I really appreciate the balancing information! I believe that is huge!
My Wrangler came with Trail Grapplers and I then upgraded to Ridge Grapplers and your host Gilbert is right on all counts! This tire is the ONLY tire that I'll ever roll on in my Jeep!
Perfect tire in EVERY respect...80mph on the interstate to 2.5mph on mountainside trails. Yes, I routinely drive over widely-varied road types and hereby attest to the Nitto Ridge Grappler!!
P.S. The road noise is sweet!! 🇺🇸
Most thorough review ive seen. Thanks Gilbert!
Thank you 😀 new content coming soon
I have them and wouldn’t change for anything! 40 years of living in the Rocky Mountains they are the best no matter the cost!!!
Had these tires and they are amazing
Love these tires!
Just got some I love them I used to have falken wildpeak at3s which where good also but this tires just gave my truck a more agressive look!!! And they drive smooth and quiet !!!
It’s crazy because these tires have been out for more than 6 years now and they are still a huge fan favorite just all around amazing tire 🛞 glad your happy with your set
Question I’m debating between these or the Wildpeaks for my Trailhawk. Which one is a taller tire?
@@Cofee1988 what size are you running ?
@@thetiredadtv6421 275 65/R18
@@Cofee1988 the nitto ridgegrapplers are 32.10 and the falken AT3W are 32.09 so pretty much the same height
You also can flip it can use both sides as outside, sidewalls are different.
Put these on my F-150. Absolutely love them. I do quite a bit of off roading, mostly woods & trails. No problems getting stuck.
That's awful. Usually you want something that's no problem from getting stuck.
Nice review. Thanks!!
Just ordered these and watching this review made me feel a lot better that I did 👍🏻
Great tire!!
Thanks for the great review
Thank you really appreciate it👍🏼
20x35x11.5 I love mine!!
I'm thinking about putting these tires on my 2021 Toyota 4Runner
I just put these on my truck today,on a 2022 F150 lariat Fx4
Thanks Gilbert!
Thanks for watching 👍🏼
Great review, thank you. I am am having a hard time finding out what sizes of this tire carry a 3 ply sidewall. I emailed Nitto about the the one that you just reviewed. 285/70/17 in load range E, which is the exact tire I am looking to purchase, and they responded that it was a 2 ply sidewall. However, like your video, I have seen and read otherwise. Do you know where I could find that info? Thanks again for the great video!
Thank you for the awesome comment 👍🏼😁
When looking at tires pretty much everything you need to know about the tire is on the side walls it says sidewall and I believe 2 ply steel and 1 ply nylon/polyester and below it says the finally rating. Which on this tire equals to 3 plys. so on the full 10ply E rated they are 3 the C rated 6plys are only 2 ply sidewalls
They are the best tires ever I love them I always buy them. One thing is Joe can I tell how old are the tires are like when they were made
How your mileage on those tires and everyday driving on regular roads, and if you tow is it stable? Would like to get you opinion, thank you
Would you recommend this tires for a 1500 mile road trip, mostly highway, im moving across country, or should i just buy them at my destination, i love these tires
For an aggressive tire they do ride very nice and are quiet I mostly recommend these tires for dirt roads and rocks but they do preform very nice on the highway I would still recommend them because they also wear very nice
I’ve used many different tires for Railroad use. Cooper makes a good tire and Goodyear Kevlar is the best. Everything else is prone to getting flats.
Those Goodyear’s are also a really good tire we sell a lot of Goodyear’s too 😎
@@thetiredadtv6421 nice review on this tires friend what about noise do this are noise?
@@sopito7883 they are pretty quiet for how aggressive they are
Which do you recommend for a ram 1500 in size 275/60R20? I'm trying to decide between these nitto ridge grapplers XL or LT rated? Mostly commuting, occasional off-road, Occasional towing of 21ft camper.
Price wise there is not a huge difference but the XL are going to ride better with the LT you might get a little more tread sway unless your pulling your trailer then the LT are going to shine and the LT are going to last longer if it was my truck I would do the LT they handle the dirt and rocks much better and again your going to love having them when your towing a trailer because you can up the air pressure vs the XL they can only max out at 51 psi the LT can go up to 80psi
Gilbert, great review. Before I purchase these bad boys, I’d like your advice. I am looking for a daily driver family friendly aggressive tire. Only off road Ill do is camping and lake days. Towing a small coffee trailer. Mostly daily driven. I don’t mind some noise but how are these with the noise?
These are a great tire for that but it sounds like the Falken AT3W might be a better tire for you or even the Falken RUBITREK at depending on the size of your tire
@@thetiredadtv6421 23’ F150 with the factory 20” I’ll be going with 35s
@@thetiredadtv6421 probably should have mentioned but I live in Dallas, Texas if that matters.
@@gman0812 it definitely does the falkens would be a little less noisy and do way better in the rain and bad weather conditions and would last longer the nittos would be much better on rocks and gravel roads
How are these tires in snow?
