      @@HighImpaktAudio Hi man excellent review.
      * I would like to know since you have the dark flame and this Rigel, which of the two has better saturation, compression, similar to a real amp.
      - It would be good if you could do a review with both connected to the interface and using the same IR in the daw, to see which one responds better in that scenario.
I look forward to your prompt response, thank you very much.
      You're the best. cheers

@mutilation7763 Hello! Thank you so much for the kind words! I'm glad you've enjoyed my reviews as well!
I would say the one that felt more like an amp on its response is the rigel preamp for sure. It just had a certain chunkiness to it that responded well to my playing. Though I had to mess around with it a bit to find that right tone.
While the darkflame probably has my favorite saturation. It has the great mid tones that I would hear from Revv. And that one seems a bit more compressed.
The rigel definitely had more dynamics for me.
I will definitely keep in mind a video on comparing these two. I have quite the backlog at the moment, but it could be an awesome video to showcase them 😁
      Have a great day!

Ok stupid question I know but if you don’t know you ask. As a player always using pedals in front how do I run a preamp pedal from guitar into the loop?! This type of shit always makes my brain go into limp mode. I wanna get this pedal for sure but just would like to know the operating procedure 🤘🏻

    • @HighImpaktAudio
      @HighImpaktAudio  Рік тому +2

No worries! There no stupid questions in my opinion.
When I ran the Rigel Preamp I plugged my guitar into the input of the Rigel preamp. And the from the out of the Rigel Preamp into the FX return of my amplifier.
This way will completely bypass the preamp of your amplifier and use the pedal as the preamp that it is. And use the power section of your amp to power the rigel.
Though make sure to have the volume on your pedal all the way down before using this method. Because the volume knob of your pedal will be what controls how loud everything is haha
Hope this helped! Thank you so much for watching! 😁

Hey Chris, another great review, I hope Joyo are funding your channel 😁 I purchased a Chopper Z after your review, I put it on my pedal board for my blues gigs, straight into the JBL EON to give me a cool amp simulation when going into a portable PA. I am now thinking this Rigel will go nicely on my metal board, cheers Will 😎🎸🤘

Hey! Thank you so much for the kind words my friend!
Unfortunately there's no funding, but JOYO sends some gear over every once in a while. And I gotta say I have a ton of fun with it 😁.
Dude I can totally see the Chopper Z work well with more of a blues rig! It has just that right amount of dirty grit for blues.
I've also found the Chopper Z working great for a mean metal bass tone. I had my bassist try it out for a rehearsal, and it sounded amazing!
The Rigel Preamp is definitely a great preamp for metal! I'm thinking of making a really compact rig using this guy, a two notes C.A.B M, and possibly a duncan power stage.
Thank you so much for watching as always! 😁

Do u prefer this one or chopper z?

      @HighImpaktAudio  Рік тому

I prefer the Rigel Preamp forsure.
The Chopper Z isn't bad, but the texture, and type of gain on the Rigel is definitely more my style.
Thank you so much for watching!

@@HighImpaktAudio cant find the rigel anywhere in europe sadly and I've found the chopper z doesnt have that much gain (even if it has enough for my needs which aren't that high gain)... which amps would u compare both pedals to?? The chopper has some 5150 vibe imho

i have this pedal and im sending it back, it has no and i mean no Low end/bass, the bass knob has to be dimed all the way to get a tiny trickle of and low end and it just cant do any metal that i play, this pedal has mid and high frequencies only and the bass knob is esthetic lol, if you like the option to add a full bodied sound or some umff or a touch of low end wooff dont get this pedal it has none, the balls are removed lol, basicly a neutered distortion pedal. I own the DARK FLAME and the UZI pedal from joyo and those are good but I have plenty of distortion/pre amp pedals ranging from $300 to $40 and this compared to metal muff, DOD death metal, Revv G4, Diezel VH4, Waza Craft Metal Zone, you name it, makes the R-24 RIGEL PREAMP pale in comparison to every dirt box i own.
All my distortion pedal's, all of them in comparison had more body/umff/low end if you would like to add it if you need, with the R-24 RIGEL PREAMP there is no option, it barley exists. As all can see in this video is that when the bass is cranked/maxed out you never really here the low end change much, so im sending this pedal back. But either way, thank you for your review.

I'm sorry weren't finding what you were looking for with the Rigel Preamp.
It took me some messing around to find the sweet spot of tone for me. And when I found it I actually really liked the tone.
As far as the low end missing I didn't get the same issue that you seemed to have. The low mids came through enough for the guitar to leave room for the bass, and kick drum in a full mix.
Obviously tone is completely to taste. One tone might be perfect for one person, and not for another. It also depends on style, articulation, etc.
One of the main reasons I made this channel is to show anyone looking at these products what they sound like in their rarest for, and also in a mix. And of course some thoughts on it whether it's good or bad haha
Sorry again the Rigel Preamp wasn't for you. Thank you so much for watching! 😁

I’m going to chime in on this I just got this pedal yesterday. I haven’t given up on it but it’s not doing it for me either. I don’t find it to be missing low but the highs are ridiculously sharp. I don’t know why anybody would need that hi boost it’s like the metal muff with top boost I only found the top boost ever useful on Bass.
what you call high end, clarity and sparkle is coming thy as piercing to me through my rig. I’ve tried a few different guitars, and I have to roll the treble off all the way on my guitar and on the pedal for it not to be super harsh and then it feels like it’s missing something .
I have the vertex steel string at the end of my chain is a usually on pedal to sort of round everything out. It definitely takes the fizzy harshness out of this and boosted in a nice way. It doesn’t make it any harsher just takes the fizz out of it.
I’m still going to experiment before I give up though I’ll try it in a effects loop and through a different amp. So far I’ve used it on my boss katana and a micro terror. I’ll try in a Bugera 22 and a PV classic 50 next.

@katrat5450 hello! It went really well in my experience going through my Revv G20s return in the FX loop. I didnt really need too much of a boost on it. Seemed to do pretty well without one. And I Definitely didn't need the bright switch I agree that it made it way too harsh. I don't know if you're running an extra EQ pedal. That might help.
But I did it through my FX return on my G20 with good results. I hope this helped! And thank you so much for watching!

I needed to know this and perfect timing thank You. I have the Uzi and have been thinking about the dark flame! Which do You prefer and I just purchased the Hotone binary amp and wondering how it stacks up against the Joyo preamp house? No videos for Me to find so I tool a shot in the dark. Insold My triple Rectifier years ago and even thinking about just getting the Zombie xl.

@@adamstein9333 alot of people love the zombie amp and the dark flame is like a revv G3 not a revv G4 like others claim cuz i own em all, the dark flame is tighter sounsing than the uzi but that dosent mean better, i like the uzi alightly more because the distortion is more saturated
