This is a recording of our factory tour at the Casita factory. I'll be adding more detailed videos on the varous components. This video provides a broad overview to prepare for your Casita tour and will also serve as a reference for those having just purchased a Casita. It was 105 with high humidity, so there were a lot of fans creating background noise that I attempted to edit out but left the audio being a little muffled sounding. Even though this was our third Casita, we did learn a few things. My next videos will use my new DJI

I just posted a video which shows the different colors and finishes close up. Just since we bought ours August 1st, I already see Casita has changed things up in a good way like the hitch upgrade, etc. We really love the TV. Big improvement although lots of places we can't really use it. The fridge is the only bad thing.

Congrats on your new SD Casita! Which models/floor plan/layout did y'all have prior to this one? Thoughts on the new grey wall material in comparison to the carpet?
We picked up our new '24 SD from the factory back in February and it appears there are already a few new changes since then, the bathroom cabinet door is different/improved and the towel bar is no longer on the main bathroom door to name a few. It also appears that they've improved upon their walk-through demo details as well, I assure you our demo was not this thorough lol.
They were just starting to roll out the grey bottom exterior and new wall material when we took delivery so we opted for the traditional all white exterior and the lighter colored wall material along with the grey cabinet doors. This is our first Casita and our first FGRV so it took a bit to get used to the carpeted walls but I've grown to like the lighter color for the sake of making the space feel bigger and for the added sound dampening that it provides. The new wall material is definitely more aesthetically pleasing in comparison.
Overall we are very happy with our trailer but we have found some flaws in the fiberglass exterior and we weren't pleased with the overall cleanliness (or lack thereof) of the trailer upon delivery. My only major disappointment with the trailer is with the windows, I would have much preferred a more modern tilt-out vinyl window that is already factory tinted. Oddly enough it appears that they are using them on the soon to be released new 15' model so maybe they will be compatible with the 17' model and can possibly be retrofit for those looking to upgrade their 17' trailer.

I was nervous about the grey, but I ended up loving it. I don't like the wood as much as the old wood finish. I wish the floors were a better fake wood grain, but it beats our off-white laminate that showed everything. We almost did an independence but I have two kids and plan on taking them together one of these days. I prefer the regular windows than the tilt out. I wish they had a blue bottom. Really dislike the new thermostat, prefer the new bathroom cabinet, etc.. just hate the new fridge as I can't have my wine bottles upward, I got to talk to one of the casita youtubers and she had an indepedence, said she got really mean comments from men saying she wasn't taking care of her husband. Delivery was sort of chaotic for us. they put in the wrong blinds and left kind of a mess, but we were in a hurry to leave. The thing that really gets me is that there's a hitch upgrade option now. We ended up paying A LOT more through Little Home on the Road. I think Katy's Closet is sort of overrated, but my boyfriend really wanted it and now he says my few hanging things hog the whole closet. Not true, you push it aside but I don't get it with those weird L-shaped shelves.

@@shastagypsy Yea we felt like they really dropped the ball on the demo/walk-through and the condition of trailer in terms of cleanliness was massively subpar and it was even more evident after we got it home and started our own deep clean. There were fiberglass bits, dust and rivet trimmings throughout. We found multiple flaws in the finish of the fiber glass on the exterior and a few nicks in the floor.
The fridge doesn't bother me much but we don't travel with many things that need to stay cold. The thermostat makes sense now that I've dug deeper on how it functions but at first we hated it as well. Never increase your temp by more than four (4) degrees with the furnace off or it'll continuously try to ignite the furnace in order to more rapidly heat up the space.
We prefer the newer style roll up blinds but they don't work that well in colder temps, they are very slow to retract below 50F degrees. Again, this is where I'd prefer the tilt-out style windows which incorporate a shade and screen within the frame. The windows in these trailers are a 40 year old design, awful.
We have the Katy's Closet as well and while I agree that it's over priced we do like it and it's an improvement over the bare open space provided from the factory. We had them install their shelf in the bathroom cabinet as well which is a nice addition.
I opted for the bolt on HD hitch from Doug at Casita Works, it's a much more robust design than what LHOTR offers. I also had him install the front and rear BAL 7500lb scissor jacks, these are a massive improvement over the crappy 1500lb rear jacks they come with. It makes short work of leveling and stabilizing the trailer and changing a flat tire will be a cinch.

@@texlee1640 Casita Works was too far out of our way. I've seen some neat designs people did themselves for the closet, but we are short of time these days. Still have to work. I wish they sold a kit just to do the hatch at the bottom. I'm going to make a video on things I wish they'd do differently. I want a blue bottom, not grey. I actually like the old wood better and would like a better looking floor. Want something a little brighter but retro and bohemian. Interior is perhaps a little "pedestrian."

@@shastagypsy I agree, the floor is meh but that's not too difficult to change when you have the time and we are considering it as well. I didn't care for the wood finish either so we opted for the grey paint. I agree, so little time these days, that's why we paid for all of these installs as well. Luckily for us we are in the same "region" as Casita, LHOTR, Casita Works, Katy's Closet, etc. so it makes a day trip for installs doable.

I hate to lose the storage. I don't think they are as popular and I see them sitting for sale much longer when people go to sell them. I've met people that bought them used and wished they had the storage. One couple I met, the wife hated it but the guy was semi-disabled and loved them. It depends I you can give up the space. Definitely don't get a microwave if you go with that model as you will need the space..
