I’m shit at reviews but I’m giving this album a review cause I love it just that much:
First off Lim Jahey killed it with the production. He’s definitely the most qualified guy to be in charge of the beats for this project. Inimical works best with a tranquil, pensive atmosphere which Jahey provided on every track (besides 2B, obviously). There are lots of vocal bits that are embedded seamlessly in these beats that complement Inimical’s verses, and in tracks like “4A” when he finishes rapping, the vocals provide for an outro that serves as a melodic echo of Inimical’s verses. I love the varied collection of sounds that Jahey brought on this project, from the crispy piano-driven beat of “2A” to the dual-wielding “5B” that starts off with a surreal, tightly focused sound but then transitions midway to this soaring, smooth vocal bit that wraps up the album gorgeously. Hell of a good job, Jahey. Not to mention Axian’s work on “2B” was dope too!
And of course, the big man Inimical himself kills it yet again. Plenty of cleverly incorporated references in this project, as typical of Inimical’s work. Love all the wordplay too, lines like “pee on and piss off / my friends” and “maybe with the rhymes / I’ll start to find reason” are gold. I noticed that in Inimical’s first track “2A”, he says “I bet you feel so complete / so complete”, and in his last track “4B” he says “may these songs complete me / as I complete them”. I like to think that was deliberate, but either way it’s pretty dope to see repetition like that at both the start and end of this album. Great work, dude.

yo this means a lot, especially coming from you ! you really understand and think about the music that we create and that is something that drives artists to keep working and creating, so thank you for that. ima share some more insight on a few of the songs you talked about because maybe youll find it interesting: 4a is one of the oldest beats i made out of these and its a phoebe snow sample off a record i bought for $2 at a savers (local thrift store). its a classic mpc jam that i chopped up on them legendary pads in one evening. the crispy piano on 2a is an ahmad jamal sample off of one of my favorite records of his, which i will keep a secret for now, and was one of the first beats i made on my sp 303. 5b is one of my favorite beats i have made recently and its a sample i found off a record i copped at a goodwill last year during school. the sample has a swingy vibe so i chopped up every bass note and then every beat that didnt have any bass and made two sections so when the bass dropped it would sound real nice, which it does hahah. anyways thanks for listening and supporting !!

I initially thought that the outro of 4B was the beginning bit of 5B which is why I described the latter track as a duo of beats, my mistake haha but it's still all dope regardless. After I listened through this masterpiece for a couple of times now, I feel ready to leave my thought about it.
First of all I am happy to see people like Eva which take their time and leave feedback, this is exactly what this tape needs!
So to begin with let us talk about Lim Jahey.
Man the beats you have created here are so well done and feel balanced when it comes to drums and sample, it feels like a whole, like a wonderful story.
My favorite beats are 2A and 4B.
The feature from Axian is astonishing, the guitar vibes fit in so well, most definitely one of my favorites on this tape!
Did I forget anyone? Hell yeah I did, the author himself, the second protagonist of this tale, Inimical.
The lyrics are so well written and build up, it definitely gave me some moments of "THATS WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT", lovely constructed and build into the beats.
2A is my favorite track lyrical wise forsure, the flow and mixing is great aswell tho!
I am not good at writing stuff like this in my second language but I hope you liked this little feedback.

Third time listening to this album to it's completion. three separate days, and three separate times of day, I feel now, that I've developed the sense for this album and can express just how magnificent it is and how I felt connected.
1A pulls you into this other-wordly vibe, easing you into the beauty behind 2A. poetic lacks justice to explain layered art with soul. as this album transitions into 3A, the vocals intrigue the mind into a state of conscious thought. 4A is unpaired in balance. leaving you both satisfied and wanting more lyrics, the stylistic background fills the urge for more.
1B is split. this track, off-key in segments removes the previous aura form the "A" section of the album in a smooth manner, without disrupting the feel of connectivity. 2B is by far one of the best tracks you've made. dark is a weak way to describe it, but lovely doesn't match the tone of the song... either way, instantly grabbed my heart with that melody. as for track 3B, this does a splendid job of showing some monologue with self that you may be facing with an always entertaining beat. 4B reminds the listener that this is art, real and raw, and executed very well. musical change was an unexpected blessing to say the least. to tie the album together, 5B strengthens the grace of each individual track and collectively as a whole.
Art like this is rare to come by. I took my time to analyze more as a musician than a friend on this one, and I want you to know, I am very, very proud to have this in my favorites.
This is your calling.
Don't ever doubt that.

well that was fantastic. your production is always pretty dope, but here i was fucking taken aback. 2a is without a doubt the best thing you've ever made. the outro, just, fuck. i love them all though. 2b-4b, 3a, and 4a?? AND 5B! 3BBB. shit dude.
one thing that really stands out to me is the timing. each point which every sound comes in and out was fucking brilliantly done. your voice blends so well with the beats, there's a very dreamlike quality to it. i think if i had to describe the album in a couple words, it'd be a lucid nightmare. the nightmare of an artist suffering depression, losing his touch with the world around him. he further submerges himself in the world of music as an escape from day to day struggles, but he's tied down and driven mad by the one thing which he will never escape, his mind.
i love the lyrics as usual, and how everything comes together, how the sound reflects the themes, incredible. i can't praise 2a enough, it is actually perfect. also 4b. and we'll just throw 3b on there too. the lines hit a lot harder on the album than usual in your other tracks, i think a lot because of your delivery, atmosphere, and again the timing.

YO thank you! you clearly have good taste noticing the outro of 2a its one of my fav parts of the album. Inimical's lyrics really accentuate the change in the beat, so thank him for that beautiful outro all i had to do was press the reverse button on my sp haha. im really glad you dig this, 5b is a great beat that i shared some info about in a comment above if you want to know more but 3b is another good one you pointed out. the sample is of a guy named boots randolph lol hes some saxophone player i had never heard of and i copped his record at goodwill thinking it would be meh but i found that sample and made that beat on my sp asap. Its a funny beat cuz it is just like 3 parts ( it was originally called 'this beat has 3 parts' when i first recorded it and sent it to inimical) but i like it a lot and the last section is in 7/8 one of my favorite time signatures. thanks for really listening to the music and appreciating it, your comments and thoughts are what keep making me and inimical create music
