About the piece:
Quaver is a marimba étude consisting of only eighth-notes (quavers) throughout. Without the aid of rhythmic variation, the challenge is for the player to still be musical and expressive, while keeping clear and distinct voicing within the texture. The etude is written such that each mallet has a different voice, with the upper-most mallet being the melodic line.
