She didn't deserve her first two wins and should have been in the bottom weeks 4 and 5 because her verse was bad and she did an ever so slightly improved version of her look when the brief was inspired by a spice girls look. Week 5 was obvious riggery because she was the team leader, was meh in the challenge and had the worst look and she wasn't even low either week!
I feel like they only have her a weird edit on episode 3 because they messed up giving her the win on episode 2 and they couldn’t give her 3 wins in a row. Because objectively she didn’t do good in episode 2. But to call her design look predictable when the winner just had a gown on? A gown silhouette that we’ve seen in literally every design challenge ever? The biggest takeaway for me from UK3 was how mean-spirited it seemed. Vanity, Choriza and River Medway were shining lights and none of them were given even a hint of props or praise by the panel, just patronising 'I didn't expect you'd be any good at this' style comments. Ru didn't seem like she enjoyed the season. As for Krystal, yes, she did the best in the final, but it was only favouritism that got her there in the first place. Would anyone have been happy with Baga or Ellie winning?
At first they wanted to push her as much as they could fairly do, then they backed down to make it less obvious, for a few episodes they probably forgot they wanted her to win, and suddenly they were like "Shit, we wanted Krystal to win"
Personally, I don't think the edit was the problem. Krystal grew up with the show, she knows the ins and outs of the show. That being said, I think Krystal knew when the producers were up to something and she knew how to get around it so she wouldn't look bad in the end. Plus, the whole storyline with Victoria was pretty much over with because of Victoria getting hurt... So, besides Krystal getting the "Young Queen" edit, there wasn't much left for the producers to work with other than her doing well on the show.
I very much got the impression that she approached it the way Alaska approached AS2 and didn't realise she'd be favoured while filming, so didn't give them much to work with in case they tried to villainise her.
I thought it was weird during snatch game that Krystal was critiqued for her runway. Like i thought they were going to say her runway saved her. But to say they didn’t like the runway on top of her bad performance didn’t make any sense why she was safe.
Personally I think Ella was meant to win and Krystal may have meant to be an antagonist, but when Ella fucked up the finale they had to choose between her and Kitty and chose her. Mainly I believe this because I’m sure if they had really thought of her as a winner they would have given her a late season win, as if you look at her actual track record without context you’d probably think her storyline was her starting out strong then losing her mojo or something as she doesn’t place above safe after episode 3 and, besides the finale, ends the season with a bottom 2 placement. Which then makes fans think she didn’t deserve to win because they’ve forgotten how great she is due to her bad placements at the end of the season when they should’ve given her a win in the fugly ball (even tho I personally don’t think she served fugly exactly, I wouldn’t of cared cause she looked great)
I honestly thought they were setting Krystal up for a future all stars season with the whole "she's talented but she's still young and needs to develop more" kinda thing.
Such a succinct video, legit pointed out some stuff I didn't notice yet. Krystal's edit kinda gave me what Kendall on CDR2 has been. They keep telling her she's so great as they put her in the bottom each time but save her. Don't know if you are watching Canada's ir not but highly recommend it too
RuPaul fell in love with Krystal, period BUT to me she won the first episode fair and square, and the lipsync, she showed her fashion but that she also could perform. She also won the design challenge by far and she also won the ball. But she did not win Dragoton, they really fucked that up. If Kitty won episode 2 we wouldn't have the stupid storyline of her "struggling" to get a win until the ball. For her, because she was so polished in her runway, it applied that runway DID matter to save her from bottom 2 but not the bottom queens. And then she won her only bottom 2 and she SHINES in that final episode, like it was HER episode.
I think the original storyline for Krystal was to be the Villain to Victoria but when Victoria got injured the season scrambled to make a new storyline for her
Excited for a video with first impressions of the RPDR Season 14. Only by watching meeting the queens I can tell the production favourite is Bosco and Angeria and they are going to thrive to the finale. With time we all can identify a pattern on what they are looking for.
