I think it's hilarious that Paul Gilbert, world renown guitarist, has a studio that looks like most anyone else's might. It's not overly fancy, just pure function.
that is so entertaining! Paul is such a funny, heartfelt and positive "next door" guy,,, I always feel so inspired when I watch his vids, thanks Paul! This dude is a legend, but still the kid in the candy store after all these decades... still remember the day, when I heard "street lethal" back in 1986...man,that was IT!
Paul never fails to put a smile on my face. Such a talented guy and very versatile, and having seen other videos of him playing drums he's certainly no slouch on that instrument either! Health and happiness to you Paul.
Proof that tone and music in in the hands and head ...... Paul has such a simple studio yet the quality of his recordings and production are better than what we hear from so many others who are using much bigger studios and high end equipment
I absolutely love how most of his interviews really just come down to him showing us cool guitar licks and how he gets his sound. Amazing player and all around good guy that doesnt mind showing his secret methods on tones. Of course i have been playing over 25 years and still have to do most of his solos at half speed haha
I don't think he's balding, there are few recent pics of him without the hat on instagram and he looked fine, he just seems uncomfortable with longer, messy hair. He couldn't get a cut since they were closed down. It's also part of his process about turning into a "bluesman", the suit, the hat, the pentatonic licks. Cutting with shredding past. I know, it's unfortunate, not the PG we grew up with, in the last 10 years he changed a lot.
A light Spalted Maple BC Rich Mockingbird with Ebony fretboard and cloud inlays with the R logo would be a better choice for him, and yes, he's welcome for my picking out his gear.
That paint job on the mini double neck was cool. I wish he did a close up to see what was going on. Appreciate the kana subtitles so I can figure out how to say some guitar lingo in Japanese.
Jaw-dropping good!!! U guys are awesome Young Guitar!!!! Of course, Paul Gilbert is simply the best!!… just look at the number of guitars he used for Werewolves of Portland

Despite his freaky nerdity, vthe dude is an absolute monster player.
Action high or low, when you are Paul Gilbert, you just sound super clean with every pick at any speed. That is why he is a Guitar Master.

Tones in the pickups/amp…bring good just makes it sound that much better
Paul dressed like he's ready to prevent Yogi Bear from stealing picnic baskets.
Paul as Mr. Ranger.
That beautiful treat for our ears and what a wonderful person Paul is! He’s a real gem in the guitar community! He’s the greatest ever!

Haven't seen Mr Gilbert without a hat for a long while now. Take it off Paul! You can be a role model for all us baldies in the making! 💪

"I've got a hat!" - Love Paul Gilbert, a true genius!
A light Spalted Maple BC Rich Mockingbird with Ebony fretboard and cloud inlays with the R logo would be a better choice for him, and yes, he's welcome for my picking out his gear.
I recently switched to trying 8-38 strings for the first time, really fun.
Great video, Paul looks like he's having a great time as always.
Rock on Paul! This was so casual and fun, really humble and fun guy. You can just tell he breathes playing, definitely inspiring!
That paint job on the mini double neck was cool. I wish he did a close up to see what was going on.

He’s an amazing person
Amazing musician
Amazing artist
Amazing entertainer
Paul is one of the best in every way...
I like that Paul just uses pedals for his sound. Simple, nothing fancy.
He looks like the counselor on Celebrity Rehab with Dr.Drew. He worked with Steven Adler and Alice in Chains Mike Star.
I’m definitely more of a preset guy. I like programable gear, but I love watching him mess with his pedals. He truly enjoys it.
One of the most competent and versatile instrumentalists of all time. No style is safe from Mr. G. Thanks for this production YGM!
love this guy so much talent ! You're on the top list Paul one of my favorites for sure !
Every rundown : "I play 11 cuz I play so hard". Paul Gilbert : "Well I run 8-38 strings"
We love you Paul... Take care of yourself... we wish you Good Health and Happiness...
Paul is quite simply the baddest guitarist alive! Just a mother of monsters player.
This guy is so professional and crazy creative.
I love all his cool old 70s Ibanez guitars.
Paul loves cat that surprises me among anything else. Gotta love this guy.
his talent and such a simple studio. just great. LOL
Thank you YG Magazine for this! Love it! Love Paul Gilbert! Rock n roll 🤘🤘
Always a pleasure to see Paul
4:50 'Dazed and confused' live 🤘
Nice! Paul is a genius!
And to make this all work perfectly, you must have the cosy warm slippers
True gentleman
i would pay good money...a lot...just to hear paul play and sing the top 10 or 20 Rush songs. with a bass and drummer of course...
He did that. With Mike Portnoy. I'm sure you can pay good money for the DVD (or a download). ua-cam.com/video/FxIInCSTZZk/v-deo.html
Paul picked up a little something from Torpey!!🥁🎵🎶
Jaw-dropping good!!! U guys are awesome Young Guitar!!!! Of course, Paul Gilbert is simply the best!!… just look at the number of guitars he used for Werewolves of Portland
Yes, I know he said it was a neodymium magnet, but I insist on thinking it as a NeilDiamond magnet.
It's a chick magnet. ;)
28:29 it's the Ibanez Artist 2635
I do wish the Fireman with the Edge whammy was a future production model...
That’s what she said
You can tell that cat was super enthused about that drum solo
I always thought it was cool that Paul collects every ideation of Ibanez lawsuit guitars.
well he is endorsed by them, so it wouldn't make sense to go out and get the ones that are legitimate.
Thank you so much to Paul and YGM for this video! :))
A genius and an American treasure
Mr Paul you taught the best Bucket Head so I guess that makes you the Best 🤣

The guitar hold us forever young-,rockn rolly Paul! 👍🎸📢🔊🎶😁

He looks like a bluesman from chicago..lav it!!!
Ya just gotta love Paul!
Love Paul's vibe always.. I need a bass player! What a beast!!
i like the micro guitar and the hollow body ted nugent guitar.
and the one watt marshall amp.
Studio cat!
Paul is just so awesome!
Thank you Young Guitar and Paul Gilbert Majstro! :)
Artists are the real guitars by Ibanez. They were designed by Bob Weir and are close to a Gibson.
LOVE the sake guitar!
So cool. PG is just the coolest guy. Tremendous talent.
I still have the '78 Goldtop Paul begged me to sell to him in 1989.
Love the slippers lol!! KA bro!!!!
Miss his old epiphone
I wonder if Paul also uses a slide when he plays drums and piano.
Paul is a human guitar encyclopedia.
How many of us have THE SAME SLIPPERS !!!!
never noticed that PG has this heavy texas accent
this was awesome
Paul looks like a Canadian Mounty. 👀 :)
Young Guitar LOVES Paul! like Ritchie Kotzen!
I still have my 86 roadstar2 love it
Could you Please tell me about how you did the wah with the switch on the side? I have been looking for this setup for a long time. Thanks
He asked his dunlop artist relations person and they did it
Satchel's Mayberry cousin.
All real guitar players have high action of their guitars.
I'm far from real, 1st string is slightly 1.5mm, 6th string is 1.5mm. 10 years from now it'll be 2.0mm. Wish me real.
Ok so Jeff loomis isn’t a real guitar player. Steve vai isn’t a real guitar player.
Wish to know which monitors are those? Genelecs?
2:45 ... his main sound is great
Paul Gilbert nevers, and I mean NEVERS, play a wrong note.
Then he just shreds on the drums
Nice frickin hat!!!
Wow Paul, it would seem we have the same slippers but unfortunately mine don’t allow me to play Wahwah as well 😂
I would love to jam with Paul one day. Or just sit and watch him jam. ha!
