Hamster Playground! DIY Popsicle Stick Swing, Slide and Seesaw (Yeehaw)

- Hey, in this video I show you how to make a mini play park for your hamster. I used some wooden popsicle sticks, glue and all the patience in the world. As always though, it was definitely worth it just to see Mabel having some fun - the slide whilst being my least favourite to make has turned out to be her favourite to play on. If you want to DIY and try these out, I’ve included material lists at the end of each segment that you can screenshot.
PLEASE NOTE: I will only use hot glue on toys/furniture when they will not be in my hamster's cage and only used during free-roaming time where I can constantly supervise her and make sure that she doesn't chew. Just a reminder that hot glue is toxic to hamsters if it is ingested so if you ever plan on making anything that is meant for their cage, please use non-toxic PVA/Elmer's glue instead 😊

I’d use a wood glue fist as well, and hot glue just to hold them together 😊

Use water soluble glue instead but I love these I so hung little plastic terrariums from the tops of their enclosures the little globe ones and tubes I hung tubes from the tops of their enclosures

Is the hot glue non-toxic? Would love to make this for our mice, but I'm worried about them eating the glue.
Use non toxic kid glue or water mixed with flour instead of hot glue, hence, if they eat it they may get sick or die.

My dwarf is about half the size of the average Syrian so I think they'd be fine if you scale them up at least 1.5x 😊

Hello I am from the US California, first off I love your voice, you sound so peaceful. I absolutely love all your hamster crafts I am most definitely going to try this. I just have a couple of questions, does your ham ever chew on the sticks ? And if he does could it be dangerous ? I am a new hamster owner and just trying to learn all that I can. I would recommed to do a supervised playtime with this. Then you will be able to stop the chewing. Chewing only occurs when they are bored so if they are playing and staying active then they will be happy and not chew. Theres also chew sticks for hamsters.

Just wanna ask, are hot glue safe for hamsters? I mean, they could accidentally eat them if they suddenly decided to gnaw the popsicle stick...I'm planning on making these because I'm broke😅

Thank you so much for your comment, don't worry though I only use hot glue on toys/furniture that won't be put in my hamster's cage and will only be used during free-roaming time when I can supervise her😊 someone had reminded me before and I have since put this into the description but I will make sure to say this in my future videos!

@@beep4929 omg no don't worry I really appreciate every comment especially if anyone is concerned about anything! Yeah Elmer's really does take forever to dry😭 personally I think hot glue is okay if you're constantly supervising but obviously if you're worried Elmer's is always the safest bet😊

Hi, you can try soaking your used popsicle sticks in hot soapy water for an hour or so and then after they've dried they should be fine to use! But after cleaning if you find your hamster is intent on chewing them, then it's probably best to switch to new ones😊

Please dont use hot glue unless its specified that its non toxic, also i dont recommend using popsicle sticks cuz on breaking by chewing, it turns into shards which pierce the inside of your hamsters mouth

I don’t think hot glue is hamster safe. It’s plastic and the hamster will try to eat it
You should never use hot glue for anything for your hamsters. So so many hamster house tutorials I have seen using hot glue. Always use non toxic glue like Elmer’s glue. Can you buy hot glue that is water soluble and non toxic?