Sort of off topic here, but a genuine question nonetheless: In Canada, we watch DRUK on a streaming service called Crave. I watch with subtitles, and the subtitles presented actually wrote out the winner as Ella Vaday, with her winning line afterward (something along the lines of being one Ella Vawinner)....I'm just curious if you or anyone thinks this was just an honest mistake or if maybe the winner was switched soon before the airing of the finale?
Bussy Queen mentioned this in her end of UK3 video, where the consensus seemed that it was just a mistake. Would have loved to see Ella win though, met her at a show a couple weeks ago and she’s very genuine.
my favorite parts of the season were when they had comedy challenges, Krystal did okay, i guess, and then the judges praised her to no end for pulling off some funny faces because they didn't expect her do be able to do the bare minimum 🤩 even though she never gave them reason to doubt she would or could, but apparently they didn't expect her to be able to do anything other than look pretty 🤩 felt so earned and fair every time, great job, roopaw
It very much came off that they cast a lot of stereotypes and expected them to behave as the stereotype, not as real people. Hence the surprise at River playing white characters for Snatch Game and Choriza being funny in English as opposed to having to rely on a 'funny foreigner with broken English' role, that Ru obviously expected.
They wanted a Victoria VS Krystal storyline since the beginning, imo. With Victoria overcoming Krystal in the end. But since Victoria left, the production was left with an unplanned storyline. They had to scramble a story and move forward. For that they needed to create new front runners, therefore critiquing Krystal and give attention to others, like Scarlett. By the end they had two good front runners, with one having 4 wins but making Krystal look the weakest in everyone's eyes. I believe the plan was to crown Krystal either way but they just poorly planned their way into her win.
In my opinion... Ella dropped the ball hard on the final episode, she looked a mess, she didnt know her lyrics... Kitty was just 'there'... Realistically Krystal wrote a good catchy verse & did what she needed to do in the lipsync. I thought Ella may win, until she literally looked miserable the entire last episode.
Sad you didnt mention how great krystal did in the finale which makes you question if krystal had more "persoanlity" throughout the competition they just edited out
I think people also forget that it’s Rupaul’s Next Drag Superstar… You really expect me to believe anyone other than Krystal is the next superstar? She does the type of drag Ru likes and slayed the finale, so obviously she was going to win.
That part. All the fans forgetting that in the end it’s *RuPaul’s* drag race. By design, the competition is set up for bias and not neutrality. And that’s fine because it’s hard to judge all drag by one standard.
I totally agree with this. She truly is a Drag Race child and that’s the reason she won. She can turn a look, okay…but can’t do the other things that Ella or Kitty can do that represent British drag entirely. It’s fact that DRUK is now DRUSA and that saddens me. Krystal is a great drag queen and will do well but she just did not deserve the crown based on what she presented and the edit hiding her. Despite Ru saying she was ‘born to do drag’. Oh well, it’s RUPAUL’S drag race anyway
Exactly...I can get the Vivienne winning or Laurence Chaney cause they represent the UK drag so well even if Divina and Bimini were the obvious winners if track records really matter. This season, Ella was the best all season (except during that final lipsync) so I knew she wasn't gonna win cause there's a pattern but I exepected Kitty not krystal...Krystal is just a pure Drag Race US product, not UK
But don’t forget: Vivienne was known by rupaul years prior, Lawrence was his fave from the start, and so was Krystal. We all know rupaul picks his favourites in the show and that in itself is not fair, as Krystal got free passes and so did Vivienne and Lawrence. But it’s a reality show and his own show so he can do what he likes. Just a shame that the most ‘talented’ and/or ‘most liked’ never win in UK (so far)
I still hate the crap she got for her pun to Victoria being the “biggest” competition. There’s fat jokes and skinny jokes every season and that wasn’t even distasteful in the slightest.
It's like they don't trust their chosen frontrunners/winners anymore to do well. After that Valentina fiasco, producers are really afraid to put their frontrunners on the bottom except when there can be an obvious cop out (KandyvsSymone) or when they are obviously sending the other person home (SymonevsUtica). Why give Krystal an undeserved win and not wait until the next fashion challenge for her to do good? Most of Violet's wins were on fashion based challenges! How epic of a redemption arc would have been from Krystal being on the B2 of SG (most likely would have beaten River since she's a great lip syncer) to winning the ball?
