  • A journey through the history of World War I following the trails of the former Isonzo Front all the way to the lower part of the Piave river. This is the Walk of Peace.
Between the Julian Alps and the Adriatic Sea, from Log pod Mangartom to Trieste/Trst, the more than 500 km long hiking trail connects the picturesque landscapes that were totally destroyed by a war of worldwide dimensions and are today seen as symbols of peaceful coexistence without borders. Moreover, the Walk of Peace includes thematic trails in the area of Ragogna, that tell the story of the retreat of the Italian Army in the Twelfth Isonzo Battle, and of the heritage of the lower area of the Piave river where the front settled in the last year of the war.
