I think Krystal is going to represent a turning point in the franchise. She's the first winner to completely grow up on Drag Race. She totally knew how to pander to Ru and her desires with both challenges and runway. You could clearly see her influences, especially in the runway. I think she's a very deserving winner, dont get me wrong, she's incredibly talented and polished and is absolutely winner material. However, I think we're starting a new era now. Unlike Sasha Belle, Krystal really did crack the code of Drag Race.
100% agree. But it's unfortunate that that came on Drag Race UK, in my opinion. Drag Race UK sells itself as celebrating UK drag. What UK3 essentially, unintentionally, set out to prove for ten episodes, is that it doesn't actually. The criteria to win was to be the most pageant girl who would give the most pageant answers and performance of the kind of style of drag that RuPaul personally finds the most entertaining. That's totally valid and Krystal excelled at that. But that's not really what UK drag is about whatsoever.
I know Bob and Aquaria started drag because of Drag Race, but it never felt as blatant to me. With Bob you could see her influences from comedy queens like Jinkx and Bianca and with Aquaria you could see the Violet inspiration, but it still felt like they both had a set identity that was crafted without the show necessarily in mind. With Krystal, at least to me, it felt like she was distinctly playing into the Drag Race realm. To the point where during the Draglexa challenge she explicitly said that they shouldn't go with Charity's ideas because they're not the show's type of humor. Also, I think because Krystal is *so* young she doesn't have the experience to truly hone in on her identity yet. Aquaria had 2 years on Krystal by the time she was on the show, plus not as many seasons had aired by that point. I could be totally wrong, but at least to me Krystal felt like the true representation of this new age of Drag Race fans.
I think krystals strengths being so rupaul centred is the main reason she won, that "you were born to be a drag queen" reads more like "you were born to spread the gospel of me"
Unpopular opinion: Kystral deserved her win, it was productions fault that it didn’t feel satisfactory for most fans as they should have given her a win later in the season instead of two straight up then nothing, which made it feel like she started strong and then went to shit even though she didn’t. Especially when the other two finalists got their wins at the end so it felt like they started weak and got stronger. Also charity case isn’t as unique, some of y’all just refuse to support alt drag queens unless they get on drag race.

Though I can understand why she didn’t win the fugly ball, cause honestly I think any of those girls could have won as they all did really well in at least 1 category, it would make NARRATIVE sense for Krystal to have won. Cause her track record was win win high, the safe/low for most of the season, then bottom 2. That makes it seem like she gave up on the competition or it got the better of her, when in reality she just had bad luck with the challenge orders.

My opinion on Krystal is that the same as Scarlett, she was unpopular during the season because she got passes. The British public - like the US, probably - tend to have a strong sense of fair play. We know Krystal can lipsync. So why didn't she, during the season, when she did poorly? She was probably the second best in the cast after Vanity. As for Scarlett, she got spared after completely messing up in the challenge multiple times, while Veronica was kicked out as soon as she put one foot wrong after they let her return. That was just uncomfortable.
i never saw any instance where krystal was saved except the marketing challenge and maybe snatch game except she had an amazing runway and vanity and river did worse. plus the marketing challenge couldve had others in the bottom too.

Safe in the top 4 challenge with the lipsync for the win. And yes, Snatch Game where we suspiciously didn't see her at all and then the runway repeated a silhouette. Fair enough to give her a pass for one or two of those, but all of them is just boring.

It creates a weird situation for a queen when RuPaul suggests an alternate performance for snatch game. If they aren’t funny performing RuPaul’s suggestion, then who is ultimately responsible? Therefore, it makes sense that this episode was productions way of trying to assert miss Paul’s authority and prestige over the girls, suggesting that listening to her is the better option regardless of whether it’s ultimately funny to viewers

Her first win should've gone to Victoria and her second was Veronica's. Kitty & Ella outshone, but Krystal is still very young and will definitely grow into her charisma & talent and deserves to be celebrated for the star she is even if we think others deserved the win over her.
Here's mine: Veronica and Vanity should've been the double save over Scarlett and Charity. Did Vanity win the lip-sync? On a technical level, yea, and she's doubtlessly the lip-sync assassin of the season. But with Veronica, there would've been a few reasons to keep her around. They literally brought her back after her virus diagnosis last season, so it was weird to lose her that early. The other challenges left were ones she could've done well in (Girl Groups especially. She did say who her Snatch Game character would be this time, which was Kate Bush. But as we saw in Season 2, she's not the best with improv, so who knows how she would've done). Also, they set up more storylines for her, especially her rivalry with Ella as the two musical theatre DA's of the season. So losing Veronica that early meant that storyline went nowhere. And really, as she herself mentioned, Veronica was the only DA on Season 2 who didn't get to lip-sync, and she talked about how good of a lip-syncer she is. And when she had to prove how good she was, I say she delivered, and probably could've won if she was against anyone other than Vanity. That's my take anyway.
Scarlett 100% lost that lipsync to Charity. Again like for a ton of time she's focused on this weird wiping your sweat with the handkerchief off gag which fell completely flat, and she focused on Charity for way too long.
Yes but i think it was going to be a double shantay anyway unless scarlett straight up didnt lipsync, cause up until that point scarlett was the only track record competitor against krystal and the producers had no clue where to take the storyline without victoria

