It is possible to use bass guitar?
@@raulrico6102 sorry this hasn’t been answered yet ,but given that all it is is an amplifier that uses the standard quarter inch impits, I would assume yes. Also the app works by applying in simple terms “filters” to the sound, so that would work as well.
I was one of the early birds with the 40. Still going strong. Use the heck out of it for practice and band practice.

Today was 1st deep dive into Mini. Delivered yesterday. Portability and battery power were biggest selling points for me. Add excellent sound editing even better. One big ask, if it had looper capability. The jam is nice feature but the ability to jam over one’s own canvas would bring this to legacy status. Future firmware update?

@@positivegrid I know 0.0 people looking for a smaller Spark, but I am part of groups were people are looking for a larger, better sounding Spark with greater control of the effects and the ability to include a looper. People want a foot control that does more than just switch the four presets, such as turn on and off effects. People want the ability to send a line out to an external speaker or to a mixing counsel.
Hopefully the battery is customer replaceable or they’ll just be another disposable bluetooth speaker when the battery gets depleted. Smh

It is a concern, but that said it has a power adapter and we'll still be able to plug it in.
I already have a spark 40 which I love when the network is working and my location is on 🙄 so now we just need to find out the asking price to see if it's worth it to buy a portable battery backup or buy This thing.
Also keeping your mind that when the phone battery runs out, so does the communication to the device..
Take it to Batteries Plus, if it goes bad they'll definitely replace the battery. I have both the 40 and the Mini which came yesterday. So far the Mini is pretty cool, I pulled up UA-cam music and was able to play along with the songs being aired. I like that you can walk around the house or anywhere and be playing. It doesn't have the volume of the Spark 40 but so far seems good.

@@positivegrid i already contacted customer service hoping to get an estimated ship date. they told me it would be sometime in may. i'm going away on a trip in a week and was hoping the box wouldn't be sitting on my front steps while i'm away. i guess it's still may so i can't really complain that you didn't meet the delivery date you stated when i ordered. i don't normally do preorders but i was pretty sure that i would like the mini because i already use your technology. if you come out with something else that i like in the future i think i will just wait until i can actually get it though. it seems like you have had stuff to ship for a while because i have seen lots of youtube demos for months before i can get your stuff. lesson learned.

Please make a small shoulder carry case/bag for the MINI. Either a smaller version of the Spark 40 / Spark 2 bag or the leather case like the GO with a handle / detachable shoulder strap. More likely the former with a carry handle and detachable shoulder strap with front zip/velrow pouch for charge cable and Spark LINK. 👍🙏🏻
I want a Spark "Pro" with a cab out, midi controller ports, and other gig-friendly features.
It looks great. However, why no tone shape and gain knobs? It's very portable on one hand but also binds the user to use the app to connect to it even for adapting general gain and eq shape of a preset to various guitars.
I would suggest it's because there's not enough room on the Mini for that. Buy the Spark 40 if that's important to you, or just adjust everything in the app for the Mini. It's up to you.
I really loved using my Spark until it’s sound died last month :( I checked online and it seems like it is a very common issue. Incredible sound but extremely poor manufacturing. I hope this one is more reliable than the original one

@@MOTORCITYBIG1 you gotta be joking. Why would I lie? Go to user forum online. I spend past 3 weeks trying to understand what is going on with my amp and saw so many people having the same issue. To be more clear issue is “ no sound”. Go to forum and check how many topics there are with “no sound” coming up from the amp.

Wow! Literally every comment is someone complaining about something. What a bunch of whiners. If you don’t like it then don’t buy it.
You're right. We live in an age of wonders and all the internet seems to do is complain about it. The equipment available today at the budget/entry level is an embarrassment of riches. Many people just seem to be looking a reason to complain. Positive Grid, Sire, Harley-Benton and many other brands have entry level gear would have been considered mid to high end instruments when I purchased my first bass 20 years ago.
My first Bass was a Peavey Fury II and my latest bass is a Sire Marcus Miller V3 (2nd gen). They were a similar price when purchased new (the peavey would be more expensive if adjusted for inflation). They both have a similar feature set (4 string, active electronics). The Sire is a better bass in literally every way that I can think of and is within a beginner's price bracket. There are people who still find a way to complain about it on the interrnet.
In my experience, most musicians aren't held back by the limitations of their gear. They are held back by the limitations they impose on themselves in their minds.

