I met a Colombian girl from Cartagena here in Poland, and we talked for 2 hours about her country. Made me all nostalgic about my time there, which caused this video.
you only talked?
I always loved the expression “magical realism” used to describe Colombia. There is something really magical about it that’s hard to explain but you just feel it when you’re there. It’s awesome. Never felt it anywhere else.
Very true
All men miss Colombia for one reason, and one reason only.
And that reason is the great church services they offer lol
Not true. It was cheap and Im from Canada. It was blike my home province in many ways BC but warmer. As far as Im concerned Canada is far more crime than people think. Colombia is dangerous if you arent street wise and untrusting, so go live in a compound and be home via taxi at 8pm. I dont understand how people can travel, act like they do back home or worse and then get bad results. Find a place(region) you feel safe and comfortable then rent. But dont go where the women are hottest. Where there are hot women there is always the devil near. The other thing is, learn some Spainish, the fact you even are trying warms them up.
Facts
When a foreigner meets a Colombian, the first thing they ask is you have drugs?
Do you have coke or marijuana?
Foreigners love to get high; they are consumers, especially Europeans and those from the United States.
Great authentic video. Colombia is your home away from home. Everything that happened there made you a better person
amen bro
I said this when he left Colombia he will be back. He commented never. I think he will be back.
I think Colombia forever has my heart after living there 2 years and I am sure I will move back at some point.
Me too I miss colombia. Just got divorce in itagui last years. But I will go back in colombia
Good video
My fam and I lived in Colombia, we are living in Brazil now
I miss a couple of the things that you are talking about but Brazil has been nice also, especially the people
Came back from Colombia 3 weeks ago. I was 6 weeks in Medellin and I loved it. I agree in all what you said about Co (also in your other vids) with all the pros and cons....
Bro I grew up in manizales and the weather there is the best ! Never too cold never too hot.
I miss seeing colombia content. Poland and its people are not interesting at all or good looking. I watched one poland video and couldnt sit through it all. Nothing like here in Colombia bro.
Polish girls are definitely good looking bro, idk what you're talking about
I miss Colombia also. It’s been a year since I’ve visited (:
Planning a trip soon though 😍 time to eat all the good food & visitar pueblos ☺️
I had a Colombian girlfriend in Mexico. She was funny, full of energy and had a wild temper. I miss this.
Hey Wes great video - Asian guy here who’s been living in MDE for a few years now. A question I often ponder is do we as foreigner actually love Colombia or do we only love what Colombia can do for us? Meaning do we love Colombia so much we are willing to denounce are citizens ship for this country? What if we didn’t earn dollars, would our experience / feelings still be the same? If the women were not hot would we care to be here?
Random thoughts
Keep doing your thing bro
100% agree
I use a simple metric: Would you rather be poor in The 🇺🇸 or 🇨🇴 ?
I’d rather not be poor
I never been to Colombia, but I’ve been to other Latin American countries, and in most of them I felt something similar of what you’ve described in the video. Latin America has a very good vibe in the air, and I miss it quite a lot. Also, I have family there… One conclusion I got after watching many videos about Latin America after being there, is that is very easy also to fall in love with Latam when you have a “European/American”economic-backup or salary. For sure, a life with the local salaries in many of these countries is not that amazing, in many factors. But still, I found Latin people particularly joyful. Something that is hard to see in other areas of the world. I hope I can visit Colombia at some point…
Great video
Saying that most Colombians haven't left their country because it is so bio diverse is completely wrong. Almost every Colombian wants to travel abroad, but the salaries are so low that most people can't afford to do that.
I didn't say they didn't want to, just they don't need to
@@WheresWes They can't get snowy mountains like the alps or the amazing historic cities like in Italy, France or Spain and lots of other things. They only have a little bit of not so good beach and some mountains. And you can't really hike like in the Alps, because it is too dangerous there are hoods everywhere or guerilla or some other bullshit.
