We were watching at home, great Rossi fans. All of us were stunned in silence.
Thing is... despite being excited for the Valencia round, it was impossible not to like Hayden. Even as a kid, I admired his passion.
I mean, just the way he was smashing the ground and the way he released his emotions afterwards... fucccing amzing.
We will never forget the Kentucky Kid.
What a magnificent time for Motogp, so much more interest in the sport back then, felt like the world was watching. Bikes looked better, sounded better, action looked faster and main protagonists were just exceptional. Brilliant
and since the new riders came up so fast with no fan fair it's hard to get behind a rider, especially riders that don't have the Rossi flair.
Magical back in the days, lets quick revive the atmosphere like F1

In reality Pedrosa did destroy Hayden’s championship hopes. Rossi choked it like he would in 2015.

Rossi elias did not go for this race. Rossi already said it once, what bothered Rossi was not that Toni Elias from Portugal won the race that year. What bothered Rossi was that he threw him in the first corner of Jerez that year.

I was working for a company in Louisville Kentucky at the time. I talked to someone there saying Nicky Hayden won the MotoGP world championship. She said, what? who? Wasn't even on the news there.

Yea ,,,if elias not pull miracle ,,,bah ,,,rossi fan since day one ,but ,,,now im glad that nikki is win crown that year . Rossi got 10th stolen in 2015 ,in every true moto fan. Rip champ ,you deserve this one ,,,

RIP NH69...so thankful this didn't cost Hayden his title and even glad for a bit of karmic justice re: Pedrosa never getting to hoist the champion's title.
Fun fact about the Ped-Hay crash:
In Italy during the races at the time Mediaset (they did taht until 2012) had to do two mandatory commercial breaks, but you could still see the race on a (really) small window that was on the down left of the screen, and the race audio (including the commentary by the iconic duo Meda-Reggiani) was cut off and instead you had to hear the spots audio
And the crash happened in the exact period of the first break lmao, so I imagine people going to bathroom in that exact moment or people begging to the race returning full screen meanwhile one of the most important moment (especially in Italy where was obvious which rider was loved by almost everyone) of the championship happened

Nicky had the pace to fight for victory in Valencia, he stayed in third position because it was enough to grab the title, but he could've challenge Bayliss if needed. In fact, he catched both Ducati easily, until he was told Rossi fell and was far behind, then he stayed safely in third, right behind Capirossi.

Was there ever any explanation as to why Tony Elias allowed Rossi to retake the lead after he first took it. ultimately he won but It seemed like he let rossi take that inside line and the lead for a while.

Was the commentary sound off during the pre race?
Everyone remembers Dani loosing the front and taking out Nicky, but nobody seems to remember the super aggressive pass that Nicky put on Dani the lap before - - maybe it was a little retaliation on Dani's part that just happened to go terribly wrong??
Considering that Nicky was leading the championship with only 2 races to go. I would say Nicky’s pass was justified. Would u race your teammate with that much at stake at end of the year?

Les motos étaient vraiment plus belles, trop de délire aérodynamique aujourd'hui. Je préfère le moto 2 au moto gp pour l instant.

The reason Elias won this race was because he had one of Pedrosas overnight tyres. ‘Overnight’ tyres, or ‘SNS’ ‘Saturday night specials ‘ as they were known, were tailored tyres given to a select few riders. Michelin at European rounds would collect data from warm up/ practice/ quali then build tyres and drive them overnight to the races. They had a modified Renault espace for this. Pedrosa rejected his as too hard. This tyre was perfect for Elias. Ironically Pedrosa fell off as we know, on a standard tyre. So it was his loss. Nicky Hayden still won the championship. Michelin wanted a Honda wsm, so they messed with rossi’s tyres during the year. Final round he was given a duff tyre.

Wow wonder wtf pedrosa was thinking ,or if he lost braking or whatever ?

You can see from the replay that Pedrosa was not trying to stuff Hayden, but lost the front end while behind him by about a half a bike length. Unfortunately, he and his bike slid into Hayden and took him out. As a team-mate, not in the points hunt, he probably shouldn't have been running so close early on, only the 2nd lap. But as we say, "That's racing."
Oh I was mostly joking ….yet I gotta wonder why he was coming in so hot on a team mate …? Looked like he clipped the inner track edge and it threw him outa wack and ultimately taking out Hayden ….maybe he did have brake issues and was just trying to turn in and away from Hayden as to not rear end him idk…?
