Gotta give it to Wyll, her eyes are indeed beautiful. For someone who seems so alien and hostile at the beginning, she's very easy to fall for. But I actually loved her rough and brutally honest attitude from the start. Amazing character design, writing and VA job, all at once.
The way she says no whenever someone asks "oh, really?" is so great. What's even funnier is she never gives indication with the statements that it's a setup, so we have no idea how many times she set up that joke with some outrageous false anecdote and everyone just took it as fact :D
@@randomcenturion7264 Lae'Zel was my kidnapped party member, and I was devastated after getting her approval to max, just to have her yoinked. Got her back though, and still love her as a character,
In her previous life she was a bard. You can tell by her charisma being so high. (only Astarion may rival it ... but if we are honest, her sense of humor is as sharp and witty as a club - the kind she beats people to death with... :I
I love how she is so blunt and straitforward most of the time, that when she is being sarcastic, she always has to clarify it to people. Lae'zel: On Creche K'liir, I was known for my dazzling smile and charisma. Astarion: Really? Lae'zel: NO. Lae'zel: I've been told I'm quite scintillating. Wyll: Have you really? Lae'zel: NO.
I thought her wit was light and piercing, but has great impact and drives straight to the point. So I gave her a long spear that she throws cause shes muh olivine olympian. So good at chucking shade she can throw it back and it would kill. I agree she could be a bard. She should drop beats cause she is so athletic she could spin up a track. She always seems like she had never been praised enough for her charms, and half joking at the cruelty, makes a point of it. She is so goring my sides hurt everytime she said anything.
I never saw #7 because I always finished the Creche before going to the Shadowlands, but after watching it... Yeeaahh, Lae'zel is definitely the "sub who likes to be brought to heel" type. XD
Brat Lae’zel haha. Totally. I think there’s a dialogue option during a romance scene where tells you to submit and you can flip it around on her and tell her you’re going to be in charge. Canon choice imo haha
@@ThatOne-s6g Not completely. Starting Act 2 will lock you out of going back to the Wilderness (where most of Act 1 takes place), but you can actually still go back to the Monastery Pass and the Creche, and thus you can still do Lae'zel's personal quest.
@@Zaxares False. You can go back to any part of Act 1 up until the point where you enter the Shadowfell to find the Nightsong, after which neither the Rosymourn Monastery Trail nor the Wilderness will be accessible. (I hear that the Emerald Grove will be inaccessible if you go to Act 2 without stopping the Rite of thorns, but I haven't actually tested that.) The Githyanki Patrol at the bridge near the Road to Baldur's Gate waypoint will not appear if you haven't been to the Creche and entered the Planecaster on Vlaakith's orders yet. In several of my playthroughs I decided to go to that waypoint first and leave a bunch of smokepowder barrels where the Githyanki would appear, so that after visiting the Creche I could return directly to that waypoint and kill all the Gith with a simple Firebolt. If you never enter the planecaster the patrol will never show up, but their Ch'r'ai will join the other Ch'r'ai in the Knights of the Shield hideout below the Elfsong tavern. Note that Minthara and Halsin will refuse to go back to Act 1 and might even leave the party permanently if you roll poorly and don't show interest if quickly returning to Act 2. Also note that this will not matter if you cast Silence on them so that they cannot complain. After fast travelling out of the silence bubble characters will remain silenced indefinitely until the next long rest, but if the one who cast silence was out of the bubble or can use the sorcerer's subtle spell metamagic then you can just cast it again and let it run out or stop concentrating on it to remove silence. In my current game I did everything the creche except talking with Ch'r'ai W'wargaz and using the planecaster, as I decided it would be more fun to leave one part member in camp and then blow up the place instead of using the crest to safely take the Blood of Lathander. I then went on to Act 2 without Voss showing up. When at the Moonrise Tower's docks Lae'zel insisted we find the creche to use the Zaithisk, even though we'd already used and destroyed it, but I had high enough charisma to convince her to give up on that silly idea.
Lae'zel's "Chk" brings me life! She was also the reason I was interested in getting BG3 (then Karlach happened...) This was awesome, Dragon! Love that you put the "Bury the Hatchet" in there! It's so good! Wyll is also trying way too hard and Lae'zel admitting she missed you is adorable
laezel looks like a sad scared little kid in some of her facial expressions"or is that just me perhaps?"! She is during my playthrough chased by her own,all alone and shes probably afraid even though she wouldnt allow anyone to understand that....just looks at laezel in some scenes ..... thanks
I fell for her once I saw her eyes. They are much more soulful in those moments. Lae'zel says she is brave, but often shows stark fear or terror, intense, glassy eyed, full of trauma. And thats how I know she being brave and thats why I love her. All those muscles and scars. They who strike fear in others are in fear themselves. She needs protection.
I think she's the youngest companion, which honestly makes sense. She's basically like if you took a college kid and dropped them off halfway across the planet from their home.
Sarevok really can eat shit though he’s the most busted boss fight with his permanent buffs and his ghosts that can cast slow and haste he’s harder to fight than Orin.
No.12 actually happened for me right before the long rest where Shadowheart tries to kill her in her sleep, definitely made Shadowheart look a lot more rational about that decision since a few minutes before Lae'zel had just threatened to slit her throat in tne dark
You missed "You walk the line between confident and arrogant. A beguiling turn of events," if you tell her you're going into the Zathisk first, because she'd still be hunting for this place if it wasn't for you.
The funny thing about Lae'zel is that the exact same options lead to increasing her approval of you or making her leave the party and turn hostile, depending on the roll of the dice.
When Lae'zel shot down Wyll with "I hardly believe in love at all." I knew she was getting it first. She is so cute and funny, eternally feisty and likes you standing up for her, and too her. Perfect woman. Romance is like a battle that becomes a ballad.
It gets me how adorable she is in her way, considering the absolute UNIT she is in the field, in game. Coming out of every scrap covered head to toe in gore lol
I don't know why, but when Lae'zel speaks, I can only see Devora Wilde, but Shadowheart is always Shadowheart no matter how many times I have seen Jennifer English talk.
When I played for the first time I killed her because I was used to the lame motive of "mean character = betrayer". Gosh, I love Bg3 for how baffling yet realistic it is when it comes to character's personality. Nobody isn't directly good or evil, everyone has their reasons, goals and traumas. Now Lae'zel is one of my favourite characters, I love her development. Even after that unforgivable killing, when I met other giths I was like "Okay, compared to these space frogzis, she really was the chill one".
I took to her right away, on my first playthrough blind. My buddies hated her because on their playthroughs they only saw her arrogance and racism. I just figured 1) she’s the first ally we made, we owe a lot to her 2) her people are clearly the most capable to fight the mindflayers 3) she had the first lead on how to cure the worms. When she’d get out of line I’d put her in her place, turns out she’s really into that. I ended up really liking her and enjoying her storyline.
As an autistic person I'm drawn to Laezel. Sometimes I feel like the Laezel of the friend group where I'm not trying to be funny but somehow my dry delivery some people find funny anyway. X'D