Need to, opportunity maybe
I'm Colombian, and what you said at 0:34 is so true and sad... You've probably heard the saying 'No dar papaya,' which essentially means that if someone does something bad to you, it's considered your fault for allowing them to take advantage of you. Living in an extremely dangerous country like Colombia, it's common for people to have this mentality. Sometimes, I see tourists putting themselves at risk of being robbed, kidnapped, or worse. Foreigners visiting Colombia should learn to keep a low profile, which means not speaking foreign languages in public, avoiding flashy clothing, refraining from using expensive phones in public places-basically, when visiting Colombia, it's best not to draw attention to yourself.
as a colombian I wonder why happens to a lot forengeirs despite having bad experiences they still coming A guy got kidnap rob twice and decide to settle even suprise me that want to live in Cali
Great video. One thing you said, that I’ve heard repeatedly and also felt myself, is that you feel like your personality is different in Spanish. I’ve heard non native Spanish speaking UA-camrs say this and myself as a non native Spanish speaker have felt the same. I’m more open and social in Spanish than I am in English
❤
Medellín: “The city of Eternal Spring” ☀️
Variety is the spice of life my friend
Bro is an honorary Colombian. One day I really want to go there and check it out and see if i could buy a second house there. Or potentially central america/dominican republic/uruguay or argentina.
But yeah coming from a 6 month of living in Bangkok, I can totally relate with you how much better it feels when the locals are warm and welcoming. You just gotta find that place that fits you
You should do a video of how gringos are being kicked out of colombia due to gentrification and prepagos
i'm not attached enough to Colombia anymore to know about it.
Thank you so much for your videos.I am sorry to say this but it was kind of heart broken for me with the situation with your ex wife :(
5:45 Chef Burger!
Come back, dear friend!
You have won a very special place at Colombian's heart.
You will have protection from our Police Departament, and from many people, too!
At least for a week!
May the Lord bless you! ✨️🌟
I mean, to come for a week... your protection will last much longer than that! 😊
I'm from and live in B.quilla... I still remember the vlig you recorded here in my hometown; actually, one of the people that passes by when shooting was my brother, real! 😂
I think you're going to fit in great in Argentina when are you going to go live there
So you’re going back?
No, it was nice to reminisce
Can you visit my country Suriname and say what you think of the experience.
Hey Wes, can you also make a video why you don't miss colombia to get both sides?
check out a video I did called Why I'll Never Live in Colombia again
You're an intelligent man. What you describe at 1:15 is quite accurate. The dopamine spike that gave you probably exceeds what this doobie is doing for me right now. Cannabis is not a drug, but you get my point lol. The love dopamine was probably equivalent to the dopamine spike of doing a line of cocaine.
lol, if you want to feel like shit, just walk to any random Zabka stores. They make you feel like you just commit a crime or something. Met a Honduran here in Warsaw and we had a good laugh at how the employees there always look so pissed off 😂
haha yes
LAS COLOMBIANAS
You need to come to Puerto Rico Wes! Best of both worlds! 🇵🇷🇺🇸
I've been. It was cool but not for living
@WheresWes Yeah I get where you're coming from. There's a lot we've copied from the US instead of innovating in terms of infrastructure and public transportation. If you don't own a car here, you're practically stranded. And the electricity system is too unstable for a US territory.
I wondering How i Could get a Job in Colombia?
The US has great nature but US cities are so shitty and soul sucking that anything else in any other part of the world looks like an upgrade or even amazing in comparison. Also, I believe dating and getting to know someone in other cities plays a big part in ranking these places. So there's an emotional factor here.
Hey man look I know that you didn’t want to go back to Colombia cos of one guy but if you can report him to the police in Colombia about the threats that he made then at least you can be safe from making threats against you.
And besides moving back to Colombia would show that your ex wife’s father or whoever that made threats against you that he’s defeated and if you can fight back his threats then at least he can ignore providing that you can steer well clear of your ex wife now.
Why would I risk it?
@@WheresWes because you need to in order to get out of your comfort zone and face the fears. You don’t have to live there, but you can visit again and see how much has changed cos a lot of things have changed since you went away.
Did you visit the Balkans? If not, just do it, you'll like it much more than Poland.
As long as someone makes a sassy and funny titok about how rude and serious polish ppl are (slavic smile and all that) everyone agrees and laughs. But if you do it for real in a video a lot of people are pissed I don't get it
Now I wanna visit Colombia for real
lol what a great point
Hey Wes, I hope your channel isnt turning into a "Nostalgia" content. Time to find a new girl soon and make more vlogs!
Previous life May be you was Colombian??
Maybe not Colombian but latin for sure
@@WheresWes did you visit combodia seim reap.,?? I want retire there.
Why didn’t the marriage to the Colombian girl work out?
Watch the video on why I left my colombia wife
Coming soon: "Why I came back to Colombia". (Wes, volve ya te perdonamos)
Jesus just go back already lol
lmao nah
You look likes a Vietnamese to me
we all look the same bro