The storyline I got from this season was one of "focusing on winning not being the best". The show spent so much time on the plot of Ella vs Kitty trying to win the more badges that they left Krystal behind which eventually bite them when Krystal slayed the last challenge and won (not saying the last challenge truly matter but in terms of storyline it fits). It’s also fitting the fact they (Ella and Kitty) forgot that Krystal also had 2 wins and was high a lot and that’s it. They aren’t less important just cuz she won them at the beginning. Although not the best season, I do think it got really good in the end. The story of "so much happening that we forget Krystal" was very nice. Only issue is why complain about her so much???? Maybe to try and make her even more unlikely to win in the fans eyes?
i feel like Krystal won bc they created this narrative of ella vs kitty, where they were so focused on getting more badges than the other that they ignored Krystal and that led to her winning, just like that Tortoise and the Hare story idk
I think Ella was a bit too much like Vivienne (constant professional, a little dry) and Kitty was a bit too much like Lawrence (relying on personality/humor, a very dominant person) and Krystal just brought something new and interesting :)

Krystal deserved more praise for her later outfits even if some of them are the same shape it was consistently good. I feel like the judges was critiquing her more negatively so that it would seem there is a closer competition rather than just a front runner. Not saying that the other queens weren't competition.

I absolutely think that Krystal deserved her win :) I think an important part of them deciding on choosing the winner is who they think will represent the show the best, and I think Krystal had the best speech in the end and I personally think that she is the most inspiring as well. There's also no denying her talent, and she is quite funny
To me the final lipsyncs decided it. imo You don't own me is a song that you DON'T fuck up, is the perfect song to show emotion being vulnerability and power at the same time. Ella looked lost and out of energy while Kitty was just not giving it. Krystal killed the lipsync and we hadn't really had a "performing" queen winning yet.
On the back of ‘people hating Krystal’ - it’s not that, I think it’s because everyone was rooting for Kitty and Ella A LOT more due to audience reception and the hashtags used. Drag race twitter’s post of #TeamKrystal had the least reception (and on Instagram) whereas Ella took like 65%+ of all reception. So yeah, it’s that. But being biased - I don’t like Krystal. Don’t hate her, she’s just not for me as I don’t find her funny or have a personality. There’s more to a drag queen than being skinny with long hair - my type of Drag Queen is Kitty, or Bimini, or Divina for example

I don’t know if this is an unpopular opinion but I think that not giving this show a cash prize is RuPaul’s being cheap even though he’s rich. It makes no sense how does he expect for people to come with beautiful garments and wigs and everything that costs money if after they win the show they get basically nothing.
It’s not that she doesn’t have a personality, she’s a very stereotypical libra, she’s just careful how she comes across as to make sure her image is good. So she may seem confident but really she’s second guessing herself the whole show n trying not to look stupid
Season 6 is so overrated and I don't know why everyone is so hyped up about it, season 3 and especially season 5 are the best regular season along with season 12.

I absolutely think that Krystal deserved her win :) I think an important part of them deciding on choosing the winner is who they think will represent the show the best, and I think Krystal had the best speech in the end and I personally think that she is the most inspiring as well. There's also no denying her talent, and she is quite funny

On the back of ‘people hating Krystal’ - it’s not that, I think it’s because everyone was rooting for Kitty and Ella A LOT more due to audience reception and the hashtags used. Drag race twitter’s post of #TeamKrystal had the least reception (and on Instagram) whereas Ella took like 65%+ of all reception. So yeah, it’s that.
But being biased - I don’t like Krystal. Don’t hate her, she’s just not for me as I don’t find her funny or have a personality. There’s more to a drag queen than being skinny with long hair - my type of Drag Queen is Kitty, or Bimini, or Divina for example

people need to get over the fat joke, it was just that: a joke. it wasnt funny so it didnt work. also i have heard that she was racist when she was like 13 a lot but ive never seen any proof or testimonies from actual queens. either way, people are a product of their society, but what defines a character is how they grow and learn from the bias that was taught to them. ive only heard great things about krystal from queens so i think shes changed

I don’t know if this is an unpopular opinion but I think that not giving this show a cash prize is RuPaul’s being cheap even though he’s rich. It makes no sense how does he expect for people to come with beautiful garments and wigs and everything that costs money if after they win the show they get basically nothing.

Season 6 is so overrated and I don't know why everyone is so hyped up about it, season 3 and especially season 5 are the best regular season along with season 12.