Wanted a Spark 40 with a battery, or a looper, or both.
There are 3rd party apps and pedals that do this and you can uses a power bank with 12v output and Velcro it on the back. Lots of mods out there.
@@bradwilliams7748 The pedal solution doesn't work very well with this amp unfortunately since the amp was poorly designed. I've see the battery mod on the Facebook mod group. Sad that this company is so clueless that this is what they come out when everyone is asking for something else (at least it has a line out, which the 40 doesn't have for some inexplicable reason)
If you want a looper, just use a real pedal, that’s what I do with my spark
Bass boosted? The only issue with the OG Spark is everything has too much bass to begin with.
With its size/form factor, the bass boost really helps with MINI. About Spark 40's bass - totally get that - have you tried using the EQ pedal? It works wonders to eq out some of the bass if that's what you're after👍

The concept of the Spark is great, the sound of the first iteration was just not acceptable. It had good resale value though 👍
I'd pay double for a Spark 40 with the sound and feel of the THR10II.
@@ssm445 were talking about a under 300 dollar amp with a couple 4 in speakers designed at being a a small workstation amp with great software or a beginners guitar amp and imo it sounds far better than the katana air at a lower price
@@deltasemple383 Other companies show that it's possible to get a great sound out of even small speaker packages, so I don't get your point. A bad cab ruins the greatest concept, regardless of price. I mean, it's not even good enough as a Bluetooth speaker...
As I said, good concept. Now watch Yamaha put out great sounding hardware for the same money in a less bulky package. Why I said: I'd pay double if the concept of the Spark would be put in a reasonable sounding package.
Have the Spark 40 and its incredible, about this mini, how does fair as a Bluetooth speaker for music in terms of volume, eq etc compared to a dedicated bt speaker of similar size? Either way I want it :)

Im sure itll handle fine i use a katana mini and it sounds fine at hogh volume if nothing else when at home run it out through some speakers via headphone jack

Tried to order it (but seems like Norway is not a "ship-able" country :) (AND.. I tried the same with the original spark when that launched. No luck there either. Common PG! How difficult can that be to fix? I've never had this problem from any other guitar-gear company, but you!) That is annoying A.F. as long as you e-mail me great deals all the time and every time I try to order I'm dissapointed not being able buy the darn thing!! 🤪 ✌

While you are busy selling this product you should tell your viewers that PG cannot deliver them. I placed an order first of April with a promised delivery of May some time. Got a message from PG now telling me my order may be some time in late August or Sept. In the mean time I checked my credit card and they are still charging people's cards with no definite delivery date which is very bad business. They have been turned in to the BBB several times for this and they are still doing it. It is called stealing.
I requested to cancel my order and never heard back from them. I had to cancel my credit card payment to them to stop the stealing. I had the same experience with my Spark amp that I finally did get after months of payment to them. Had to send it back for repairs soon after but it is working ok now. It appears PG is using other people's money to finance their operations. Pretty slick but very underhanded.

Great! Positive Grid does it again! Influencers all have them but if you preorder you are already getting emails predicting 2 month delays! Say you ordered it and the ship date was supposed to be June - now you’re waiting until August!
… it’s like they learned nothing from the giant ball-drop that the original Spark release was. A real shame, because the product was great. I’ll be canceling my preorder.. so somebody will move up a notch. I wonder why they put so much effort into advertising when they can’t even satisfy the existing die-hard fans. If you are thinking about buying one of these- my suggestion is to save your money and wait until they fulfill the preorders(literally, they charge you upfront - not when they ship) and watch for the constant sales that will be emailed to you daily if you’re on their email list.
How come Spark 40 only has 30 amps and 40effects while this new Mini will have 33amps and 43 effects? What models will we miss by only owning Spark 40?

I had a problem receiving Spark Pearl when I ordered it on last October but after so many emails back and forth for period of 3 months or so with the support center, I decided to change the order to normal Spark and received amp 3days later. You should keep pushing!

They have no problem sending u advertisement emails but wont reply to issues with your product for weeks.... leaving you on your own.... I should have just got a Yamaha thr or something else.

