I lived inn the Tampa bay area 40 years ago but moved back up to New England for work in 1988. Recently I returned to Florida to get away from cold icy winters and I am so glad I did. But since I returned it's almost like everyone is trying to embrace the icy cold of the north. Tampa has a hockey team now, there is ice skating in Clearwater and now you have Snowcat Ridge. What's next? Curling?
@Summer Reign It's covered with ice. The tubes would slide down ice better than snow. If it was covered with snow some of the snow would probably be dragged down to the bottom. When you see cars driving in the snow it's not as bad as when they are driving on ice and sliding all over the place.
Saw a 15 minute video on snowcat and he said there's no snow falling in the globe and literally a few hand fulls to make a snow man...and no snow on the slides.
Great idea... now lets all crank our AC down as low as it can go, open all the doors and windows, and leave our water running so we can make Florida a winter wonderland, and let Alaska do the opposite! Brilliant!
What a disappointment, was expecting real "Snow Tubing" instead of some type of surface to tube down. I've seen it done in the bay area but on a smaller scale during the winter time. Just wish someone would build a place in Florida for indoor skiing like they do in other countries. The only place I know of in the US is "Big Snow American Dream" East Rutherford, New Jersey.

Only someone who has never been on a real mtn tubing would think this is remotely close to being real.
After watching all the videos of this park I don't think that it would be the same as taking a road trip to Colorado to see real snow.
