Smelly the skunk

We have never had such a sweet, tiny skunk like her before!
This petite girl skunk is well over 3 years old and has been a mom several times She has spent her days living in harmony with a nature-loving couple on a beautiful rural property. Incredibly, she has adapted so well to her human neighbours that she is not threatened by them and rarely sprays.
A month ago they noticed her limping, but then last week they spotted her dragging her hind leg. It was time to intervene. They picked her up, put her in a box and our volunteer driver rushed to get her.
"Smelly" as they nicknamed her, must have wedge her foot somehow between a rock and a hard place. It is swollen and the skin is badly torn off. It also looks like she fractured her toes. On top of all that, she has an upper respiratory infection.
Poor little Smelly, we are so grateful you are such a good patient!
