    Moissanite is not an imitation diamond. It is its own stone. A lab grown moissanite is made to mimick the look of the actual gem. Moissanite is found in nature in small quantities. So because it’s a natural occurring substance it can not be an imitation. That’s like saying a white sapphire is an imitation diamond.

      People buy moissanite because they look close to a diamond for a fraction of the price, it's a simulant.

      @@igor-fk3vv people buy moissanite because they want moissanite, people buy morganite because they want morganite , people buy Sapphire because they want Sapphire, people buy diamonds because they want diamonds. Moissanite is its own stone not a simulate or imitation. NO different than any other option in life down all the way down to food; pork, beef, chicken, duck, turkey, fish (all meat) on and on...different strokes for different folks. At the end of the day they are all just shiny rocks, all that matters is a happy marriage.

      @@jharris187 Morganite diamond and sapphire are natural stones, moissanite is a diamond simulant. People buy that because they can't afford a diamond, don't lie to yourself... By the way they get screwed when buying moissanite, because that synthetic stone in rough state cost around 300$ per kilo ! People pay 300$ for two carat moissanite. It's so stupid, because is that kind of people who think diamond market is a scam who buy moissanite for 100x and more its real value... lol.

      @@igor-fk3vv moissanite occurs in nature...do a little research before you comment. I have both diamonds and moissanites, I also have a few sapphires as well. My marriage is solid not dependent on what I wear on my hand. People like you are brainwashed into believing diamonds and labels mean wealth in reality wealthy people don't waste their money on things that bring such little utility.

      @@jharris187 Yes they occurs in nature but none of them are gem quality (u didn't know that, right ? U should "do a little research before you comment "), so synthetic moissanite(always gem quality) are diamond simulant because they didn't look at all like natural moissanite, and poor people buy them only for this purpose, to mimic diamond.
      may be u have diamond but i'm pretty sure its some pavé stones(0.001ct), but these diamond are not on ur alliance because they are way to small, on ur alliance there is a moissi over 1ct made in china who have zero value but u still pay a lot for this shit. And u buy this large made in china moissi to look like someone who have a 1ct diamond, don't lie to urself...
      By the way I work in the diamond Industry :) So no i'm not brainwashed, but u, u bought something expensive to mimic diamond so yes, u r the brainwashed my friend. Ho and some diamond are sold over the million dollar, if wealthy people don't buy it as u said, who did ?

    Ok.....soooo.... you're saying that the only way to tell the difference between the two is if the following are all true
    1. The stone isn't set and is loose
    2. The stone isn't one of the new colorless versions
    3. The stone is cut good to average and not ideal ( ie hearts and arrows or diamond cut)
    4. You master how to see things through a loupe
    So why did I buy my gal a diamond again??????

      That was a mistake. I bought my girl a Moissanite and we've been very happy with it. Saved a ton of money and the difference in fire means that when people look at it (which only happened when we were engaged, to be honest) they always say it is the sparkliest diamond they have ever seen.

    Can you read through a moissanite stone?

    • @DiamantAgentur
      @DiamantAgentur  5 років тому

      If you refer to the point or line-test for round cut stones it will not give a hint whether or not the material is moissanite. Just like diamonds you will not be able to see through it as compared to cubic zirconia that shows the bend line or point-pattern, respectively.

    The only way I can tell moissanite from a diamond is that a moissanite sparkles a lot better than a diamond it’s got more brilliant it’s better than a diamond
