I agree about family. I love my family, but I have a lot of online crafty friends that I consider family too. ❤❤❤
Fabulous ideas and a clear reminder to me about using tip ins. I have thought of several other ideas for them such as using photos and patches from travels. It's fun, it's easy, and it's interesting for others to see and use. I love the idea of hidden journaling behind a paper tip in or an envelope stocked with a small homemade pad. I loved the ink marks that u turned into stems. I'm a BIG Cat lover and I saw , "Claw Marks"..Lol..and thought, Oh THAT looks Cool! Surprised me when U then turned them into flower stems, Awesome... not sure I would have thought about using them like that. 😊

Get something called Mosquito Bits granules & treat your houseplants with them. Usually once a season works well. If the soil has a lot of white in it, you may need fresh dirt first. They lay eggs in the dirt & you will continue to have them.

I've been looking for a video like this for weeks. I didn't understand how to start. I have so many signatures, sewn in, paper clipped, etc.

Love your journal … about your gnat/fruit fly problem, Amazon has these Gnat sticky traps for your plants. They work really great. They have several to choose from. Very inexpensive less than $11.00 they have one for 6.47 and 16 comes in a pack.
Yes! I am following along with Messy May too! It’s so much fun. The journal I made for the challenge is 3 x 4-1/2” so it’s pretty small, but I’ve been able to use a long of the scraps on my desk.

They are fungus gnats you treat with whatever chemicals or natural fungus gnat killer you choose, but you have to do it over and over or they will return, I have battled them and they are terrible. Check your soil you will see larvae crawling if you shake it a bit. You have to treat the soil or they won’t go away. Best to you! Thanks for sharing your talents!
I just found this, as I've been very busy in May. But, I think June sounds like a fun month to be messy!
Gnats are bad this year in Florida too. My husband got me fresh flowers for my birthday as he always does and within 2 days we had gnats in the house where normally that never happens.

Hi Melina, I'm a newbie, (to both your channel and junk journaling.) I started using the Zevo last year. It is so awesome...if you leave it plugged in constantly. I would suggest you get a package of refills along with your intial purchase, the first couple fill up fast. I get it from Walmart and it's reasonably priced. Blessings, Donna

I enjoyed this one when I first saw it and am enjoying it again. Those dang gnats!! I’m fixing to plant Microgreens inside and I fear I’ll have the same problem.

Hello Melina..about the gnats…you mentioned the house plants. Check each plant’s soil. Gnats can get into the soil and make a home. If you see them in the soil, water the plant completely with soapy water. I used dish soap. Just a drop in my water can and drench the soil. It will kill the offenders but hasn’t ever killed my plant. Hope you win the battle.
Agreed! Those are NOT gnats, they are mealy bugs/flies and you need to treat ALL of your plants at the same time. I never could have plants at work as someone somewhere in the office had an infested plant and you could not win the battle treating just your plants.
Well, there are no eggs nits or aphid crawling on any of them. I checked that to make sure. But I think I’ll dose them all with warm water and rub all the leaves down with rubbing alcohol anyway. Thanks for the suggestions!
@@MelinaPylantthey are very small you may not see them in the soil unless you disturb the soil quite a bit, they feed on the roots fungus, even then they are tiny. My husband cannot see them without strong readers. Need oil did not work for us, we had to get chemicals. Hope you find solution for your fungus gnats.

About your gnat problem.....I'd bet they are fungus gnats, they grow in the soil of houseplants. Get some diatomaceous earth ( it's a cheap purchase) and mix it in with the soil of your plants. It would be hest if you could re pot them all since you don't know which one might be infected, and add some powder to the fresh soil. You could try just dusting the surface soil if you don't want to do the hassle of mixing or re potting .Diatomaceous earth is a great thing to keep on hand if you are any kind of gardener or if you have pets that might get fleas. It's completely harmless to all but soft bodied creepy crawlers, you could even eat it if you really felt the need hahaha Wow! All that just to suggest you try diatomaceous earth for your gnat problem haha

This one is a "junky stacked" journal. It really doesn't have a cover. A cover can be made for it but this unusual journal was a "throw it together and don't think about it". And I love it! ha ha!

That was ironic... 1975 is my birth year.
We got gnats from plants. I tried EVERYTHING. Finally the internet said water them with hydrogen peroxide. The plants lived through it and the gnats finally disappeared. But it took a couple of waterings and I treated the drains at the same time. They were fungus gnats here.