Wouldn’t a better storyline have been like a she is amazingly talented and born to do drag or whatever but because kitty and Ella did better in the competition maybe a but she still has so much more maturing to do and hat she isn’t quite there yet but has the potential and then crown Ella. And then she probably comes back a few years later having matured and would like murder an all stars season.
It's because she served every runway and showed that she was a performer from episode 1, not just looks. She knows what her drag persona was. Plus she never was the worst. The other 2 runner-up lacked that polish aspect but did well in comedy, they need that glow up that an All Stars season expect. Plus, Ella really did bad in the last episode. And Kitty went over in that lipsync. They just helped Krystal even more lol
Speaking on top rpdr vids, when this legendary colab is happening? We didnt had the channel best friend ariel versace colab but we can still have top rpdr vids colab right!
Krystal should have won the first 3 challenges, and possibly the 4th! I thought Kitty should have won, but realized she was too similar to Lawrence to win…..
The audition tapes queens send in allow producers to choose a winner ahead of time, craft challenges and runways that will highlight them at their best and decide on a villain.
Pleaaassseee could you do a Canada's drag race season 2 apreciation video. I want to do it but nobody would listen. It was: - a good season following a not so good (c1) the opposite of uk - a panel of judges going from mediocre to quite impresive - a week by week STUNNING hoste like- no words - a REUNION - a twist that worked and made sense and didn't take too much space (lypsing) - no obvious pushing or mistreating - no unnecessary drama, just enough. The only bad thing i have to say for this season is snatch game, i just can't seem to remember anything iconic or funny except synthia. I haven't watched the finale but either icesis or pythia are morethanvalid winners (and i don't think they will crown kendall). This season is going to mi top tier seasons of drag race for sure
Giving this video a thumbs up for your comments about personality and that saying someone doesn't have a personality just because they are not loud and screeching all the time, is so correct. I'm so tired of hearing that and it's incredibly rude.
Krystal deserved to win this season but the way she was edited makes the win feel less authentic. Like if they'd just let her win the 1st ep and the ball without all the uncomfortable praising... just imagine
Honestly she could have lipsynced episode 5, 6 and 8 and I wouldn't have bat an eye. She fully got the worst critiques in 5 and 6 but instead gets "You were born for drag"..
Ya’ll wanna act like u.’s point about RuPaul pushing Krystal because she wants to act like she made her isnt real, yet in the exact same season RuPaul punished those that didnt listen to exactly what she wanted, and forced Scarlett to top 5 because she was doing what Ru wanted, not because she was doing well.
I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again, but I always feel like producers know who their top contenders are before day one of filming. I don’t think Anubis, Charity Kase, Scarlett, or River ever really could have won the crown. They’re fabulous queens, it’s just in the way that they were presented. By the time we got to final 5, the winner was clearly Krystal. (And, like always, I can clock the winner on Episode 1). Ella and Kitty Were both amazing, but from day one, Krystal was pinned because her “child of drag race” story is just too enticing. Victoria Scone and Veronica Green also had potentially winning storylines as “first Female-Queen” and “Survived COVID”.
u studied too much . Set up or not , Krystal is the best this season..make up...runway looks...also she slays in lipsyncs (she is a lipsync assasin). So she deserved 100% the crown.
My theory is that they didnt wanted krystal to win, but when ella fucked the lipsync up she couldnt get the crown (in the shows eyes, *not mine,* this is stupid). As we know, the producers crown different typos of queens each season (the UK especially since they get a show) so kitty *never stood a chance* since she is basically lawrence but tamer, so krytal it was. Another thing that i noted is that UK is trying to emulate the UK1 finalist(s?): Lawrence is baga, of course, and ella fits divina role as a glove: professional, campy, not the most fashionable and underdogs to some extend (and so does victoria. I wonder why) so that only fuels me more. Krystal would be vivienne (and victoria roles was the divina. Oh i wonder why). There is UK2 too (ha) but i dont want to streach this longer than i have Foot note: Murdoch is still the best last name ever. Fight me
Honestly Krystal should have won based on the finale, she slayed, she conquered, she won, if she should have been in the finale in the first place without riggory, idk 😭🖐🏻
And that’s why saying “she won the finale” doesn’t really work as a justification when she got spared on things like snatch game and being one-note when Charity was sent home for less.
