Eu sou brasileiro, e eu amo drift , queria muito fazer drift nas ruas do brasil mais infelismente pra ter um carro desses ou para equipar um eu teria que ter muito dinheiro. Nice video
For anyone looking for the song, it's "TOKYO通信~Urbs Communication~" by Soul'd Out. If you can't type it, just copy & paste into the search bar; it should pop up.
It's a Japanese documentary so you might not be able to understand what they are saying, but you can still get an idea hopefully. here you go: Part 1: /watch?v=80y9n70Pk0Q Part 2: /watch?v=zG9BS8L4bxk
Another thing is the professionals usually have wider areas to drift on so they can carry more speed and spend more time on the throttle. More throttle = more wheel speed, more wheel speed = more smoke. When ur drifting on mountain roads like this, you dont carry as much speed and arent on the throttle as much, so ur tires dont spin as much and dont get warm as quickly, ergo less smoke. simple really. i dont mean to sound like a know-it-all, just thought i could help :)
Thanks to everyone who replied to me! I kinda figured as much, I just wasn't SURE, you know? I actually look forward to start drifting. I mean, I know to start small, start slow(ish), and start in big areas. Drag is fun and all, but it gets boring, and pretty much anyone can do it. Initial D also got me wanting to do it, lol. Anyone know a few spots in San Diego that's any good? I can only guess Palomar Mountain.
a mix between high hp and yeah the tire compound. Certain tires do generally smoke more, i've also come to notice heavier cars smoke more too lol go figure
its sometimes down to the tires, however generally the pros have a lorry load more bhp in their cars so they smoke it up like crazy, these guys arent running anywhere near pro bhp and as you can seem, its fairly low speed. And its good to ask questions :D
@nikg72 yea it's dec. 20 and I saw a JDM civic and JDM Subaru drifting and doing donuts out where I was practicing Ice driving... But the weather here in St. Albert isn't bad its like 5 degrees and half a foot of snow instead of -20 and 5 feet haha
okay, I'm new to the whole car/racing scene, so im sorry for this. how come the pro's smoke a shit ton and these street guys tires done smoke at all/ a little bit? is it the tire compound? the power of their engines? road treated? I don't know the for sure answer, so i would like help please. ty in advance
Check out the documentary about them if you want to know more, they ruin the road, and hit poles and railings, it's accidental of course, but it's still cost alot of money for the city to repair, and alot of them litter bottles and food packages all over the road (not everyone of course, but in general) also the drifters up in the mountains pose a threat to anyone who comes the other way, since they drift in both lanes. I'm a drifter myself, and i'm not ashamed, just thought id let you know why.
yeah I can imagine the damage, and the littering is very obvious, not just food but car parts which is obviously a nuisance :/ I suppose it's just down to when and where they do it. I guess thats why they do it at night, to reduce the chances of collisions :) where can I find the documentary? thanks
@Kaioria Yea... I'm gonna be working at Mcdonalds soon and buying my dads 01 Subaru Impreza RS... too bad the stupid canadian weather's starting to rust out the fenders.
i agree, in Australia we have a crap tonne of actually race tracks, Mount Panorama is one of the most famous for car racing, and Phillip Island race track is more famous in the bike world, these tracks require alot more skill then going in a straight line, or going around in circles, imo, yeah i admit nascar requires some skill and alot of physical endurance because of the G-forces and speed, but give me a lap on a proper track any day Mt Panorama fastest recorded lap! /watch?v=XM4QpKaTNtc
pretty much drifting started illegally and it grew into a profession but the reason cops stop drifterss is cause even though their good at drifting in narrow roads in the mountain you dont have has space to correct a mistake if their is an oncoming car their for it is dangerous but its still cool
yeah there are so many bikerz(motorcyclists) up there but i have never heard of someone throwing eggs at drifters o: lol its ok if they toss an egg after a spin out..but if the guy knows what he's doing, as in if he knows how to drift, they should just let him do his thing
haha, and for some reason, over here in america, nascar and drag racing are somehow actually cool. it takes no skill to take a car around a nascar ring, nor does it take any skill (other than shifting) to drag race. then again, I dont really know much about nascar, so dont take that too offensively.
well i probably live in a different country to you so it'd be pointless be listing off the local tracks. i think what he ment was beginners should spend some time at a track day or 2, to learn the basics before taking it onto the road.

SOUL'd OUT-TOKYO通信~Urbs Communication~ love this song very much
pretty fun that the great drifters in japan go on the street most of the time and the rookies on the circuit

The Scandinavian Flick is an rally car move - modern drifting is another thing.
Because places like Osaka, and Okinawa, have always been known as ancestral territories. The older people would rather keep it like that.

The brown car looks amazing . Thanks for the awesome vid . Wishing I were ther . Yea the rest of the planet is boring .
okay, I'm new to the whole car/racing scene, so im sorry for this.

so where would you go to improve if not the street?

@shaggyz6 that UFO, happens to be a Subaru Impreza most likely RA-spec. It is the most sexy car ever
I wish there were roads like this where I live. I don't even have a car yet, but hell I would just chill there.
@killem666all Yea I guess your right... But these guys drift a lot during the summer, on flat asphalt so this was pretty close.

I have been to this peak often.
In Osaka, it's famous peak!!
what track do you go to ? and do you go 6 days a week?
yeah I can imagine the damage, and the littering is very obvious, not just food but car parts which is obviously a nuisance :/ I suppose it's just down to when and where they do it. i dont mind the music ... the drifting is what matters c:

actually it does take a lot of skill for nascar racing, also a lot of mental and physical stamina
i agree, in Australia we have a crap tonne of actually race tracks, Mount Panorama is one of the most famous for car racing, and Phillip Island race track is more famous in the bike world, these tracks require alot more skill then going in a straight line, or going around in circles, imo, yeah i admit nascar requires some skill and alot of physical endurance because of the G-forces and speed, but give me a lap on a proper track any day Mt Panorama fastest recorded lap! /watch?v=XM4QpKaTNtc

pretty much drifting started illegally and it grew into a profession but the reason cops stop drifterss is cause even though their good at drifting in narrow roads in the mountain you dont have has space to correct a mistake if their is an oncoming car their for it is dangerous but its still cool
they're causing a disturbance to the environment, and they do hurt people sometimes
Besides crashing, it`s illegal pretty much everywhere in the world I think.
cool bro!!!
NICE
ok thanks mate :)
It's saturday night and the only reason I'm home right now is because my car is FF :)
They're (and not "their") not respecting the law, which is an obvious reason for cops to try and arrest them.

yeah there are so many bikerz(motorcyclists) up there but i have never heard of someone throwing eggs at drifters o: lol its ok if they toss an egg after a spin out..but if the guy knows what he's doing, as in if he knows how to drift, they should just let him do his thing

Why is it called a Scandinavian Flick when obviously the Japanese do it best?
seeing stuff like this makes me feel that Japan has never heard of a police force.. Lucky bastards. :)
its illegal and the drivers might harm them selves
i like how they signal lol
I just realized how horrible my grammar was in this comment.
