    I just saw Brooklyn and I think Saoirse Ronan will get an Academy Award nomination. She was fantastic as a timid girl who is conflicted with two lovers and two countries. An important young actress to come from her Oscar nomination from Atonement (2008), her young beauty and one of the only young actresses who uses her pupils and gestures to her ability to release such a compelling performance. Julie Walters was entertaining as a major highlight as the matriarchal landlady! Expectational attention to detail in its portrayal of 1950's Brooklyn with its elegant buildings and fashion and Ireland's coast region that is achieved beautifully by cinematographer Yves Bélanger! Must see! An awards contender is guaranteed! Must check out the book!

    Saw her in Atonement in 2008 and said at the time - that's an actress who will be big in the film world. I'm not surprised in the least at her success. Thing is... Saoirse will only get better! This girl was born to be an actress!

    Bly me! I didn't know she existed a few days ago & now me eyes and ears can't get enough of her. I don't care that she was born in the United States, she is Ireland.

    Not the kind of actress that gets praise from everyone for example Emma Watson. The movies she`s done are very unique and likable but not for everyone. There`s a good reason why her fanbase is not full of crazy people. Saoirse doesn`t even have any social media account, probably because she`s got better things to do. I really hope she wins an Oscar this time.

      +Faizan Ad True. She's so underrated. After I watched 'Brooklyn' I immediately thought she'd be nominated for an Oscar and maybe even win but she didn't. Anyways its fine cause Brie Larson won and she was brilliant in 'Room'. Hopefully Saoirse will win one day.

    I feel like the only person who doesn’t think ‘Brooklyn’ is any better than a Nicholas sparks film. It was so boring.
    ETA: I just saw ‘atonement’ for the first time (yeah I wait until a movies hype dies down) and I was SHOCKED at people’s hatred of Briony. Exactly like saoirse said, she was a CHILD. All these years I’ve heard about this horrible vile character Briony and when I saw the movie I was like ‘are you serious?’. ‘People are this mad AT A CHILD?’.

    • @user-qx7vv3gt3r
      @user-qx7vv3gt3r 4 роки тому

      More than anything, I feel sorry for Briony because she had to carry the guilt from 13 till she’s old

    • @Nazaba09
      @Nazaba09 4 роки тому

      c. Well yes and no. She genuinely thought it was Robbie when she was 13. Like she says in the confrontation scene at the end. It wasn’t until paul and lola’s wedding she realized it was paul, so from 18 to whenever she died.

    • @user-qx7vv3gt3r
      @user-qx7vv3gt3r 4 роки тому

      Natalie Zayas-Bazan wasn’t she (to get to the point, cant think of a proper word rn) “shocked” when she saw robbie with the kids then just after saying her testimony to the police? i felt like she questioned herself a little bit there

    • @Nazaba09
      @Nazaba09 4 роки тому

      c. I can see your argument but as someone else pointed out to me, Robbie technically had time for both. He had time to assault Lola and THEN go find the boys. Remember, he doesn’t come back for a while. So both are plausible I guess.

      She was an acting prodigy as a child. I think she was just lucky she turned out beautiful as well. Her talents speak for themselves, though. There are so many cute child actors who turned out weird looking as adults, she isn't one of them.

      +PubliusAfricanus she doesn't NEED to lose weight. She looks beautiful the way she is. Nobody needs to change the way they look to fit yours or anyone else standards

    • @PubliusAfricanus
      @PubliusAfricanus 9 років тому

      Molly Lawrence She needs to get back to her optimal "hot" weight, and that aint it.

    • @wheezymbaby
      @wheezymbaby 9 років тому +9

      errr no she does not need to. but you know feel free to enlighten me with your definition of "optimal hot weight" because i think its ridiculous that you you don't see how stunning she is. and fyi lots of people have different face shapes and some people have chubbier cheeks than others but by no means does that mean she has to lose weight

    • @PubliusAfricanus
      @PubliusAfricanus 9 років тому +1

      Molly Lawrence The weight she was before she ballooned and stopped being hot. That is her optimal weight. I don't care about anyone else; we're talking about this one specific individual.

    • @wheezymbaby
      @wheezymbaby 9 років тому +10

      and I'm saying you don't have a right to tell someone that they need to lose weight, that is awful! beauty is beyond weight and appearance although she is beautiful on the outside its her amazing personality and phenomenal acting that should shine though to you like it does to a lot of other people who are wise enough to see it