I have Nitto Ridge grapler tires in size 38 13.5 x 24, new vehicle. Anyone know how they'll perform or perform in the snow? Thx!
i just got a set of those tires🔥!!! video coming soon on my channel!
Sweet can’t wait to see it I’ll hit the bell 🛎 on your page so I don’t miss it
Would you recommend these or ko2’s? Can you tell much difference in the sl, c, e load rating tires by looking at them?
The nittos you can tell the difference from the different load rating and BFG no because they only make them in C D or E rating. As far as which I would chose it depends on what kind of truck or suv they are going on and depends if you go into the snow or sand more
Looking at something to go on an f150…c rating. More snow/ice, almost no sand.
@@ThunderRunner I would honestly do the BFG or falken AT3W or so far my favorite and what I run on my F150 for my winter use tires are the Goodyear duratracs
I am going 2 make the switch I'm 55 and have always run bfg's and have always had balance issues I'm done
I just ordered mine, umm they look nice umm, have a ton of good reviews umm and I know they’re going to look really good on my ride umm.
are this tires affect the mpg on the gas trucks ? what about vibration on high speed like 80 ?
Depends on what kind of vehicle and what ply rating there is 4 ply standard loadwhich doesn’t really affect gas mileage and if you get a 10ply or even 12 ply in some sizes it will drop it anywhere from 1-2 mpgs and vibration should not be at all noticeable if they are properly balanced after being installed
Just ordered these puppies.
I ordered a set today as well. They come in Thursday 5/6. I can’t wait!
@@alanpeterson6842 nice. I’m excited
Great choice guys 👍🏼 you won’t be disappointed
Great vid, thanks. Lots of people love these tires. The issue of weight comes up as a key consideration for many. As you said, though, it depends on your application and needs.
As others have said below, snow performance might be an issue and for some of you, the snow rating might be important.
Thank you and yes snow is not this tires strong suite but if you don’t live we’re is snow one great tire for everything else
@@thetiredadtv6421 weird cause they’re 3 peak rated.
@@FRWD_FXLRST are they? Just ordered a set of 33x12.5 20s . And was hoping they had the 3 peak rating
Got em on me Gladiator ✌🏾
How are they holding up? My falken are cupping on the Gladiator Mojave
Putting 275 55 R20 on my 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland 20inch stock rim 😎
I would be interested in seeing that. I have an 18 Overland and am considering these. How are these working out for you?
@@GSELF11 great I run them with no worries
@@kieranarcand802 do you have 20" wheels?
@@GSELF11 yessir
Question: did you lift your jeep? Any rubbing on the tires?
What is your opinion on its wet / snow performance? I have heard good and bad things. Would appreciate your opinion.
I have definitely herd mixed responses from customers on these in the winter time in the snow most customers tell me they work very well in more slush Ice and heavy rain they don’t preform as well because they don’t have a lot of cuts and 3d sipes built into the tire
Thanks. I decided to try them out. I will let you know my thoughts after I see a few miles. I’m switching from Falken Wildpeaks because they run great but I only got about 21,000 miles in just over 2 years . Hoping to get a few more miles out of these.
@@jimdarcy8970how’s the update with the tires for winter
What size can I put on a 2021 silverado 20 inch biggest tire?
275-60-20 maybe a 275-65-20
The first one is a 33 and the second is a 34
Is it a trail boss or regular? 275 regular 285 trail boss
I just did these in 275 on my 21 boss cause I’d bought 265 snow chains and didn’t wanna lose the ability to use them
Hello i have ridge grappler 35×11.50r20lt in gmc 2500 but dont know how much air i should put in?
Thank you.
Is it most hwy driving and do you tow with it ?
Thank you so much for taking time out to reply.
No towing at all but yes some highway miles.
@@Gwagon1111 no problem and to wear the best I would usually run between 50-60 if it’s a diesel if it’s just a gas 2500 you can run 45-50 and of course if you ever tow with it you should between 60-70 psi
Great info thank you.
its diesel and anytime it goes under 59 it shows in gmc app on phone that truck has low air pressure that's why wasn't sure how much is a recommended recommended
About how many miles is a good time to rotate?
Depends on the rig but generally every 5k
Great tire, just put them on my tundra.
It’s hard to keep these in stock they are truly a great tire
How loud are they? Plus how are they in the rain?
What size do I need to replace my factory 275/60/20 on my 2022 gmc elevation with a 2 inch leveling kit
296-60-20 should fit great that equals to a 34.25 inch tall tire and about 11.5 inches wide they make this tire and a lot of great options in that size
I like these but the 10 ply version...
Did you say the “infamous” Ridge Grappler?
Yes I meant famous 👍
So each side is different looking?
Yes Nitto does that on all their grappler line up
@@thetiredadtv6421this has been confusing me for so long thank you. just ordered mine

Is good for snow ?
I’ve had a lot of customer tell me they are good in fresh powder snow but not great in more hard ice
Live in the Midwest, no issues at all with light or deep snow. Far better than Nitto Grappler G2. ( on F150 )
@@marcm8209 does it have the 3 peak snow rating?
