Our visit to Villefranche sur Mer, France on the Côte d'Azur

We first visited in 2012 and returned in 2018 as part of another two-week road trip through France.
We love Villefranche-sur-Mer for its style, charm and warmth. It makes an excellent base to explore the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region. It's lovely to come back to in the evening as it's packed with restaurants, bars & cafes covering a variety of budgets.
Only 5 miles from Nice Airport it's easy to pick up a hire car, or like us, you can include it in your own road trip. It's also easy to reach by train & bus, so there's no excuse not to visit.

Thanks so much. I watched Dirty, Rotten, Scoundrels again recently; great film, I just love Micheal Caine in that movie. Ronin is good, when you get to the 'High Roads & Corniches of the Côte d'Azur' video, you'll see some more of the scenery from the car chase sequence in the movie (I'm driving at a much more relaxed pace!)

Thanks for this, really enjoyed it. A touch of nostalgia for me, as I was a student at l’institut de français in Villefranche back in the 90s.
That's fabulous - guess some bits have changed, and others not so.
We've just completed our trip to Nice, Antibes, Villefranche-sur-Mer, Monaco, Èze and Menton and decided to start our travel channel. It's such an inspiring place. Absolutely stunning.
😍 Wow - what a trip. Love the food market in Antibes, actually love Antibes. Such a beautiful park of the world - we're looking forward to heading back in the future.
Our World For You it definitely a special place. Menton is special too.
We passed through Menton back in 2009, but never stopped - we were heading up to the mountains to the Co de Turini, before head back through the mountain towns & villages on the way back to Nice. It's a beautiful region to explore, from the mountains to the sea.

The french Riviera is the most beautiful place on earth if you have the money , and even if you don't... friends of our have a caravan and spend the summers on Cote D'Ivoire nearly every year and go skiing in the french Alps in the winter... there's a reason Brits love to hate the french , because thay do everything so much better than we do!!.😂😂😎🇬🇧🇺🇦
I think they get a lot of things right 😉 And some stuff, well nobody's perfect...
That area of France is stunningly beautiful, and I think it caters for all budgets. Villefranche-sur-Mer is at the high end, but there are places much more reasonable too along that coastline, then if you head into the mountains, ahhhh
and we don't hate the French - vive la difference 😍