She deffinerly would've. She could've won Who do you think you are against Scarlet and then probably get to the finale with 3 wins and 2 bottoms, Kitty with 2 wins and Ella with 3 with Krystal still winning because producers obiously didn't want Kitty to win and Ella flunked the finale.
I was waiting for you to talk about Victoria sconeeee, I feel like she would’ve been a front runner and her having to leave might have affected the outcome, similar to what happened with Ben&manila
Even considering the way they rigged the season I just don’t get why she didn’t win the fugly ball ..they were clearly impressed and if they truly wanted the versatility they accuse other girls of lacking then they would have given it to her?? And it would have helped save Krystal from the “losing steam” sensation with a later season win and her season win would be a lot more justified in terms of statistical performance
I think it's because it clashed with Kitty having no badges even tho she was good in comedy, so that storyline was pending too much into the season already. They were dumb because Ella/Kitty/Krystal did dominate the season, and if they would have given the Dragoton win to Kitty, we could have the third win in the ball for Krystal, especially for the TWO challenges she easily won as polished as they told us she is, the design and the ball.
I honestly think they would have given it to either Ella or Kitty had they done a little better in the final lipsync. Kitty's reveal was too soon and didn't do her any favors. She also gave the song too much energy... Ella had a very bad dress, almost no make-up, and didn't move most of the time. So I think the show kind of didn't have a choice but to crown Krystal. That's why I don't buy the idea that she was their winner all along. Maybe just an intended top 3 contestant, but not necessarily the planned winner from day 1...
Uckee your videos are good and thoughtful, but you have GOT to stop leaning into the negativity of the comments. It’s distracting and unrelated to the topic.
As they are pushed doesnt mean they didnt deserved any of their high spots krystal did pretty good she was pushed but she did fine like gottmek she was pushed a lot for being dr first trans contestant but if you rewatch the season she could have won a lot of the challenges Idk if my point was shown lol
I must be alone on this, but I like DRUK S3 quite more than S1 and S2. I feel this cast is more human, approachable and likeable overall (except for Tia, she was gold).
If I have to hear one more person mention that Krystal is nineteen (now twenty) as a compliment, I’m gonna lose my mind. At this point people saying sounds condescending.
Here's my theory. The producers remembered the flack they got for crowning Lawrence over Bimini in UK2. So, they overcorrected and ending up screwing over the other queens in the process.
It seems that UK queens are being judge with the same standarts even being a foreign country and Krystal winning it is the anti H&M message to UK girls to what is expected from them. To me, Krystal winning Drag Race UK is a way to send the message that her is the type of queen that they wanted in the show in future season, and not H&M queen or any queen that has features that are more representative of a non pre determined drag scene, even that the show is being filmed in a foreign country. Several moments in the 3 UK seasons I had this feeling that they are teaching the drag race aspirants how a drag queen has to be - through what is praise and what is condemned in the show and that's why, I guess, that we have so much H&M moments and shock value on the show. UK didnt had 10 seasons prior to showcase the same investment that US girls had when they go to the show and it is expected from them or even a comparable 'drag economy' built around them to cover the investiment made or even to do partnerships with fashion designers or whatever is needed (I imagined). Everything seems a way to shape and to force the same formula from US to UK seasons.
the ball and the design were her episodes, and she didn't win any. The first episode too, based on looks, is what she does really well. The dragoton? A stretch.
Maybe just my opinion, but UK3 got me season 12 vibes . The elimination of both Veronica and Victoria messed up the story of the season , so all the eggs pretty much got into Krystal's bascket ( the best queen by episode 3 when V s were gone )
I would go to an Ella or Kitty stand up/comedy show...and I think Ella can write really good verses. But I will never go to a Krystal show, she will do splits and whip her hair and that's it. I really don't know what she can offer as drag superstar.
