Myanmar Food at Feel Restaurant - One of the BEST Restaurants in Yangon, Myanmar for Burmese Food!

When I asked on a video about some suggestions for where to eat on my latest trip to Yangon, Myanmar, probably the most mentioned restaurant I was recommended was Feel Myanmar - it’s kind of like a Yangon institution, a well known restaurant that has everything type of food you can imagine - it’s local, and attracts a huge range of both Yangon residents and visitors. When I first arrived, I have to admit that I was a little on the disappointed side, mainly because I didn’t see the curries at first. Ying and I took a table outside, and the waiter handed us a menu - but I didn’t want a menu, I wanted the Burmese food curry buffet. So I asked the waiter, and he nodded, and led me into a room on the left side of the restaurant.
What I faced was one of the most spectacular displays of pre-made curry I’ve seen anywhere. There literally must have been hundreds of different prepared Myanmar dishes, all ready to be ordered, not to mention an army of staff waiting to serve you whatever you please. I have to admit that I went a little crazy, pointing to as many dishes as I could, without realizing how many dishes I had ordered - I was quite excited. The food all looks outstanding.
After ordering all the dishes, our waiter then served all the Burmese / Myanmar foods to our table. Probably my favorite dish of the meal was the mutton curry, a beautiful blend of softly curried mutton, with a marvelous blend of spices. It was a little oily, but the flavor was unbelievable. I also ordered some braised pork belly, which was cooked quite plain, but it was so tasty, mainly from the sweet onions it was cooked with. All the other dishes at Feel Myanmar restaurant were excellent too.
I think Feel Myanmar Restaurant in Yangon has found a great balance of variety, delicious food, and still keeps their cuisine quite local and authentic. One thing that really stands out is that they literally have hundreds of dishes for you to choose some - so believe me - you won’t run out of things to order. I think it’s a great introduction to eating Burmese / Myanmar food, when you’re in Yangon - it’s a place you should definitely eat at.

I wish to visit this country one day. I’m glad to have Burmese friends and that I could make my last year college project about the situation there. I learned a lot and spoke with a lot of people and really hope that everyone can experience peace once again. Praying 🙏🏼
If you wanna visit Myanmar(burma)i suggest you should visit it during apirl 18th to the end of the month because at the time of the year there's a water festival is like holloween but with water and no candy but just snacks people will throw water at you and is legal on 5 days and i suggest you downlaond food panda before you visit myanmar so when you visit it you can order and food from and Burmese shop

I have seen a few travel videos from Myanmar Mark,What comes across more than anything is how nice the people are there,On one video there bike broke down and people came out there houses and fixed it for them for nothing.....Just pure kindness.This country looks fantastic and more appealing by the day !! I can't wait to visit Myanmar and eat some of that delicious food. I'm so glad to see video recorded there. I remember seeing "Burma VJ" a few years ago, when filming was illegal. So many things have changed in just a few years.
Hey Arnór Bogason thank you, and hope you can visit Myanmar. Yes, things have really changed in the last few years. Even when I visited 2 years before this, it wasn't nearly as easy to film - now I walked around with my video camera filming as much as I could - no problems.
There is no problem for filming or drone. But please avoid government buildings when you use drone. Please Be careful when you climb on the old tamples or pagodas. 😇

When I first came across Marks videos his facial expressions would drive me crazy. Lol now however I love it. You can tell he's not faking when he tells you how the food tastes. And by now after watching him for almost 3 years I've got his "tell" down. When he don't really care too much for a particular food (like sweets) he nods his head slightly up and down then a little left to right but no enthusiasm like he does when he says something is "excellent". You gotta love him.
I'm Myanmar and I've been working in Bangkok for 3 years now and watching your video makes me so homesick. But I'm glad Feel will open a restaurant in Bangkok soon. Keep up the good work man :)

My wife and I just returned from a 2 week trip to Myanmar, and without a doubt they have some of the best food in the world. Especially lahpet thoke and mohinga (my personal favorite)! Unfortunately, we didn't get to try this place but I'll be sure to mention it next time we go! Love the videos!

I'm always watch your videos where you visit Burma. I love to see it because I'm a Burmese and now live in the U.S. let me tell you the one you tried which is wrapping fish cake in a leaf is called Wrapping Fish Cake. The leaf is called morinda leaf.

Hi:) I m from Yangon, Myanmar. About Burmese food.. we pit oil in almost every dish. Actually like if there's no soup..we put oil on our rice to eat. We cant eat if there's no soup or oil on our rice. So every Burmese food is oily. 😊

The fish dish at 1:53... It's normally made with cat fish and wrapped in the noni leaves.. Quite famous in Yangon, where u can get plenty of fresh fish...

Myanmar looks like a foodie heaven. I wanna visit someday. I have a close friend who is Burmese, so I know Burmese food is one of the most delicious foods in the world. With a little more exposure, Myanmar will see a tourism boom.

For future reference, mutton isn't actually goat, but just old lamb - I think over 2 years old. It gives it a richer, deeper flavour than young lamb, a little more akin to goat meat.

Burmese foods are the mixed between Chinese and Indian foods with modified by local herbs and spicy, chilli ... northern part of the country foods are dry and sweet... eastern foods are noodle n dry foods... western foods are spicy......mid land are oily foods... southern foods are spicy and salty ..........thanks for sharing our foods in your video ..it is amazing ...

The leaf one is actually grape leaf, i grow some in my garden too, you can make it with any kind of minced meat or even rice inside!

let me tell you the leave Burmese use in this dish is not grape leaves, but from a tree called "Morinda citrifolia", Noni. We eat the leaves, which are bitter, but nice!