I got an email from Spark and clicked on it and it showed a couple prices $179 and $189. I believe the $189 cones with a red cloth grill. I have the Spark 40 Pearl and I paid $289, so I think for the extra $100, it's just better to get the Spark 40 instead of the mini

So - you're not probably going to believe this, but you know First Act? The company that makes cheap entry-level junk guitars? Well for a while, they actually had a custom shop, making custom guitars that put Gibson/PRS/Fender custom shop guitars to shame, allegedly. The one in the video looks like a solid-body variant of what was their "Delia" model. Sadly, I think the First Act Custom Shop is closed down now. Super weird little blip of a high-end guitar luthiery exercise by a company that otherwise makes garbage.

Is it only compatible with smart guitars?
You can use any guitar, as long as it has a 1/4" input! It also works for electric guitar, acoustic, or bass.
I can’t lie, my spark mini is terrible. It sounds so muddy, can’t play anything hard at all. The gate pedal just cuts things off too quick. Checked online incase it needs a software update and the only thing I can find says this update is only for the spark 40. I’ve emailed positive grid about it, I hope mines just a faulty one and can be fixed or swapped but if I’m honest right now I feel like I’ve just been robbed. Way too much bass too I’ve tried using a UA-cam video to use a big blue pedal to tone the bass down and it helps a bit but still so muddy, and for 219 pound when it first came out I think I spent, it’s a joke really. Gutted 😞
Software is buggy, can't update the firmware. Spark is great when it works... 🙄

So, to any other fragile dimwits that get triggered by the depiction of women using this amp:
I guess in your mind women don't play guitar? How the hell do you see a woman with a guitar amp and come to the conclusion that it's some kind of agenda, and not just a reasonable demonstration of the value proposition to an end-user that wants something portable? Maybe the Spark team is actually pretty smart in coming to the conclusion that the huge number of women who play guitar are a likely a big part of the market for this product, eh?

Well said. Industry studies have shown women make up half the market the past few years or so, and in many ways, saving the bacon of a lot of companies as they had new customers to please. There are so many talented women players right now that anyone who thinks this is some “agenda” other than selling to your customer base is just ignorant. Raising a girl guitarist in my household and she’s rapidly improving who will also join that market in a few years.

Can you run Bias through a laptop into this?
You could use it as a Bluetooth speaker for your laptop, but the BIAS platform does not operate with Spark MINI. Spark MINI uses the free accompanying Spark app. Hope this helps!

@@Virtual-Media If they are BIAS presets, you won't be able to upload them to the Spark ToneCloud, if that's what you mean. The BIAS and Spark platforms don't "talk" to each other in that way. Hope this helps you! thanks.

@@Virtual-Media No, unfortunately you can't use BIAS presents on Spark MINI. Fortunately there are a tone of great sounds you can dial in with MINI. It's a different platform, but still tons of fun... and portable!

Were you guys afraid to let us hear what the amp sounded like? All that background music sort of makes me wonder of it is a bad as teh original spark is? I have one of the first gens Sparks and am not very happy with it, so many issues.....took so long to get. Oh I know, it was because of COVID, right? You build them in China and not in teh US, sell them for over $250, and then they go on backorder? The nerve of some manufacturers.

@@positivegrid Hold on. The music through the regular Sparc Amp 40 has WAY too much bass. Everyone knows that. People take the grids off, buy new speakers. We put up with it because the guitar doesn't sound fizzy like a lot of amps. You added an EQ for the guitar, but did you fix the excessive bass in the MINI?
@Rich 33 No, I'm talking about music you play through it. They need an EQ on that. It's way to bass-y. The guitar is fine - especially since they added the EQ for the guitar.

Went to buy one yest. Got the pre-order email...These guys are fucking nuts!
$202 shipped for a pearl model ($5 more) includes "free". Xtra red grill plate.... ( Normally $50!)
I paid 225 for the spark 2mo after it was released and I waited 4mo for it. Paid $260 for another one with the bag 8 mo later.
Their pre order pricing on this thing rite now is whack AF and it's still 3 months out.
Don't GAF how decent it sounds ...at 80% of the price of the spark, it is a giant RIPOFF