Every season since after S9 has had a produced winner. Most people feel like she shouldn't have won second and are even more annoyed cause we all know she won the 3rd challenge and we realized the show realized they fucked up cause it was way to obvious. But she really should have be WinHighWin and then won the fugly challenge.

@@hannahpilcher9099 THank you for shedding some light! Also, completely jealous that you got to meet Ella!!
Yeah they usually film all 3 queens winning then make the decision so neither the queens nor the viewers know who’s winning
Im so obsessed with your "OoOoOh mY GgGoOoDdDd'
my favorite parts of the season were when they had comedy challenges, Krystal did okay, i guess, and then the judges praised her to no end for pulling off some funny faces because they didn't expect her do be able to do the bare minimum 🤩 even though she never gave them reason to doubt she would or could, but apparently they didn't expect her to be able to do anything other than look pretty 🤩 felt so earned and fair every time, great job, roopaw
The Glovo thing
I had to stop UA-cam to make sure it wasn't an ad 🤣
They wanted a Victoria VS Krystal storyline since the beginning, imo. With Victoria overcoming Krystal in the end. But since Victoria left, the production was left with an unplanned storyline. They had to scramble a story and move forward. For that they needed to create new front runners, therefore critiquing Krystal and give attention to others, like Scarlett. By the end they had two good front runners, with one having 4 wins but making Krystal look the weakest in everyone's eyes. I believe the plan was to crown Krystal either way but they just poorly planned their way into her win.
I loved this analysis, thank you U.
Even if it was a setup, she killed every episode.
that donesi je sada glovo part was somerthing that i did not know i needed
She needs her own dressing room she won the show

I disagree with one thing, knowing the character she was playing, she actually did quite well on the snatch game
it was alright. And that's good.
I watch a lot of drag race content. I think you make the best. Thanks for sharing your hard work!
I'll never get over Ru's fake laugh throughout Krystal's comedy set. I hear it every time I'm about to sleep, thus I never end up passing out hahaha.
I am under twenty as well so I actually found myself rooting for Krystal because I related to her the most throughout the season
Exactly it’s rupaul’s competition. Plus if bimini didnt win ella wasn’t going to
But don’t forget: Vivienne was known by rupaul years prior, Lawrence was his fave from the start, and so was Krystal.
@@keidozzz2445 I do think it wouldn’t have been an issue or at least as big of an issue if she wasn’t afab. It felt very that.
It's because she's a woman.
Idiotic, but truthful!
plus Krystal did apologise in the same episode. I saw it was meant as a joke but landed awfully. And now Victoria's entrance was "I'm fat"? Please.
Krystal’s drag IS amazing drag. Just like cooky drag is also good drag. All drag is valid. Hyper sexual drag is great drag.
The top three this season was cute it looked like 3 sisters Ella the eldest Kitty the middle and Krystal the youngest :)
Charity should’ve gone home episode 2.
"Please just go shower." I'm gonna start using that line. XD
“Please just go shower!” 😭😭💀💀
The audition tapes queens send in allow producers to choose a winner ahead of time, craft challenges and runways that will highlight them at their best and decide on a villain.
Pleaaassseee could you do a Canada's drag race season 2 apreciation video. I want to do it but nobody would listen. It was:
- a good season following a not so good (c1) the opposite of uk
- a panel of judges going from mediocre to quite impresive
- a week by week STUNNING hoste like- no words
- a REUNION
- a twist that worked and made sense and didn't take too much space (lypsing)
- no obvious pushing or mistreating
- no unnecessary drama, just enough.
I've spelled like the devil himself I'm sorry.
Giving this video a thumbs up for your comments about personality and that saying someone doesn't have a personality just because they are not loud and screeching all the time, is so correct. I'm so tired of hearing that and it's incredibly rude.
15 seconds in and I already went to like the video
edit: predictably I agree 100% with literally everything you said
Please shower whether or not you have bad opinions thanks ❤️
Krystal deserved to win this season but the way she was edited makes the win feel less authentic. Like if they'd just let her win the 1st ep and the ball without all the uncomfortable praising... just imagine
I actually think Krystal's drag is underrated.