@@mr2gud2u I don't think it has the 3 peak rating. But it didn't seem to be bad in the really cold January weather either.
How are these on the highway guy's?
Everyone tells me they ride very quiet on the highway as long as they are rotated and balanced every 5-6k miles
🍒
I got two questions. How much does that tire cost? And where did you get them editor skillls from???
Tire is about $260 a tire and the internet haha
37”x13.50r18 make a f250 higher.
37”x13.50r18 nitto ridge grappler v.s 275/65r18 lt stock rims.
Why the F is the camera movin' all over.
Anyone actually wheel with these?
I have seen a couple people run these on the trails and love them especially on rocks and dirt
I am so tired of reviews that have no real world action. How do they perform and how are they lasting. I drive 45k per year. I need to hear how long they last on what truck.
Do you have a half ton or 3/4 ton truck ?
@@thetiredadtv6421 I have a 1 ton truck single rear and a Toyota Tacoma. I’ve had three Chevy Duramax is and another Dodge three-quarter ton 59. The only tires I’ve been able to get to run more than 35,000 miles on any of these trucks are Dick Cerec fun country 2. I’ve run needles toils BF good rich Michelin and nothing seems to get over 35,000 miles in Arizona except the tire I listed above. With 35s on my 05 Chevy Duramax I was able to get 65,000 miles out of the set a tires with 10 to 15,000 left when I got rid of the truck. Nobody is talking about how long the tires are actually lasting because 35,000 miles is unacceptable.
@@rcmawby the nittos are going to get you about the same about 35-40k miles on the 1 tons with proper rotation and balancing they should get you 50 plus on the Toyota. The only other tires I’ve seen go farther are the Toyo AT2
@@thetiredadtv6421 I have had five sets of AT2’s and even with proper balancing and rotation have never gotten over 35,000 miles from them. I’ll never buy another set. That was on half ton trucks Chevys. I put a ton of miles on vehicles and nobody seems to make a tire the last more than 50,000 miles other than the DCFC2 that I have found so far. I am looking for a tire that will get me 50 to 60,000 miles on my Tacoma at the moment. And that won’t have regular blowouts like the good years that they put on the truck from the factory.
@@rcmawby The dic Cepek is a really good tire a lot of people like them. Maybe try the coopers AT3 XLT or the new mickey Thompson Baja boss AT. The only other tire you might have good luck with and what I am personally running on my truck are the good year duratracs , the only thing though with the good years are people have said that their sidewalks are a little softer. But I have not noticed any problems with them.
They do wear fast and no warranty
On some truck they will wear fast and your right they don’t come with a mileage warranty they only come with a stand craftsmanship warranty for defects
@@thetiredadtv6421 thank you , love the vids 👍
You might want to do a better job on the voice recording as it was difficult to hear what you were saying without going maximum audio. Every other video is loud when set to 40. I had to go to 80 to hear you talk.
I am going to have to try that thank you for the suggestion 😁
NITTO RIDGE GRAPPLERS are ROCK MAGNETS and will destroy your truck.
I sold mine and bought some TOYO OPEN COUNTRY RT TIRES. The RT has a wider space on the outside treads and the ROCK EJECTORS actually work , and they are QUIET ENOUGH. I Used to have to stop at the end of my driveway everytime I left and pluck ROCKS out of my NITTO RIDGE GRAPPLERS, and that GETS OLD QUICK. With the RT tires NO MORE ROCKS, just giving a heads up folks. You don't want to spend 7 thousand dollars for a lift and tires to hear ROCKS peppering down the side of your $47,000 to 60,000 dollar TRUCK🤑
how the hell you review a tire you havnt drove on???
It’s an overview of the features and benefits not a review. Plus I see these come into my shop every single day when I rotate and balance them and ask all my customers on how they like them.
"Infamous"? Think you should check the definition.
Your right 😆 that’s embarrassing well now I know for next time thanks 👍🏼
or perhaps instead of criticizing, upload your version and show everyone how its done!
My experience with them has been the complete opposite.
I’ve had them on my Escalade (285/45r22), expedition twice benefit of the doubt (295/70r17), and f150 (35x12.5r20).
They never balanced right, they ride pretty rough (even with air ride suspension), they don’t last long at all 30k was an average of all 3, they are a tad on the noisy side, and lastly they cost an arm and a leg each time I’ve spent either close to or right at 400 for each tire.
I will give them that they have great handling, grip, and performance off road and some what on road and also they look nice the main reason I kept buying them.
So unless you’re a true nitto bandwagon person or like looks over performance and quality stay away from these.
Yes I would love to say this is the first time I’ve heard this but as the years go on idk if nitto change their compound or what but I have heard very similar issues as your having
Not a friend of rains
How are they in snow ❄️ and and ice 🧊
I have had customers tell me they do ok in the soft powdered snow but not good in the hard pack and ice 🧊
