking of Pelham 123 film were shot?
Edit.. sorry just found out was the old Court Street Stn on the old IND Fulton st line.
Ever consider the mysterious plot of land by Essex Street or the rumored 76th Street on the abandoned line by the Aqueduct track?
The plot of land at essex street is where they stored the trolleys
That is a SUS name for a street
It's like a little clip art slideshow when passing it in the train. I wonder if it was intended for that or graffiti artists thought of a genius method to bring their art to life
Nah it was set up by the mta
I want to tag along!
Eric Johnson little do you know...
@Eric Johnson oh shut up you prick!
@Eric Johnson Asshole.
Me too
I am guessing you know someone that works for the MTA or you yourself do or have before you seem to know a whole lot about our city's underground lines
Ain't that illegal ? He either work , or got some connection
Nice videos bro!!! Keep it up
I see this allot because I usually take the Q or B train
Omg so this is the upclose of those wall paintings lol
Great video
I didn’t even know this used to be a station
What happened to the brooklyn-bound station
they're fulling covering the station but you can sneak in by going to the loop
Demolished when they rebuilt the junction in that area. That's the main reason the station was abandoned.
Does anybody else find these videos creepy? Goes to show how important context is to a piece of media and our perception of it. Title this "Terrifying abandoned Subway" and suddenly it becomes a horror film
You sure it’s not the old “Gold Street” station just outside of Dekalb ?
Myrtle and gold st were the same thing but gold at was renamed to Myrtle
@@soullessprincess6473There a gold street still. There also myrtle Ave ..not the same
Go to the abandoned Bowling green Shuttle platform And Old South Ferry!
@@dominicmaldonado5294 That's at Essex for the J and Z, which was already covered
not by Urban NYC, it's been covered by the NYCTA, but if they go there they'll be caught since you cant really hide
@@dominicmaldonado5294 what annoys me is the fact you decide willingly to respond 2 YEARS LATER and respond with random crap, the fuck man?!
I remember seeing this when i was a kid.this line goes to Coney island right?
Yea
You are a legend
Oh cool
Can you get in the south ferry loop
I pass by there every time on the D
0:46 Next time go inside there
There's poison in there plus that's the entrencw
Can I join your team? I can edit videos and I love doing urban explorations!
how do you get in?
I can see it so dark
Holy crap that’s creepy
*holy creep that’s crappy
Try going on the south bound platform
There is no southbound platform, was eliminated during the track realignment in 1956-62
So freakin rad!
wait which line is that
For me it was the Q btwn Dekalb & Canal. I'm pretty sure you can see it from other Lines.
ITS B D N Q AND R
Which Myrtle ave is it ?
The one that serves B D N Q and R
Before crossing the manhatten bridge
Unauthorized ppl on the tracks are the biggest cause of death in the Subway.
It Belong To the BMT Brighton Line
Gogosuprtoe showed a video about this
It would be cool if u got to the abandoned 76 street station but the station is more like a myth than real but it would be cool of he tries it
HOW
Go to the abandoned Lexington Avenue 63 street lower level
There's no such thing. There is a lower level of the 63rd street tunnel, which will be used by LIRR trains when the East Side Access project is completed.
You mean the sas platform is the lower level of Lexington Avenue 63 st?
@@alexthemtaandr211weatherfa2 yes
Funny how you're allowed to showcase this and even be down there without anyone coming to knock on your door questioning you. Not even track workers have this freedom to be in abandoned areas of the system without good reason. Flagging permissions need to be set up and a detailed explanation why they need to be there in the first place. Going there without permission and then filming it will have all NYC authorities looking for the workers involved. Such female privilege these days.
How so ? This person got permission, or know someone , or fake edit videos
@@Moodboard39 all the stuff I listed shows I know the damn system after dealing with it for various civil projects. You stray where you're not supposed to be or step outside of a protected flagging zone and that's your ass and a trip to MTA HQ then your job be it with the city, state or contracting company. But go ahead, keep white knighting.