Honestly she could have lipsynced episode 5, 6 and 8 and I wouldn't have bat an eye. She fully got the worst critiques in 5 and 6 but instead gets "You were born for drag"..
Ooh another u. video! Let's get sickening! 💕
Thank you for giving me something to watch while in Math 😩
THE DONESI JE SADA GLOVO JOKE CURED MY DEPRESSION!
There is UK2 too (ha) but i dont want to streach this longer than i have
Foot note: Murdoch is still the best last name ever. Fight me
I was so confused when Krystal won episode one wearing something akin to Kandy Muse’s green bodysuit alien lerk
@@phoenixrising7777 Do you really think krystal would'nt have beaten river in that lipsync?
*Incoming Charity stans crying*
She deffinerly would've. She could've won Who do you think you are against Scarlet and then probably get to the finale with 3 wins and 2 bottoms, Kitty with 2 wins and Ella with 3 with Krystal still winning because producers obiously didn't want Kitty to win and Ella flunked the finale.
@@boopyspoopy1468 sorry I care about fairness, shame you don’t.
I was waiting for you to talk about Victoria sconeeee, I feel like she would’ve been a front runner and her having to leave might have affected the outcome, similar to what happened with Ben&manila
I have a feeling Victoria Scone was meant to be top 3, but her injury changed everything 🤔🤔
of course
Congatulations Kristal you are beautiful 😉😍✌️🤗🙏❤️💪🥰😘😘😘
I honestly think they would have given it to either Ella or Kitty had they done a little better in the final lipsync.
Kitty's reveal was too soon and didn't do her any favors. She also gave the song too much energy...
Ella had a very bad dress, almost no make-up, and didn't move most of the time.
So I think the show kind of didn't have a choice but to crown Krystal.
That's why I don't buy the idea that she was their winner all along.
Maybe just an intended top 3 contestant, but not necessarily the planned winner from day 1...
I'm guessing the next video will be Mistreatment of Chariry?
i hope
Are we all gonna act like the narrator doesn’t sound like Choriza May? Choriza girl, you did amazing, you ain’t gotta drag your girl.
Uckee your videos are good and thoughtful, but you have GOT to stop leaning into the negativity of the comments. It’s distracting and unrelated to the topic.
As they are pushed doesnt mean they didnt deserved any of their high spots krystal did pretty good she was pushed but she did fine like gottmek she was pushed a lot for being dr first trans contestant but if you rewatch the season she could have won a lot of the challenges
Idk if my point was shown lol
I must be alone on this, but I like DRUK S3 quite more than S1 and S2. I feel this cast is more human, approachable and likeable overall (except for Tia, she was gold).
uk3 had the potential to be better than uk2 but they failed when victoria injured herself, veronica went home and they mistreated charity.
I like her
If I have to hear one more person mention that Krystal is nineteen (now twenty) as a compliment, I’m gonna lose my mind. At this point people saying sounds condescending.
that trice her age comment took me out
She had a confusing af storyline
RPDR is not a TV show. It is a religion. Just watch.
Krystal Stans: Omg she took a breath! And she’s 👏🏽 only 👏🏽 19 👏🏽. * faint*
u., you sound so much like the UA-camr "nobbel87". Your voices are pretty similar, and you also make very similar pauses when you talk :P
Donesi je sada Glovo
Krystal cracked the code
UK queens can travel to the states and make a lot more money than just doing their thing in the UK.
You can't really do H&M drag. Sorry!
Krystal deserved to win episodes that she didn’t win and didn’t deserve to win other times
the ball and the design were her episodes, and she didn't win any. The first episode too, based on looks, is what she does really well. The dragoton? A stretch.
My prediction was Ella was suppose to win but gave it to Krystal for some reason
Ella had an awful final episode.
Maybe just my opinion, but UK3 got me season 12 vibes . The elimination of both Veronica and Victoria messed up the story of the season , so all the eggs pretty much got into Krystal's bascket ( the best queen by episode 3 when V s were gone )
The weird part about her edit was when she won. Ella and Kitty were doing better and had more to offer as a total package.
So, Rupaul is the Anna Wintour of Drag?
my winner
