I had to laugh a few times. Your talking about a plant that blooms in "winter" while you still have beautiful green grass. My winters are much colder and usually the grass is brown and covered by snow or ice. 😂😂 other than that, very informative video.

Thanks for this one. I have one witchhazel and have now learned that I put it in just about the worst place. 😂
It’s okay. If it decides to die on me, I’ll make a better choice next time.
Thanks for these little snapshots. They’re really helpful.

Why do you consider it an "issue" that some varieties don't drop their leaves in the fall, but wait until the spring?

you mentioned bees, do you treat yours for mites? I started beekeeping last year and while the hives did great, both died in the last month due to mite overload that went untreated. I had gotten bad advice that you dont need to worry about mites in the first year.

I don’t treat my bees which is a bit controversial. I don’t like propping up weak bee genetics. I prefer to do Treatment Free Beekeeping (great Facebook group by the same name). My hive overwinter rate is higher than the average for my area but sometimes I do lose a colony over the winter and have to catch a swarm.

@@ParkrosePermaculture do you do any practices to stop them like screen botttom boards? I was hoping to go treatment free as im in a very rural area with not many people around, but the hives got destroyed by me doing nothing.
