2024 Mazda 2 Facelift Review in Malaysia, How Much For This Again?! | WapCar

- The 2024 Mazda 2 facelift is upon us and after so many years on the market, it’s still great, right? Hear us out. It still looks dynamic enough and drives as good as anything else on the market today.
So, what’s the catch? Well, it’s a B-segment hatchback (there’s also a sedan if you prefer that) and even when judged against its peers, might be a little too claustrophobic for some. Then there’s also the not-so-small issue of its price tag which now stands at RM108k!
And lastly, there’s one more talking point that has gotten Adrian and Greg quite riled up about…

I am an owner of Mazda 2 2015 model to date, It's definitely the best driving car of the segment no doubt. But after almost 10 years it hasn't change much, interior looks basically the same, not to mention they remove the HUD! Yes this has GVC+ and cruise control and so on, but the improvement are way too minimal to justify the price. If you compare this to say a Proton S70, this Mazda 2 is just totally not worth it, not even close.
but its a mazda
@@KenTan96 That is true. That's why I'm still driving it now ❤️
I have a Mazda 2 2022/23, the last gen. Agree it hasnt changed much yet theyre increasing price.
Adrian says hi to a fellow owner. Yeap, it's essentially the same bones as the 2015 model
It’s a 10 year old platform face lifted 3 times .
Like how greg joined into the review from buyer point of view. Indeed, with such money CX-3 is the right choice, coz it makes u more atas than mazda 2.

Thank you for the kind words, Malcom
i think it looks great and it looks so timeless (but unfortunately i can't forgive it with two airbags in 2024 crazy well it's fine) 👏😄👌
My 2017 model has 4 airbags, why would they reduce it?
@@GSXone well this is malaysian variant it only gets two airbags here unfortunately no four airbags as a option
@@aimanfitri0iv Oh, ok. Even the higher spec versions?
@@GSXone well yes it is 👌
I am fine with the exterior look, although I still prefer the Soul Red Crystal colour. Feature wise, definitely lacking in the Advance Safety front, compared to City and Vios of the same price point, not to mention when adding S70 into the competition.
S70 is a garbage. 3 cylinder turbo is a grabage. and no adaptive power steering, AND USING TIMING BELT. seriously what the fudge.
Not gonna mention torsion beam helps with nvh unlike the mazda 3 vid?😂
In south Africa the starting price is R307 100.00 (RM 76,483 if I converted correctly). 3 models are offered starting from R335 000(RM83,447) you will get 6 airbags.
Our car import tax so high
Half hearted facelift but with an ambitious price increase 😂
Sigh, RM 📉
Got myself a pre-owned 2019 Peugeot 208 1.2 Puretech Turbo a couple years ago, best decision ever. Smoked those Hondas & Toyotas, even the Civics as well
A fun little hatch that 208! Drive safe on the road!
But I like that little red stuff on the grill.
no armrest?
Airbag & Airbag. Man of culture, we meet again 😅
In our country, Mazda 2 is packed with all the ADAS which the CX3 also has, quite unfair if you only get the skeletal M2, not worth it
Forget it .... 😅🙂😊
The 2 airbags is crazy. My Rm45k proton saga has the same.
I have the 2016 one, love it still. Great car but let down by outdated specs as a facelift, a lot of mis opportunities. Blame bermaz n our weak currency hehe
Not worth it in 2024. No point sugar coating it with this review.
how much
Doing a proton saga strategy with an old platform and facelift
But not at this pricepoint
used brz
thats 1 hard pill to swallow
Yeah, nah, you’re selling me the same car from 2015 at 110k? More expensive than the city hatchback and the WRV, going into X70 money and HRV is just 10k more? Yeah, that’s an L from Mazda, and I’m a Mazda fanboy.
u can always migrate to thailand. POOR fanboi
@@Chinyj1975 I’m in Australia I’m all good. We get the latest trims here, and the Mazda 3 in a 2.5 turbo 😊
CX-3 1.5L is under power , end up i go for Mazda 2
Just move on, this is expensive and bare bones
2 airbag. Rubbish . Meaning small call no need safety.
It was an over-priced sales failure in Msia vs its competitors.
This is probably a stock-clearance project by a new manager, via dressing it up a bit and repositioning it with a childish colour that will make it very difficult to re-sell in the future.
Look at the little display screen on the dashboard, and its too obvious that this is a highly outdated, over-priced car in 2024.
fcking just review the sedan. ffs.
